Private Singing Teacher

Singing is my specialty. As the vocalist for Sony Records band Atom Smash I toured for over 1000 shows and have found tricks to keep your voice up to par while singing aggressively. Most coaches focus on classical methods that would'nt stand up to the modern market of music. Using my methods and coaching your voice will be healthier, more stylized, and you will have the stamina to play 200 shows per year like I have. Im a passionate coach that takes my students under my wing.

About Sergio

Hi, I'm Sergio. I am a producer/songwriter and I teach voice and guitar in Nashville, TN. Ive been teaching voice and guitar for 7 years. I was previously on Sony Records. I'm an experienced touring lead singer/musician in an internationally recognized rock band called Atom Smash. I've had several top 40 singles and a #1 Sirius/XM single. I write for both WWE & CBS. My mentor is Greg Drew, vocal coach to the stars (Avril Lavigne, Lenny Kravitz, etc.) My clients include country superstar Morgan Wallen and alternative artist Briston Maroney. Several of my clients have gone on to be finalists on Amercian Idol, the Voice and have signed record deals. Now enough about me and let’s get your passion for music rolling. I work with beginner to advanced vocalists and also have a fun lesson plans for kids as well. All ages and levels welcome. L

ets take you to the next level!

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons plan is detailed and I use affective methods such as recording. At the end of every lesson, we video/record what you need to work on. It doesn't stop with technique, you will learn performance and songwriting as well. A singer will have the tools to create their own custom warmup routines. Music is supposed to be fun and expressive. Let me help you do this at the best level you can!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Studio room, guitar, recording equipment, seating for parents.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide a guitar

*** Specialties ***
Hard Rock, Blues, Country, Metal, and R&B.
I have played 1,000 shows over the years and using the skills I've learned and developed I've only had to cancel 2 shows because of losing my voice.

As mostly a backing vocalist in my band, I needed a teacher who could take me from an intermediate level to advanced. The result is the lead singer noticing my improvements to the extent that more lead vocal parts are now being assigned to me. Sergio is patient and non-judgmental, creating a space to start wherever I am at the time and climb the ladder of skill at my own pace. His astonishing insights of the areas I was struggling with helped me laser in on them. So glad I went weekly with him for three months of improvement that would have taking me years on my own or with marginally helpful Youtubes. Go pro! Go Sergio!

I engaged Sergio to learn how to do metal vocals. I found him knowledgeable and personable, and I made a lot of progress learning from him. I would have liked to continue, but life had other plans :)

About Carolyn

I earned my degrees in music and elementary education at Southeast Missouri University. I taught music in school for seven years. in 1989 I began teaching only privately . I am constantly aware that the best way for students to learn is a program individually planned for him or her. I love teaching all ages..Through the years I have expanded my lessons to provide performance opportunities for those students who are interested.

*** Lesson Details ***
Each lesson is geared toward that one individual. I am familiar with all the music book publications so I pick and choose from them for each individual student.
Every lesson will be a positive experience with little treats at the end of their lesson. For the students who would like to participate we have recitals at Steinway Piano Gallery every three month.
For the vocal students wh

o would like to participate we do singing performances at Retirement Homes . I have many costumes from which to choose for the characters. Some of our favorite shows are Wizard of Oz, Sound of Music , Disney and Phantom of The Opera.
I Am located in the Crestwood,Webster, Kirkwood, South County area.

*** Studio Equipment ***
In my music studio I have a console Baldwin and a baby grand. I have microphones and audio equipment for practice for voice students. I record all voice lessons that the student takes home to practice.

*** Specialties ***
I design my lessons to fit the student I am teaching. I give certificates for progress. Stickers are given to younger students.

I've just started with Carolyn and have had only 3 lessons. She is very patient and encouraging. I have been singing in church choirs and community choirs most of my life. Just recently, I joined a non audition choral society that performs classical music and more demanding music. I was told that no one wanted to sit beside me because I was singing the wrong notes. If they thought that would deter me, they were wrong. I did drop out of the spring concert because I didn't have much time to improve. I have always wanted to take singing lessons but never created the opportunity. I am determined to learn to sing well and to join the choral society for the Christmas concert. I believe that Carolyn is the teacher who can help me achieve this goal.

Rediscovering piano

After almost 20 years away I'm really enjoying taking piano lessons again. Carolyn has been great about tailoring lessons for an adult beginner, and focusing on the type of music that I want to play. She has also been flexible working with my schedule, something I very much appreciate.

Private Singing Teacher

I am a recent graduate and studied vocal performance and pedagogy. I love singing and figuring out the best way to teach each student as an individual. I know that everyone learns differently and I want the lesson to be as fun and efficient as possible! I have experience teaching everything, from the "broadway belt" (in a healthy way) to classical arias and art songs, to popular music!

Let's see if we're a good match!

About Mackenzie

I am a singer, piano player, and church choir director. I graduated from Central College in Pella, IA with a BA in biology and music, specifically vocal performance and pedagogy.

I have had the opportunity to sing with world renowned artists, including Gabriel Espinosa, Kim Nazarian, Ethan Butler, and more! This has given me great insight into the music business and the importance of networking.

Creating individualized lessons for each student is the name of my game. I enjoy creating music with my students and troubleshooting during each lesson. I am always reading on the latest techniques and repertoire for students of all ages, to make sure my students are getting the best and newest information.

A BA in music also requires a large amount of music theory and history, which I enjoy adding into lessons. If interested in a more

in depth study into this, I would be happy to add more into each lesson! Understanding context of a piece of music is incredibly important to know before singing it, which is why I like to go over just a little bit of history with each piece.

I enjoy teaching all styles of music; Broadway, classical, gospel, pop, and everything in between! Know that the foundation for all of these styles is the same, so if you are interested in learning multiple styles, it will be easy to do!

I look forward to meeting with you and creating together!

Singing Lessons for Kids: 10 Ways to Support Your Child

By Suzy S.

If your son or daughter loves to sing, a private teacher can teach him or her how to sing correctly and stay excited about learning! Here, St. Augustine, FL teacher Heather L. shares 10 ways you can support your child throughout the journey...   Kids are simply made to sing. In most of the lessons that I teach, no matter the student's age, I inevitably find myself teaching her how to be a kid in some way. Shaking out tense muscles, dancing to the beat, making animal sounds, keeping it …
