I am experienced (3 years) in home school tutoring. I mostly work with Florida Virtual School students. I overlook their tests and assignments, and help them with preparations for Discussion Based Assessmemts (DBA). I also help parents with required annual evaluations and how to sign up with home education department. For my tutoring sessions I use skills that include goal-directedness, I teach how to organize learning in small steps and how to set them up; I always strive to motivate and engage my students to make them interested in learning and have fun; I also use self-control skills to teach how to avoid distractions and I show how to use different focusing strategies. I use positive mind set skills to teach how to use failures as learning opportunities.
I have Masters in Education (2018) with specialization in English, Curricul
um and Education; and Masters in Arts (2012) in Teaching English to speakers of other languages, and Bachelors in Music Education (2010), both from Florida Atlantic University, as well as a degree in violin performance from Chicago. I studied piano in Chicago for 10 years & taught both piano & violin for over 20 years. I also teach flute & cello for the past 5 years, as I studied them during my Music Education program. I have taught music for over 24 years using the traditional and Suzuki methods. I am fan of the Essential Elements method and I Can Read Music book for string instruments, and the Alfred's Piano Library for piano. Alfred's piano library can be used for any age as they also have books especially made for adult learners. I also like their music flash cards. For teaching music theory I mostly used Fundamentals of Piano Theory (9 levels) combined with Master Theory (6 levels) books.
I personalize every lesson, and always set goals for my students. Most of my violin students are members of the Florida Youth Orchestra as well as the Gold Coast Youth Orchestra and my piano students participate in Pompano Beach Piano competition and the annual Piano Guild auditions. I teach any age and any level, and always stress that learning a new instrument is very similar to learning a new language, it needs a lot of patience, persistence and repetitions. My lessons are customized to my students needs, and are work in progress as they needs may change over time. I always remind my students that music can give them instant gratification when they learn to play favorite songs. I always encourage my students to tell me about their music preferences, so I can incorporate them in their music lessons.
*** Lesson Details *** All my tutoring sessions include reviews of previously learned material and if possible the use of technology. I use students books but often bring extra study materials if necessary. All my lessons include technique and reading music. I like to use the Finger Power for piano students and Essential Elements for my string students, and scales for both. Music theory: I use Master Theory and Fundamentals of Piano Theory books for younger ages, Alfred's music flash cards to support learning notes and musical terminology, and of course the fun part performance.
Besides Essential Elements for strings I also use String Tunes and I Can Read Music to add more fun to the lessons as well as support reading music during the lesson. For piano students I use Holiday Treats book, which comes in 2 different levels: Beginner & Intermediate, so my students have a new songs for a specific holiday.
*** Studio Equipment *** I always bring violin with me to be able to show what I teach.
*** Travel Equipment *** The students need to have their books and assigned material ready for tutoring. Instrumental students needs to have their music books, flashcards & instrument available as well as a pencil. I always stress with my students to be organized and prepared for their lesson, this way they will be able to focus better during the lesson. I always bring my violin with me. I also ask that the room where the lesson takes place be free of any distractions, such other siblings or any other noise. The quiet environment helps in faster learning.
*** Specialties *** I tutor most K-12 subjects and prepare students to take ACT, SAT, GRE tests. Music genres: Classical, traditional, Suzuki, Popular, Celtic, fiddle, Blues
I'm sorry, I cannot handle this Instructor for my children. She wasn't me but she's not quite the people person I expected. Her personality is not a good match for a high school tutor. Unfortunately her English is not good enough. Her accent is entirely too strong. Also she does not know enough Geometry to help my kids.

I'm a graduate of UCLA School of Engineering with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering. I have a passion for explaining how the physical world works through math and physics along with 10 years of tutoring experience in those subjects, test prep, and mentorship programs. The teaching strategy I believe in emphasizes subject fundamentals, a powerful and necessary tool for higher problem solving. This strategy has proven effective regardless of the student's educational background or mental ability. Besides being knowledgeable, I am motivating, caring, and patient in guiding your student to academic success!
Executive Functioning is a separate realm that tutoring can assist in. It deals with cognitive processes including organization, time management, and study skills. Much of the difficulty students face in academic subjects can be attribute
d to the lack of executive functioning. They either cannot keep up with the pace and workload that advanced courses demand or haven't figured out the best way to study for themselves. I am able to assess a student's shortcomings and formulate a plan for higher achievement.

