About Steven

Hailing from New York City, Steven W. has been involved in the performing arts his entire life, which began as he received his training from a number prestigious arts institutions...Julliard (where he studied piano), New York University (where he studied music education), and the Katie Agresta Vocal Studio (whose other students include Sting, Bon Jovi, Cyndi Lauper, Annie Lenox and many more, including the casts of numerous Broadway shows).

Steven is currently an indie rock solo singer/musician/producer with a number of albums in release (on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and more); recently spent two months as NY's #1 indie artist on Reverbnation's charts, and continues to perform all over the country. Steven also records and tours with other artists, playing huge festivals all over the world.

Having performed on small cabaret stages fo

r just a few people, and in stadiums for 60,000, he believes in not only teaching technique, but also how to tailor a performance for the appropriate situation. It's this combination of technical training, and performance experience, that Steven brings to his classes as a teacher.

Steven was great with my 8 year old daughter. He got her excited about learning guitar, so much so that her 6 year old brother begged us to take lessons as well. He was also very responsive to my questions and made some very helpful suggestions about how to enhance the experience for her. We were so sad that he moved away!

About Molly

In 2004, I graduated cum laude with a bachelor of music in Music Education. Specializing in voice and violin, I studied with Dr. Youngsuck Kim, Dr. Kenneth Sarch and Dr. Adrian Bryttan. I have also trained with the following vocal teachers after college- Melanie Galiardo , Greg Enriquez, Linda Balliro, and the amazing Seth Riggs.
As a voice teacher, I have spent decades learning and studying techniques that allow the voice to stay relaxed and connected.

Learning how to free your voice and free your body while singing will enable you to stay connected with your voice and find joy in singing. I love that every voice is unique. My goal as a teacher is to support each student in finding the power and uniqueness of their sound. Discovering the power of your voice builds confidence and gives you the tools and ability to sing your best.

This holistic approach focuses on whole body experience. As each part of our body aligns with one another, it supports and frees the voice. Understanding and releasing any tension that may be present in the body is explored in lessons.

You will learn warm-ups that will train your vocal cords to connect. You will learn to relax your larynx while singing. Most importantly, you will learn and understand the difference between chest voice, mix voice, and head voice- essential for singing flawlessly thru your bridges.

As you free your voice, you will find greater ease of singing and speaking and discover the joy of singing.

About Patrice

My interest is in developing singers to become a better version of themselves and help them reach their goals. Many of my students are singing professionally in Colorado, New York and internationally.

Background includes international and national performance credits in both opera and musical theatre. My last major gig was Carlotta in Andrew Lloyd Webber's German production of Phantom of the Opera in Hamburg, Germany for ten years.
We sang eight times a week in German! All backstage activities were in English due to the truly International cast. I loved every minute of living and working in Continental Europe.

In May, I'll be singing one of the leading soprano roles with Opera Fort Collins in The Fairy Queen by Purcell. I'm hoping my costume will have a set of white wings like the Gynbourne production.

About Rebecca

For Rebecca Barritt, the only constant in life has been a passion for music. She began writing songs when she was 6 years old and never stopped, most recently fronting the Victoria-based band Phantom Thieves. As a songwriter, Rebecca is fiercely honest and defiantly vulnerable – never shying away from the beauty, complexities, and hidden fears that come with being alive.

Rebecca has been offering music lessons since 2010. Her warm passion for music – and for people – shines through in her work with her students. She connects with each student to discover their reasons for wanting to learn music. Whether they are beginning with the basics or reaching for new levels of artistry, Rebecca works to help students find their way towards the soulfulness and self-expression that music promises at its best.

Rebecca is literally the best. She is personalable and friendly and super easy to get along with. I was super nervous about sharing something so personal and intimate as a song I had written from my heart with an ACTUAL professional. But Rebecca was exactly that. A professional. It turns out Rebecca's amazing talents and skills as singer, a musician, and a song writer, are matched only by her ability to share her love and insight with other lovers of music such as myself. I felt almost immediately at ease and confident with her, and after only a few sessions was absolutely amazed how much I had learned about singing, song writing, and, if I'm being perfectly honest, myself; both as a musician and an artist. I was referred to Rebecca from friends, whose children she taught, and they and their parents both absolutely adored her. As a more *ahem* mature student, I was expecting some tips on theory and technique, and figured I'd just try, having strummed and picked away in hiding for many years. I have to say I am absolutely blown away with how much I've learned, and how easy it was with Rebecca's guidance and tutelage. If you love music and want to make your own, Rebecca is who you need to go see.

"Great lesson with lots of help."

"Started with Jim Back in Feb 2015...Im in my 50's and didn't have a clue, my girl gave me a guitar for Christmas and new it was on my bucket list to learn
, and learn I did with Jim. Patience and clear, no pressure lessons are what I got. All I wanted to do is sit in my yard and play something that sounded like something, lol.... I am slowly getting better and better as long as I keep to my practice and Jim is always there to help even when I am not in class so to speak. He answers you phone calls and texts if u have questions or forgot something, even sends videos if u need it... Glad I got on board with this guy and I am hoping for more and more enjoyment from my instrument...Give him a shot, I did and pretty sure you wont be disappointed"

"Mimi is a very good teacher with super sweet personality, but the Skype lesson did not work for Jasmine. She prefers in person music lessons."
Danny
"Excellent

Danny is versatile in various styles. The kicker is that he assessed my voice and then found out I had a few trouble spots and I was shy about
singing in my higher registers. Not anymore! I noticed a difference in my first lesson. Homework was emailed to me and I was told if I work through it daily Ill see results in the first week...No lie.. It actually works."
