I started sewing at age 8 (thanks mom!)

I have a degree in technical theatre with an emphasis in costume design and technology. I design costumes for community theatres, opera companies and drag queens.

I helped teach sewing and costuming during my degrees. I believe in starting beginners with familiarizing themselves with their machines and how to read patterns.

I would love to share my years of experience designing, sewing and crafting with you!

About Jessica
Music and the arts have been a large part of my life since I was a child.

I have performed in numerous operas, musicals and plays. Favorite roles include the Witch in Into the Woods, Agathe in Der Freischutz, the Countess in Marriage of Figaro, and Fastrada in Pippin.

I have a degrees in Opera Directing, Vocal Performance and Theatre Arts. I started teaching acting classes in 2001, and have coached voice since 2010. I have studied voice with James Gardner, former head of opera at Julliard School of Music, Matthew Oglesby, vocal area coordinator for the WTAMU School of Music, and Darlene Wiley, head of voice department at Butler School of Music, UT and William Lewis, dramatic tenor with 35 years experience singing at the Metropolitan Opera.

I direct operas, design costumes, teach whenever and whatever I can, and love spending
time with my cat.

The way that I teach is to help the student develop their own style. My first goal is to give my students all of the tools they need to feel confident from the very first lesson. We start with the fundamentals of hand-sewing and make our way up, all this with a mixture of fun, listenting and patience.

About Alexandra
I love learning and teaching languages and although I studied law I really prefer teaching languages (I speak 5 languages) and sewing (another of my favourite hobbies) love travelling and photography.

I will be happy to answer the questions which arise in between your one-on-one lessons. In short, I will do everything I can to increase your rate of language acquisition.

It goes without saying that I love to teach! I have an easy-going personality and a positive attitude. Learning such a beautiful and multifaceted language as Spanish or Romanian will be fun with me. I love travelling, I have hosted many exchange students, so I have developed good communication and creativity skills.

I will encourage your interest and curiosity into the different cultures by using amusing topics during the session, which will automatically imp
rove your experience.

I am able to communicate with students at a very personal level . I am very passionate and enthusiastic to get them to learn. I will also promote study habits.

I have a lot of nice material and is interested in what people have to say and their needs. I am friendly and kind; I try to correct students making sure they don't feel embarrassed. I makes people feel comfortable, and encourages them to participate and learn, -even the shy ones. I enjoy the class as much as you.

Alexandra was professional and kind. She very patiently helped me through some technical problems with the camera on my laptop. She immediately recognized the problems I was having on my crocheting project and got me on the right track. She’s friendly and put me at ease right away. A very pleasant and informative session.

Hello there. My experience with the QiGong is one of beginning to pass on the great training I have had. Not only in the QiGong. It is the strength and beauty of movement in other martial arts, yoga, nature hikes.

*Please note...I am in the process of getting another video intro by me. Signing up for a series of lessons though will most likely answer all questions though. Healing movement...questions answered at a rate of a couple a week...additional material provided if you you would like.

My background with the arts, holistic practitioning, home education based on waldorf model, and even clothing design and making enhance the interaction we have.

Bringing forth from past experiences to you. This movement helps with weight i
ssues, actively helps eliminate back issues, and can help to eliminate other physical issues.

I look forward to working with you. In a way that you can express to me as well any goals further than an authentic QiGong practice to start.

Sincerely,

I've been sewing since I was a child. It was something I learned from my grandmother and also self-taught. I'll teach you how to set up your machine, install zippers, create darts and follow patterns along with many other techniques. If you have a specific idea in mind and want to learn how to accomplish it, I'll work with you to complete that sewing goal.

About Sarah
I'm a life-long learner and avid seamstress. I have been sewing since I was a young child and learned from my grandmother basic hand sewing. From there I learned other techniques through books, trial and error, and hands-on classes how to sew professional looking garments, quilts and bags.

I love everything about sewing from the ideas to the creation. It is a slow process and can be a lot of fun if you take your time and can enjoy the process. I want to teach others this amazing skill.

I'm an experience seamstress focused on plus sizes with about 15 years of sewing projects under my belt. I'm a home sewist who does it for fun, but I've started moving into making clothes for friends and family due to high demand. If you want to learn to make a pillow, pajama pants, or a quick skirt, I can help you do it! I specialize in plus size sewing, so if you're looking to make something that works on your body that's a bit more complicated, I can take you through the adjustments you need. Sewing has changed how I see my body-- I hope it helps you too!

About Kathleen
I started sewing when I was in elementary school! My Mom used to make Halloween costumes with me. When I got really into anime I wanted to attend comic book conventions in cosplay (costume) and my Mom decided that this was a bridge too far, so it was time for me to learn to sew myself.

Now I have 10 years of continuous experience sewing for myself, friends, and family. I've made seasonal pillow covers, tiny shirts for my little cousins, and lots of dresses for my Mom. (How the tables have turned!)

I would love to help you discover how fun and easy sewing can be. If you're a curvy woman, like I am, buying clothes that fit can be super frustrating. That's why I went from sewing costumes to making day-to-day clothes for myself. It can seem intimidating at first, but most women just need some basic adjustments on every pattern to make them
fit perfectly. I promise your wardrobe will never be the same again!
