I teach Cubase multi-track recording.

I have been teaching this for 12 years.

I am very patient and adjust areas of study to fit my students goals.

About Kimberly

I started playing music around the Kansas City area twenty five years ago. I graduated from The University of Southern California with a degree in studio/jazz guitar (cum laude). While at USC, I received a merit scholarship and an award for professional leadership and service within her department

I really like Kimberly because she lets me pick my own songs to learn and is really nice in general. She makes music sheets for me to take home and study and I’ve learned a lot from her since my first lesson. I think she is a great music teacher and I hope anybody who wants to take guitar lessons will give her a shot.

Why don't my recordings sound like that? We have all asked the question. A phenomenally produced record has a certain shimmer to it; an airy, open feeling as if the music just floats effortlessly through the air. The Kick is punchy and thick. The Snare sounds like someone is snapping an oak branch in concert hall. The Vocal seems to just sit in the mix perfectly over the defined yet MASSIVE Bass part. There are three main components to a great recording: 1) An amazing performance 2) high quality equipment 3) Sound Engineering skill.

The first two criteria are out of my hands (I will say that getting a good take will ALWAYS be better than doing a great edit. I will also say that high quality does not always mean high price. That being said, when you get past a certain cost threshold on things like Microphones, Preamps, and A/D Coverters, it will make your mixing significantly easier as you will be dealing with a more 'natural sounding' raw file).

The third component, skill, can ...

Some people have a desire to get into the music industry as recording engineer, but have no idea how to get started. Others are musicians that simply want to capture a performance of their music so others can listen to it in their cars or on when they exercise. Music recording is super cool! You learn how to take a picture of music that can be enjoyed by everyone. When you take lessons in music recording, we cover everything: computer hardware requirements, the pros and cons of different software, microphones, interfaces, mic placement, and tons of other stuff. Music recording can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be, but with whatever level you want it to be, I'm going to make sure you have fun doing it!

About Chris

A short history of my experience with music and education: The first instrument I learned to play was the guitar in 2001. I played the guitar on the worship team at FBC of Midway in Plant City, FL from 2001 to 2005. I began teaching private music lessons in 2003. I played bass guitar in

CHRIS was awesome!!! My first lesson was with a guitar that I’d had for years, he fixed the guitar so that I would have something to practice on, whilst he fixed the guitar he didn’t forget why he was there and went over notes and chords etc, After fixing my guitar we had time to go over the gchord and I pretty much had it as he was walking out the door. I’m very pleased!!!

Kyle K has a unique teaching style. His Ableton Live knowledge has no bounds. In just five lessons he talked me through most of my usual brain-fog to help me understand, in the simplest terms, how to use Live to record music and use Midi to enhance your work. Super, Super man, Kyle is. I highly recommend Kyle if you need a teacher. John G.

Hi there and thanks for visiting! I have been playing guitar, singing, writing and producing music for the greater part of my life. My endeavor is to guide you to an understanding of one or many of these facets and give you the tools you need to become your own teacher as you continue down this path.

Below is a brief synopsis about the lessons I teach:

Guitar/Songwriting:
There will be very little music theory. I never needed much of it to write my own music, other than a few basic theories to get around successfully, so it’s not something we’ll spend a whole lot of time on. I have organized and constructed a course book to keep things lively and moving along efficiently. I call it NOTEbOOK. It’s also great refresher material to revisit in the future.

I teach basic guitar with accented professional appeal and rhythmic structure. My intention is to guide you to create your own original music using straightforward techniques. My goal, once we part ways, is for you to leave ...

About Lorin

I’ve been a writer and musician since I was a teenager, and have been teaching music lessons for over a decade. I began journaling at 15, mostly free-writing and poetry. This was my segway into guitar and songwriting. Over the years, piece by piece, I’ve gathered many angles to my myriad profession

I had a great experience learning song writing with Lorin. I would highly recommend his teaching services to anybody eager to learn music.
Rob
Lorin helped me hone my songwriting skills immensely, by not only teaching but collaborating with me when necessary. It was refreshing to find someone who put his teachings into practical learning, where I could see the outcomes become apparent. He’s a nice dude, and is experienced equally across his fields. He guided me to making intelligent choices for equipment purchases, both instruments and pro audio gear. We first met while he was living in New York, and boy has he traveled since. I think living in so many different states, and being that well journeyed has given him good cultural depth to his work. Check out some of his own collabs with singers and musicians from all over the world...that really says it all.

"I really enjoy learning from Russ. He is good at relating things back to a way I can understand and improve. He is so versatile in his music knowledge that I can litterally throw anything his way that I'm curious about and he points me in the right direction. I've taken guitar, bass, vocal, and even production lessons from Russ. By far the most value I have ever got from an instructor. At first I was a little hesitant because of the higher price than others, but when you start noticing that you are learning stuff other teachers had no idea about, it makes sense to pay a little more for the quality you get out of his lessons. Thanks Russ for all the lessons over the last few years! Wouldn't be where I am today without ya!"

He only made me feel confident in my abilities and showed me the way without being condescending, and also being super helpful throughout. He explained so many of the processes and aspects of the software and his confidence in me helped me perform better than expected! Super smart guy, he really knows his stuff."
