I am a very passionate and dedicated instructor. I love working with students at all levels and ages, from beginners to experienced adults. It doesn't matter where you are in your musical development, I can help and encourage you to be your very best. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Sydney Australia with (High Class Honors) and Majored in Music Performance and Sub Majors in Composition and Theatre. I have had the opportunity to perform in the USA at various venues and overseas in Australia at the Sydney Opera House to name a few. My teaching experience dates back to my University days. I was in my first year of my music degree when I applied for my first teaching position at a music school in Australia. I taught there throughout the Four years of my
I teach classical piano and performance. I have many students that are also taking vocal lessons, and I teach them easy steps for them to begin to accompany themselves.
I love to use mnemonics and rhymes as a tool in learning, especially in the beginning. I stress lots of practice but lots of fun. I ensure my students understand that they will reach their goals if they trust in the process. I use a tender touch approach as oppose to tough love because that's what always worked best for me. I received training in classical piano and clarinet, as well as music theory over a period of 11 years, and performed and perfected my skill for many more after that. I studied music theory and performance for both instruments at Florida International University. *** Lesson Details *** From week to week we begin each lesson with students playing what they practice and learned in the previous lesson. I use the Alfred's Piano Library as a basic course for ...
I have been playing the piano since I was 5 years old. I believe it is a great foundation for learning the fundamentals of music and a gateway to learning other instruments. I have developed a fun and effective approach to learning the piano. By learning to read music, count rhythms, develop good technique, and of course your favorite songs, you will be activating so many parts of the brain which is extremely nourishing for young developing minds. I am confident in my teaching method and always very encouraging and inspirational to my students.
With almost 20 years of music education experience, I have developed a super fun and effective teaching method that has proven to work. I am a kid at heart and love working with children. And as the oldest child of 6, I possess the necessary patience and enthusiasm for their learning development. In addition, I have worked with many adult students who initially thought it was "too late" for them to learn an instrument. They proved themselves wrong and were very successful with their new found talent. I have been a professional recording artist and live performer since the age of 15. I began teaching around the same time as a way of earning extra spending money. As the years went on, I fell more in love with teaching and formed a career out of it. So come join me on this musical journey ...
With four wonderful years of musical teaching experience, I share my gifts and talents with those who too want to express themselves through music. I believe music is worldwide language and so do not intend to stifle any students individual style or sound with technique. Instead I allow the student to take the lessons and techniques learned and together we find ways to adapt to that style so that their best 'musical picture' is heard. Apart from teaching, I enjoy singing at my own gigs, doing backgrounds for other artists, and working on new music for production in the studio. I have produced my debut album in 2007 and have released two new singles marketed to the Caribbean/reggae/Latin genre. I have directed elementary and middle school choirs and led the musicianship of musicals. I ...