Math doesn't need to be hard, you can understand it and even have fun with it! Math is my favorite subject and one that I have been tutoring for several years. While I aim for comprehension over scores, grades typically improve with comprehension. In each tutoring session, you can choose to receive homework help, test preparation, or extra practice that I can supply.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from North Dakota State University in 2012. Since graduating, I have tutored various subjects with Varsity Tutors (online platform) and have tutored both in person and online for learners ranging from elementary age to adults working towards a Masters degree.
I serve as the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) NDSU section Counselor, a position I volunteered for in 2014, providing a link between college engineering students and the professional world. Other volunteer work includes teaching sessions at Expanding Your Horizons. This is an event to introduce middle school girls to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields.
Ashley strives to deliver the best learning environment possible working with each student individually on a case by case basis. You can really tell she wants you to succeed and is ready to accommodate most student's schedules. Ashley really tries hard to make things work and most importantly treats everyone with an upfront honesty, not often seen in today's society.
Mathematics is not nightmare. It is the most interesting subject but condition is when you learn with right approach. Contact your right teacher and solve your problems.
Teaching is my passion. I am a professor for last nine years. I am professor of Finance. I Believe a teacher’s responsibility is to understand student and make them understand the subject. If a student fails, it’s a failure of a teacher. Every student is unique and they learn in unique way. I am also involve in research for last 10 years. I have presented piece of my reaserch in prestigious institutions like Harvard university. I am also dedicated to creative writing and teach calligraphy. I have received many awards for my creative writing at various places.
I believe that students should be given an opportunity to be shown how to practice. This is so that when the instructor is not there to guide, the student is able to know step-by-step of what they are supposed to do.

Vivian was very helpful! She easily guided me through the initial lesson beginning with basic tuning, hand and finger position, posture and we were playing some basic music by the end of even that first lesson.
With over 8 years experience in tutoring, I have learned what methods work and those that don’t. I’m upbeat, patient, easy going, empathetic, and generally well-liked by others. I’m very good at adapting to different learning styles and have a knack for eliciting the best out of my students through motivation and positive reinforcement.
Throughout university, and after, I mentored many students with great results. In addition to academics I helped them get the most out of their college experience. Everyone I helped benefited greatly, and one runs a very successful consulting business.
At my university tutoring center I helped other students with math and business math (Finite) that dealt with probability and matrices.
Aside from math and English, I’m a very proficient test and note taker. I speak conversational Spanish, and basic Japanese.
Whether you're completely lost, just need a little help, or need some test/note taking tips I can be very helpful. My patient, easy going, and positive mindset is very conducive to creating a great learning atmosphere. I can also be very useful to those that aren't motivated, I have a knack for finding the source of motivation for others.
Are you frustrated with the college application process? I can assist in this area and in aclimating to college environment. I've mentored many students through college, with great success.
Within the past five years, I have tutored high school students in various math topics including geometry, algebra 1, algebra 2, and trigonometry. My strengths are in math topics. I helped teach a college anatomy lab course at High Point University before I moved to Florida. Each student that I worked with learned in a different way, so I strive to alter my tutoring style to meet the needs of the individual while meeting the class expectations. I am currently studying education at the University of Central Florida. My current classes teach new ways to convey information to a variety of students across settings and subjects. My lessons are fun and I use examples that the student can relate to.

"Alex is an amazing tutor. Working with him was a great experience. Alex identified and targeted my weaknesses in math; he reinforced whatever basics I was
missing and then worked from there to polish my skills. He even worked on notes for me on his own time.
Alex was everything I needed in a tutor."
"Whenever I needed help in math, Mrs. Naugle was the person I would turn to. She set up an encouraging environment where I was never afraid to ask for help
because I knew that she would explain everything to me in a way that would ensure that I’d have a better grasp on the concepts that I was either completely confused on or just needed slight explanation to understand it fully."
"She was really great, smart, funny-easy to work with."
"Ariel is a compassionate and hard working tutor. If you want to have quick improvements in math (It was Calculus 2 for me), definitely ask him for help."
"Had so much problem with my basics. Akib has been patient and helped me clear things out. thanks a bunch!"
"Very knowledgeable and attentive math teacher. Had both of my kids attending her classes and very satisfied."
"Great tutor. Was Tutoring my son for elementary school math. Gave him confidence and knowledge. Unfortunately we had to stop with Julia because we m
oved out of the area. I wish she was still my son's tutor."
"Colin is amazing. I was preparing to take the AFOQTS and my first score was 70... I scheduled lessons with Colin and 2 weeks later I scored a 98 on the ac
tual test! Colin was extremely good at communicating with me, being flexible in our lessons and adopting what he was teaching to exactly what I needed. Like me he had to "relearn" math as an adult and because of that he is able to explain things so that they make sense logically rather than give formulas to memorize like my horrible public school teachers.
I really cannot recommend him enough, thank you for all your help Colin!"
