Jarrod V.

Hilton Head Island, SC

About Jarrod

My name is Jarrod V. I am a graduate of the University of Rhode Island Music Program. I currently teach music in Jamestown, RI. I also manage and play saxophone in a six-piece funk/reggae band that tours the north-east. We were recently recognized as "Band Of The Year" in Southern New England. I have performed on stage with members of the Grateful Deal and the Allman Brothers. I have also opened for acts such as P-Funk, Buddy Guy, the Violent Femmes, Johnny Winter and the Spin Doctors.
If you are looking to master your instrument and learn how to perform on stage, I am the right teacher
for you! I feel I have a great deal of enthusiasm and knowledge to offer to my students, and if given the opportunity, I will make a great musician out of you!

*** Lesson Details ***
Through my lessons, you will learn music theory, music history and music performance. I am very outgoing, personable and friendly, and I will motivate you to be a great musician!
I have experience with piano, voice, drums, trumpet, saxophone and many other instruments... we can work on everything from stage presence to mastering your instrument to playing different instruments and becoming a versatile musician. I have access to a great library of music books, theory and history worksheets and other literature that will help us attain rock-star status! If you are looking for a fun, motivating, professional teacher, you have found the right guy!

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have access to keyboards, saxophones, piano and basic drum equipment, as well as internet access and speakers for listening. It is a great environment to learn and play!

*** Travel Equipment ***
I have some drum equipment, books, pencils/paper, keyboards, saxophone... I would expect the student to invest in a workbook, maybe an inexpensive keyboard for practice purposes (for piano lessons), and other items depending on what we are studying. I can provide most of the materials, though.

*** Specialties ***

Great Teacher

Sebastian is having an amazing time with his teacher Jarrod. He looks forward to his lessons and practices very hard at home not only because he loves the drums but because he wants to impress his teacher. Jarrod is a smart and very talented instructor, he explains everything well and allows the student to feel comfortable embrace the lessons easily. Sebastian has a blast and grasps everything quickly thanks to Jarrod. He's an amazing musician and Sebastian is very happy and lucky to have him as an instructor.
