As a child I watched from the doorway as my older sister took her piano lessons. From that experience I taught myself to play the piano. My formal training came in college where I received my BA in Applied Music in piano and voice. I studied classical music and opera from a visiting professor from Peabody Conservatory, Baltimore MD. I graduated with honors and gave my Town Hall performance in the Spring of my Senior year. I had a passionate desire to be involved in music, to hear it and to perform it. I spent several years singing with the San Diego Opera Company, performing lead roles in Musical Theater and soloing in concerts from Monterrey to San Diego, CA. While still a student in college, I taught piano to children from the local community, so I have accumulated decades of teaching experience. Nothing brings me greater pleasure than
to see individuals "blossom" into their creative selves. Whether it is for a student's own enjoyment, audition preparation, recital performance or ongoing piano or voice development, I am committed to engaging you in an experience of learning and fun. It may be the biggest thrill of your lifetime!

i recently came out of an audition and I sang my musical pieces better than I've ever done them before! The auditioner sat me down at the end and said he loves my voice. He said, based on how much he liked my pieces and how well I did that he would like to extend an early invitation for callbacks for the program! I really have Patricia to thank for that. She has helped me improve my voice by leaps and bounds in the time that i have been working with her and its amazing to get such immediate and rewarding results. I CAN NOT THANK PATRICIA ENOUGH! SHE COULD NOT HAVE PREPARED ME ANY BETTER AND IM SO GRATEFUL THAT I GET TO WORK WITH HER!!
I am a highly organized, outcome-driven and motivated professional musician and educator with solid experience in the classroom. For the past 25 years, I have been employed with Amati music academy and seven years on the faculty of University of St Francis. I am very comfortable with all aspects of the current music syllabus, including teaching musical concepts (such as duration, pitch, dynamics, tone color, texture and structure) as well as performance, composition. I am fully qualified, with a Bachelor of Education in Music, Double Masters in music performance and education from University of Nottingham. I am proficient in classical, jazz and Celtic fiddle violin and possess solid skills in piano (grade 8-13) Royal conservatory system. Throughout my teaching career, I have been driven to help students achieve their very best. I str
ongly believe that music has the power to change lives – to enhance the social, cultural and spiritual lives of people, and serve as a profound medium of personal expression. Professional perform experience: The Chicago, Natalie Cole, Smokey Robinson, Three tours with Moody Blues, YoYo Ma etc.... The most important thing I look for in a student is communication skills, as well as talent. I like to nurture students and help identify their individual strengths, which is a key factor in shaping a musical persona that will make its mark both on and offstage. I do not advocate a uniform technique for all students. Physical differences and learning styles are always taken into consideration. Potential is as important to me as early achievements and experience. My goal is to help students become self-sufficient, discriminating artists. I discuss practice techniques often and develop individualized scale routines. I encourage initiative and expressive musicality as well as precision. Above all, music needs to bring obvious joy to the student, regardless of the difficulties.”

I am in New York City and accepting new students as well as reconnecting with anyone who wants to return. I have two graduate degrees: one in Music and the other in Dance and Theater studies. My undergraduate degree is from The Juilliard School, in Dance.
I've taught children and grown ups for many years. I have a strong performing career and love the way teaching keeps me in a giving and learning place.
*** Lesson Details *** With beginning students I am very laid back and patient and believe strongly that in the play of games and experiments technique will develop and manifest. As the student becomes more advanced I become more demanding as do the materials.
As an Acting teacher I have the capacity to take students along all the way to professional and beyond. I'm a member of the Actors Studio, the performing unions and ha
ve studied since childhood at ACT and then all over the world including The National in London.
For Dance, I have a wide knowledge and can teach several forms as well as history and materials. I also teach Ballet and many forms of Modern Dance. I adore teaching dance composition. To help a dance student make their own dances is very fulfilling. I also teach choreography or composition. One of the aspects of dance composition that has recently captivated me is the composing of sound and music for the dance that is also being made. Using software, we can explore electroacoustic as well as language and text collage as sound score for your dance. It is super fun!!!
For the Visual Arts I teach Abstract Painting as well as Installation and Performance Art. *** Studio Equipment *** I have supplies and space. Visual Art students need to contribute to materials by finding or purchasing whatever they like and adding to the mix. My students are welcome to use what I have here and I am always adding materials. Many people throw away materials that are perfectly good for art making so keep your eyes open and you'll find all kinds of good things. Visual Art students need to book a 2 hour minimum and I will lower the price if you just let me know you need it.
My fees: I start at a higher fee and after you've been a regular student we can lower the fee for you if you need.
*** Travel Equipment *** just a space to work in - we can create a work space out of any space.
*** Specialties *** In dance I teach classical ballet principles for beginners or those who are returning and want to work carefully and privately. I teach from the tradition of Alfredo Corvino's principles of relationship to organic forms and structures for sound development. I studied with Mr Corvino for years and continue to study with Ernesta Corvino. For acting I teach a combination of classical acting technique with American sense memory and relaxation skills. I am well versed in the teachings of Lee Strasberg and then spent time in London to 'fill in the cracks' of my training with analytical skills as well as the various european influences that the Royal National embrace. I teach creative discovery in combination with classical devices so the student can discover their own artistry while learning actual classical devices for accomplishing specific goals.
I LOVE teaching. I'm an award-winning artist and I've taught watercolor & drawing for 20+ years. I've taught students of all ages from the US & Italy. I've taught at Cleveland Botanical Garden, Missouri Botanical Garden, Illinois Central College, in churches, libraries, home schools, & at Harvard University Extension School, Cambridge, MA. We will paint or draw what appeals to YOU...from oceans to flowers to abstracts to landscapes to seascapes, etc. --or we can focus on one technique that interests you or "the basics."
Some of my students are now professional artists & some have become art teachers. The materials can be simple. For drawing, we’ll use drawing tools (pencils, charcoal, etc) a great eraser, & paper. For watercolor painting, we'll use a couple of good quality brushes, about 6 paint colors, watercolor paper, water and a
palette. Ta-Da! You’re ready to go. (I’ll provide a detailed supply list for enrolled students.)
One hour and I learned 5 new things, learned how to arrange my palette for en plein air, and had fun!

