It's hard getting the songs inside you out. That's what I'm here for. I recently graduated from Penn State with a degree in music, where I intricately studied songwriting techniques, the way songwriting is woven into the music itself, and released some of my own work onto major streaming platforms. I've had plenty of bouts with writer's block and I can help you find ways to get past them too! I'd love to talk about music with you!
About Casey
My name is Casey Brown, and I'm a musician from the greater Philadelphia area. I graduated cum laude from Penn State with a bachelors focused in Music Entrepreneurship. Though guitar has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, college is where I learned to write, sing, record, produce,

I’m a professional singer-songwriter, performing and recording artist. I signed my first publishing deal in Los Angeles in 2004 and spent three years studying music at the Biola Conservatory of Music. I left school to jump on my first tour, opening for Kate Voegele and the Veronicas. I toured the U.S and Europe for many years opening for such acts as: Damien Rice, Colbie Caillat, Andy Grammer and Gavin Rossdale. During that time, I also wrote, recorded and released my own songs as well as songs for film and television. My songs have been placed on: Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill, Macy’s (Thanksgiving and Christmas campaigns), Catfish (The Movie), Kleenex, Pringles, So You Think You Can Dance, The Blacklist, Teen Wolf and Hemlock Grove, GUILT, the Runaways and The Rook.
In 2012, I began writing with Michelle Branch and realized my love for co-writing lyrics! Though melody is equally as important as lyrics, I love diving into the story, poetry and the words each specific artist is ...

Though we have this cool stuff to work with; the focus is putting together a solid song; and considering and using the multi facets of putting together an awesome song.
( For example: Do you have a goal; a message you want to stand for? Does this song oppose anything you stand for as a person? Is your message clear in the song? Is it catchy, or how can I make this melody catchy? Is current sounding?)
For this private class/lesson I use the materials:
The Songwriter's Workshop: Melody & The Songwriter's Workshop: Harmony, by Jimmy Kachulis (In which I directly studied under him in college)
Jimmy Kachulis studied songs that were in the top tier of the billboard charts over the past few decades; and as a musician broke them down to understand what made them what they were, and put it ...

I believe that, where words fall short, there are infinite ways to express the human heart through music. It is my goal to teach introduction and advancement of musical knowledge in piano and songwriting through technique, theory, and regularly learning new skills. While taking lessons, students will learn to play piano and read music, develop discipline through consistent lessons and practice, and develop a sense of pride and accomplishment.
I have 5 years of piano-teaching experience. I have been writing songs for over a decade. I own a piano studio called Mrs. M's Piano Magic, as well as a songwriting business called A Song For You.

Randy has worked with my partner and I for 15 years. He took our melodies, arranged them, and turned them into songs that were actually singable. Watching Randy run a rehearsal and teach people songs is a sight to behold. He makes it happen quickly and efficiently, and we always have fun.
In all sincerity, I consider Randy to be the most talented musician I've ever known. He is a great teacher, even of inexperienced adults, and fun to work with. A winning combination all the way around.
