I am a lifelong passionate drummer & musician who has taught Drum-Set & Marching Percussion to hundreds of people of all ages, levels and abilities, for nearly 3 decades. I am very versatile and can teach any style. I will personalize every lesson to your interests and goals. All you need is a practice pad and a pair of sticks to take a lesson.

I believe that an encouraged student is a successful student! I have been teaching students of all ages and abilities for over 20 years, and believe that anyone can have FUN learning to play the drums. As a teacher, I can give you the tools, technique, and confidence to achieve your drumming goals, whatever they might be. Whether you're just starting out or picking drums up again after a hiatus, I will work with you to create a customized curriculum to help you unlock your full potential. Drums are one of the most fun instruments to learn, and I am adept at performing and teaching all styles, from rock to jazz to everything in between.

I have played as a substitute drummer in the orchestra of the Off-Broadway show "Jersey Boys," and have also backed up Adam Pascal ("RENT," "Aida"), Christine Ohlman (vocalist for the Saturday Night Live Band), and Carolee Carmello ("The Addams Family," "Mamma Mia!"). I have also appeared on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" as a musician extra. ...

Drums:
One of my favorite instruments to teach , and definitely a fun instrument to learn, is the full Drum Set. You will love my method as it is very easy to follow. Starting with very basics of learning rhythms, within the first two lessons you will be able to play beats with a band! Study with me for over twenty years if you like and you will learn all styles of beats, polyrhythms and more.

I've been teaching contemporary drum set in Orange County for over a decade, and many of my students have gone on to not only play and read notated drum set music with ease, but have continued their studies at arts high-schools and music colleges, with several of them continuing on to the professional world. I use an award winning curriculum used at many music academies and conservatories, and have received accolades for my ability to retain many students for many years. Within the first few lessons, a new student will be able to understand the basics of rhythm and snare drum notation, play a plethora of relatable and cool sounding grooves, and build a foundation that will serve the student for a life time.

I have been playing drums for more than 10 years and have been teaching for more than 3. Throughout that time, I have played across the country in New York City and even in Japan. I am currently a Jazz Studies Major at Sacramento State University. My goal is to make every student a well-rounded drummer who knows whats going on when they are in any type of musical situation. My favorite style to play is jazz, but I am well-rounded in all other styles such as rock, Latin, blues, funk, and country.

In my lessons, I base the material on the student depending on how advanced they are. If the student is just starting out, I will teach them the basics such as holding the drumsticks properly, basic rudiments, reading rhythms, learning about the hardware, and so on.