Jane is extremely friendly and made me feel at ease immediately. She listened to my questions and responded quickly. While I have worked in other media this is my first in watercolors. I look forward to more lessons.
I love people! I enjoy teaching and training, listening and learning, meeting new people and discovering new things. As a Creative Director south of Nashville, I make time to work with children and adults, teaching drawing, photography, Adobe Creative Suite and other creative computer skills. I also coach soccer in Nolensville, TN. My own art reflects a passion for people, as I am primarily a portrait artist in photography as well as with pencil, pen and ink, and watercolor. I started with teaching art classes in High school, then as part of wilderness trips in the white mountains, teaching creative survival skills. I work often with youth athletics and skills training, with the children in my church, and all ages as a mentor, tutor, and coach outside of regular business hours... Lately I have been helping photographers and models build
their brand identity with pictures. - - What are your creative needs?

I'm a fine and digital artist and have been teaching art for over 9 years experience. Both my undergraduate and graduate degrees are in art and art history. I studied at The School of Visual Arts in NYC. My goal is to mentor students in the creation of visual arts to develop their creative skills and techniques. I believe art is an extremely important form of communication and can also be a healing therapy.
As an Emmy award winning animation artist with 27 years in the animation industry, I founded the non profit, EDU DESIGNS, to bring the arts back into schools. Check out my blog there for more information.
I created the first Art Textbook to reference Math Standards to help teachers without an art background share skills with students that expand their ability to see what they are looking at.
My art presentations, videos and lessons help thousands of teachers and students improve character development and increase motivation for learning.
Stories are a powerful vehicle to impact a child's mind and develop positive character. In the animation industry I brought other people's stories into being. Now I mentor younger artists to learn the skills required to bring their dreams into reality.
Ruth brings her years of professional training & experience along with a humble, cheerful, teacherly personality. She is a jewel and I count myself very lucky to have found such a genuine & gifted artist.

Greetings! Do you love to draw or paint either digitally or with traditional mediums? Do you or your kids love cartoons, anime/manga, or comics? How about figure drawing, or lovely nature landscapes? Drawing animals perhaps? How about portraits? Well, if you answered 'yes!' to any of these, then I'm the art teacher for you.
My name is Emily Cammisa, and I follow Bob Ross's philosophy that art is a pursued interest, and anyone who has that invested interest and willingness to practice the craft can get good at it. I've helped people of all ages go from saying "I can't even draw a stick figure!" to "I can't believe I did that!" as they proudly show me their work. I have a bachelor's degree in fine art from Skidmore College and 10 years experience with freelance illustration work and teaching. My goal is to share my love of art with you
and build your artistic skill level to wherever you want it to be. Whether it's just a hobby, or a potential career for you, I'm here to help.
What age groups do I teach, you ask? Well, I love teaching kids 5+ and adults alike how to draw and color like a professional artist. I also specialize in teaching people with autism. There's no better therapy than art; it truly is food for the soul. I also make my lessons very affordable and convenient by traveling to my student's homes with all the art supplies every week; rain, snow, or shine. I also teach at the College of Saint Rose every July, so I'm great with large groups in addition to doing private lessons.
Sound good? Great! Let's get drawing and painting. I look forward to bringing out the creativity in you (or your kids!)
Emily works with my son developing his drawing skills before he leaves for college to study digital animation. He really needed to work on illustration skills and Emily has been amazing! I can’t believe how quickly his skills are improving!! But more importantly to me is that my son enjoys the lessons. He is very comfortable working with Emily and his confidence has grown in the process! I can not speak highly enough about Emily as a teacher!! She has a very calm and supportive approach which is perfect for my son. My son does not drive so it is really convenient that she is willing to travel to my house for lessons!
March 30, 2019
I found the class very helpful and enjoyable. I've made a lot of progress and it really helps that it's one on one.

She really has a wonderful way of connecting with her students and is supportive of their art style. I would highly recommend Emily!
