I have being taking English classes since I was 6 years old, all the way to the second year of college. It ranged from the basics, of course, to grammar, phrases, and literature. Some of the requirements for graduation were to write poems, essays and opinions on novels or scripts and the history of literature in the United States, Spain and Puerto Rico. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with minors in French, Spanish and English. I have been teaching English as a second language (ESL) for over 2 years now. It started with a friend and fellow teacher's request to teach 2 Spanish-speaking small business owners which wanted to speak English fluently to communicate with their customers. They are the ones who have inspired me to add this subject here at WyzAnt to give others the opportunity to learn with me. They were very satisfied and are doing better in their businesses. What they like the most about my lessons is that I don't teach using boring grammar, verb conjugation ...
Doing what I love: teaching, training, interacting with people. I retired from the army after 28 years of active and reserve military service, so now I have time to do privately what I did for the army for so many years: teach and train people. For many years I presented seminars in Spanish and E

I am a native Arabic speaker, I have always had a passion for Arabic like I've never had for anything else. Teaching Arabic isn't something I do just as a job, but also something I really enjoy, and passing on that passion and joy to another person is a pleasure.
Hello ! My name is Aya, I am a Native Arabic speaker. I teach formal or classical Arabic (فصحة). I'm also fluent in the Syrian dialect. I have been teaching for a little over three years now. Although I enjoy working with children the most, I've worked with different age groups in the past. I belie

Portuguese is the language of Bossa Nova (a new trend), and Fado and Saudade (deep nostalgic feeling). I have been teaching Portuguese for over five years, and, as a native Spanish speaker, I've learned Portuguese from the ground up, just like my students.
My students not only go on to make new friends, but acquire new critical views that become very useful when searching for new professional opportunities.
I use a communicative approach and I highly value students' personal experiences when creating a lesson. I love to teach all ages, from beginner to advance.
I have a Master degree in Romance Languages (Spanish and Portuguese). I use a communicative methodology, which emphasizes interaction, so you will learn in context (asking for coffee, or talking about your family), and a student centered approach, which is based in your personal goals. My class

As a fully qualified Chinese teacher I have been teaching Mandarin for 16 years in both China and the United States. I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of Mandarin skills.
For adult learners, speaking Chinese does not seem easy, but I can help you understand and master the tones of the Chinese phonetic alphabet in a short time. Within the first few lessons, you'll start speaking simple sentences and, as time goes by, you'll be able to use Mandarin like a pro!
For young learners, we can start by recognizing the Chinese characters, or singing Chinese children's songs.
If you are an advanced Chinese learner, we can practise reading some Chinese articles and discuss the topics. I also specialize in Chinese writing so, if you need to improve your writing skills, I can help you.
I love working with students of all levels and look forward to seeing you soon.
About Qian( Sophie)
Hello, My name is Qian Li. I have 16 years experience as a Mandarin Chinese teacher in both China and the United States. I have worked in the States teaching Mandarin as a second language to K-12 level and college students for 6 years. I also hosted a Distance Chinese class for beginners at Portlan
From my standpoint Teacher Sophie has been a very diligent and patient tutor willing to spend a great deal of time with a student who needs regular repetition and practice. Given that my business travel requires regular visits to China, Teacher Sophie has focused on practical day to day Mandarin that has proven very helpful as I navigate Maritime business dealings throughout China.
For my daughter, Teacher Sophie has geared up her tutoring to include more intensive vocabulary and a refresher program. Given that my daughter is in a high school now that does not offer Mandarin, this type of refresher course is very valuable.
I strongly recommend Teacher Sophie as a Mandarin tutor at any level of instruction.

With three different writing systems, learning Japanese can be confusing for beginners. It's much easier to break the systems down, and focus on one at a time. Here, Japanese teacher Kaoru N. shares his tips to help you learn hiragana... There are three types of letters in the Japanese language: hiragana, katakana, and kanji. Hiragana and katakana are based on sounds and pronunciation. In kanji, each character has its own meaning. Hiragana characters are the most fundamental and basi …
