Students will learn basic piano skills such as hand placement, note reading, note values, pedal use, major and minor scales, expressions, etudes, pieces, memory work, music history, performance techniques, and most of all to have fun learning the piano. I will expect students to have a minimum 67 note keyboard with sustain pedal, or a good piano to use for personal practice time. Each student should spend at least 20-30 minutes daily to start. They must purchase the recommended books.

Wow! Wow! Wow! This was truly money and time well spent. I went into this lesson with no expectations, rather just with the hope of connecting well with a piano instructor that was not only well versed but could ease me into being a student. Paul is a rare treasure. He exceeded all my hopes of what I hoped to gain from my lessons. I would highly recommend him for any piano student. If you're looking to be challenged, and learn any genre of music,, don't wait...book your lessons with Paul. Thank you Paul. I'm looking forward to growing as a student.

As a musician, I am also a freelance artist an I have my own painting studio and gallery as well. I love to travel and teach so this is why I would love to teach online.

I believe that no matter music or art, they are all medium to nuture your own creativity and make you feel more alive.

I always encourage my students to be imaginative when it comes to interpret music. I believe one can play well have to learn how to appreciate music first.
Only with the students' own internalization of the music, the music can be alive.

To play music well means one has to understand the song from all different perspectives, not only the techniques but also the learn the musical themes that the composer intended to express.

And the most interesting part comes to the performer add his/her own touch and imagination, preference to the original piece.

I would love to share the joy of playing music with my students.
I will teach my students the lessons of techniques and expressions separately ...

Maggie is a great teacher. My seven-year-old daughter loves her and she learns a lot from her. My daughter had a different piano teacher before. I like Maggie's upbeat way of teaching better than her old teacher. I personally believe the right attitude and energy helps motivate kids to learn. I like that she has different lesson plans and reward system. Just a little something to show my daughter that she's doing a good job.

"My friend, whose son received a music scholarship as well as enjoyed his piano lessons highly recommended Linda to me. Linda's great experience and personal methodologies guide students in the shortest way to success and brings an appreciation of music into their lives. No moments during her lessons are wasted on unrelated matters and she always keeps students focused by moving from one activity to another, and by being friendly and encouraging. She is always flexible with her schedule and pleasant to work with. She is a rare instructor who works hard to give students the opportunity to perform in public venues a few times and year (the most favorite moments to my boys), which make children self-confident and proud to demonstrate the fruit of their effort. I have two children who are taking lessons with Linda and they love it: 11 years old (for six years) and 8 years old (for four).
Daily practice at home for my children has turned into a fun habit, and I do not have to be involved much anymore. Linda is a role model for how an instructor should be and I highly recommend her to everyone. I am very thankful to Linda for bringing such an appreciation and joy of music into my sons lives. Our family moved to Portland three months ago, but we are still driving to Olympia once a week for lessons because so far we cannot find another instructor with the same excellent qualities."

"Sharon is an extraordinary teacher. My family has been with her for years. She has opened her heart and mind to understand the needs of her students. She refuses to push a student into a category that the student doesn't match. Every student is not the same. Sharon uses the students natural tendencies to teach the student in a manner that is comfortable, creative and effective. My children have grown up with this kind of example and now I see my grandchildren exhibit the same strengths and skills. Sharon is a Master Teacher. All teachers should take a note from her musical play book."
