I hold a Ph.D. in chemistry. I have been teaching various chemistry courses at high school and college levels for years.
I view teaching/education as my calling, by that I mean it is a profession that deserves life-time effort and dedication. I ascribe who I am and what I have accomplished to my parents and all my teachers. They instilled knowledge, the skill to learn, and the moral compass in me, which transformed me into an independent and contributing citizen who knows how to and when to make the right decision. I feel that to do the same as my teachers did to me is my responsibility to younger generations.
I hold a Ph.D. in chemistry. With a strong academic background in science and math, I have successfully helped many students improve their academic performance in math and science through tutoring.
In recent years, I have also tutored students in standardized exams. My expertise is MCAT chemistry and physics, SAT, GRE, and GMAT.
I can hel
p you achieve the score you need to enter your dream school.
*** Lesson Details *** I can provide one-to-one private tutoring according to your study needs or small group classes.
Highly unprofessional. Doesn’t know the subject well didn’t help my son at all. Not accommodating with the student’s schedule. Pls don’t waste money with her as your teacher.

This tutor does not fill the total time paid for. If the student has no more questions, rather than structuring the lesson like other tutors he will simply finish early! I am sure he is very knowledgable, but his accent is very strong, making learning a newer subject harder through trying to understand new words with a strong accent.
A fan was constantly ticking in the background, and he admitted his internet connection was poor.

I was getting really discouraged with MCAT studying and practice, so I decided to contact Dr. Alan.
He is extremely knowledgeable in general chemistry, organic chemistry and biochem. He also knows how the MCAT exam is designed and written. He is a great source of information.
Furthermore, he prioritizes making sure his students understand why certain answers are wrong or right. He is very detail oriented and really wants his students to understand the material.
Dr. Alan tutored me online, and shared his screen with me while working out chemical reactions and problems. He then saved all of that work and emailed it to me, so I could refer to it later.
Dr. Alan definitely tries to provide his students with the resources to succeed. He sends his students extra practice as well as power points and tutorials on information that he knows is tested on the MCAT.
I am very glad I contacted Dr. Alan, because he is a very dedicated caring teacher, and he really wants his students to do well. I would recommend him to anyone who needs some guidance on the MCAT!

I took tutorials on general chemistry with Dr. Alan for one term. He always went extra miles to make sure that I was prepared for my tutorial sessions by sending me enrichment materials on topics that were covered in my class beforehand. He accommodated my learning style and was able to provide supplemental lectures as I requested, which I appreciate tremendously. He was also always very prompt in responding to my emails. He doesn't always provide direct answers when you ask questions, but provides guidance in a way that makes you think -I believe this is essential in learning. I would recommend tutorials with Dr. Alan if you are keen on learning and truly want to comprehend your subjects of interest well.
I've been teaching chemistry for twenty years and my students have gone from no knowlegde at all to grasp the basic. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to use symbols, moles and equations to solve stoichiometry problems and as time goes on you'll be able to solve more complex problems about gases and thermodynamics. I specialize in stoichiometry, typically I use any chemistry book and have the following tools available for your lessons:Internet, cd's,calculator, and videos, . I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!
My mission is to teach you the way you can understand this new knowledge and apply it

I have been a science educator since 2008. My goal is to give you confidence that you can conquer chemistry! It's a fun and interesting science and, for me, helping you to experience that is important. I will help you with the quantitative parts of chemistry, too, and help you to learn and use some tools that will help you to do well on assignments and tests. Thanks for considering me!
That is the word around which I build my tutoring.
I want my students to enjoy learning about science. I want them to see and understand why it's useful, how knowing it can help them, and how it can be fun.
To get there, I focus on three things:
First, I try hard to make sure that every student does not lose sight of the overall connection between the very specific, sometimes technical details she is learning and the overarching point of the science. That helps keep the subject interesting.
Second, I work to help the student master the quantitative aspects of science. High school teachers generally emphasize that kind of calculation to a pretty significant degree and, besides, nervousness over the math often gets in the way of enjoying the learning and a better grade!
Third, I strive to develop a strong working relati
onship with the student so that I get a better understanding of the ways that she or he best learn. I use videos, texts and written practice materials, sure, but I also use comics, music, drawing, outdoor activities, and even lab-style learning activities.
This variety helps to assure that a student has some fun while learning and to recognize that the sciences are exciting. If a student is encouraged to believe that, then she or he might not only improve their grade in science class. The student might just become open to some new dreams and, of course, gain alot more confidence.
I make myself available to email or text consultation with a student, with the parent's permission, outside of the regularly scheduled in-person meeting and I do not charge for that extra help.
I have taught physics, chemistry, and math (from simple calculations, algebra, and geometry through to calculus) in classroom settings and as a tutor for over 10 years, before which I studied and worked as an environmental engineer. With the sciences, particularly, I find it helpful for students to understand some of the history of the evidence for why we currently think the way we do. For instance, it's useful to trace how people used to think about atoms and how they do now, especially looking at the evidence for why that model of an atom has changed.
At my school, I was the teacher infamous for answering a question with a question in order to lead the student from what they already know through reasoning out an answer, which can sometimes take a little more time and effort than just giving the student the answer. Research proves that this is the best way to solidify your learning for deep mastery, though. Don't worry - I won't let you get too frustrated or ever abandon you
Initially trained in environmental engineering, I made the switch to teaching after spending two years as a volunteer teacher abroad. From there, I went on to earn my Masters in Teaching at Seattle University and to teach at public and private schools for the last 10+ years. I've tutored elementary students for whom English is a second language in math, tutored calculus, taught geometry and algebra, high school physics, and introduced a new curriculum to my school for the honors chemistry class, which I also taught.
I'm a big fan of learning by inquiry (especially for science and geometry), which involves trying something out and exploring it a bit, then processing what you experienced through conversation and critical thinking. I understand that not every student is looking for this, though, so if you're just looking to get throu
gh tonight's homework, I'm there for you, too!
Though I'm originally from Washington State, I recently moved to Canada with my wife and three young kids. I'm a lifelong fan of J.R.R. Tolkien (author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings), hiking, permaculture, and enjoying our miraculous universe. We're hoping someday soon to build our own little hobbit-hole house homestead...
