I’ve been playing guitar for 18 years. Ive been doing it for a living for 16 years. Acoustic, electric, rock, jazz, country, funk, lead, rhythm, flatpick, fingerpick...pick a style I’ve played it. My lesson plan will expand your knowledge of chords and scales, and how to use them. I’ll give you exercises to increase speed, dexterierity. You’ll learn music theory while learning your favorite songs, and learn how to apply your knowledge to make learning and writing new songs easier. You will learn something new every lesson, and see noticeable progress after the first couple of sessions.

I have been playing and performing on horn for more than 25 years. I have performed with the 2002 Olympic Band, the Utah Premier Brass, the Utah Valley Symphony, the Grand Junction Centennial Band, and many ensembles at both Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University.

In addition, I have been teaching horn for more than 20 years and have developed a large toolbox for helping students in a variety of ways. I can easily recognize what is causing issues and provide many recommendations for how to fix it.

Be a stronger, more confident horn player by taking lessons with me. Also- we'll have a lot of fun!

My 9-year old daughter's first lesson was great! Paul was patient as he showed her how to tune and play her guitar. She has never played or taken lessons, and this first experience set her up for to enjoy playing, an taking more lessons.

Hello, my name is Brooke Shoup and I specialize in functional piano playing at the beginner and intermediate levels. Classical approaches to teaching music focus only on site reading (reading music) and technique (scales, etc.) which can prove to be discouraging and boring for a beginner, especially in children. This leads to less result and often times loss of interest in the instrument all together.

Functional piano playing considers site reading, music theory, ear training, and technique from the beginner level which invites the student to play real songs that they enjoy quickly. I give my students the foundational tools they need to play their instrument, but I engage them in a way that sparks creativity, keeps interest, and has them learning music rather than just playing songs.

About Brooke

I believe that making music should be a fun and creative experience. I specialize in teaching piano functionally which means helping you to learn the type of music you want to play as quickly as possible while giving you the tools to add your own style to a piece. When a new student is learning m

"I have been taking lessons with Jimmy now for over 2 years. Jimmy's understanding and patience goes above and beyond what you can ask for in a teacher and mentor. Every time I step foot into his studio I walk out inspired to want to learn more and create. Jimmy will change gears during a lesson if the student wants to go in a different direction that day. Nothing throws him off and I know he has his students best interest at heart! I have taken lessons with another teacher in the past and I have never had the personalization that I have with Jimmy. His availability goes above and beyond and is always available if you have any questions. You will learn so much and be so inspired to make music!"

"I've had weekly acoustic guitar lessons as an adult beginner for a little over a month now. I consider Brandon to be an outstanding instructor for several reasons: He makes it a point to understand my interests & goals, and always keeps the lesson plans moving in this direction. Brandon is patient with the learning process, and he also keeps things dynamic and challenging with a good balance of music theory, technical skills development, and application. Each lesson pulls me out of my comfort zone but he is careful not to overwhelm me. It's a pleasure to be instructed by someone who is so highly proficient with such a deep understanding of music, and who also wants to share their knowledge and experience with others to help them grow. I highly recommend Brandon."

I started my vocal journey with Stephen just about two years ago, from scratch. Under his professional guidance, I have already landed my first 3 regional theater shows, AND my first major role of Val in "A Chorus Line"! Stephen's lessons are always fun, efficient, and he has a keen sense on how to best help me in my professional growth. As a dancer who sings, I look forward to seeing what lies ahead in my vocal training and career!"

She is knowledgable, is very tuned into MY pace, and has the flexibility I need with my unpredictable scheduling needs. Why Taking (Video) Voice Lessons from Christina Aguilera is a Bad Idea

Can you learn to sing through videos, like the ones advertised with Christina Aguilera? Read on for voice teacher Elaina R.'s thoughts...  Have you seen the online ads offering a voice lesson course taught by Christina Aguilera? Promos for the course have inundated many Facebook feeds, and since I know many professional singers and voice teachers, I’ve been able to watch them react to the ads. Most voice teachers have been amused, terrified, or both by the prospect of people learnin …
