It took me more than 2 months of trying to find a piano instructor that not only fit my criteria in what I was looking to learn; but also my personality. Classical, music theory, modern... you name it. Im so lucky to have found Ms. Chanel at Studio Nar. My experience with Ms. Chanel has been more than a 5 star experience. We started working together in-home/studio, then transitioned to online due to the pandemic. My online experience has been wonderful as well. I recommend both the studio and Ms Chanel to all piano levels! Thank You Ms Chanel!

I am retirement age. Chanel is my third singing voice teacher (others were in person) and after only three lessons I feel I’ve learned a lot. She is an excellent singing teacher because she has patience, empathy and “personalized” the lessons to accommodate my pace of learning.. I’m happy I found her.

Stephanie is a wonderful voice teacher! This is my first time taking lessons and she has made it comfortable (even though I was shy at first) and so much fun! You can tell she really cares about her students and loves what she does. Thank you, Stephanie!

I can genuinely say Stephanie is the best voice instructor I’ve ever had! Aside from being the sweetest and most encouraging, she knows her technique well and always makes sure to find out what exercises work best for your voice. I noticed improvements within the first few lessons (that I’ve never felt with other instructors). I highly recommend her. The lessons are so much fun! :)

First time playing piano? Resuming after years (decades?) of not playing the piano? No matter your age or experience, you can always learn and improve!

Pop songs, jazz ballads, classical pieces, or movie/game themes, there must be something you are interested in playing and get better!

About Bill

I have always been a self-studier in my entire life. Being able to learn with just books and your brain is a crucial skill to have! However, I know not everyone (and sometimes even myself) have the discipline and motivation to keep going during hard times. This is where a tutor would come in handy.

My main goal is making sure the student is having fun while learning! I cater my lessons around the individual student, because I think that students learn the best doing something they love. I cover the fundamentals - music theory, proper technique, note reading - while incorporating songs and activities the student will enjoy. While every student will learn the basics, I focus in on the student's specific interest during the lesson, whether that's classical music, pop, musical theater, or jazz.

About Nicole

I am a composer, pianist, and vocalist originally from Austin, Texas, currently living in New York City. I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in music composition in May 2020, and I am currently pursuing a masters in composition at New York University. Music has

Nicole started to teach piano lessons to my then 3yo son. She's very professional and as well as accomodating whenever we have conflict with our schedules. She's very patient and good with kids. We've been doing in person lessons with her for years and then this year ,covid happened and also Nicole had to move to NY but we are still doing lessons with her, virtual learning style. We are so glad that even with the current set up,my son, now 7yo, still enjoying and learning more from her.

Fay is such an amazing teacher! I got into Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School thanks to her. Best Teacher I've had, she helps train your voice and goes through the vocal anatomy so you understand techniques such as proper breathing, posture, coordination, grounding, acting, diction...etc. I've been her student for about a year three years now and I have to say that my voice has improved so much as a performer all thanks to her! If you get the chance, at least take a class, you will not regret it!

"Ben is great if you want your child to love piano. He is a fun teacher and was very patient with my son, who was a bit turned off from music due to prior experiences. He actually wrote songs for my son to play since he needed more time at the beginner level. He was great when my son was nervous at recitals and festivals and had strategies to help him deal with nerves."

"Stephanie is one of the best teachers you can possibly find through Takelessons. We are extremely fortunate to have found her. She is a successful professional musician who is very strict yet with a kind heart and skills/experiences to steer students through their learning limitations. I had trouble to make my older daughter to practice piano for years, and almost came to the point to have her given up learning. Stephanie changed everything. Now my older daughter is getting not only serious with piano but practicing harder then ever. I am so happy to see the results. Highly recommend her!!!"

"Lana is an amazing piano teacher! She started teaching our kids when they were very young until they graduated from eighth grade. They are in high school now and no longer take lessons, but they still sit down at the piano to play their repertoire and some new songs. Lana is a professional; she was always prompt for lessons and was very flexible as the kids became busier with school activities and sports. This was important because there never was a point where my kids would have to choose between sports and piano. We loved Lana's patience with the kids, her positive attitude and passion for music and are most grateful for all the years she graced our home to teach our kids a love for piano and music. Lana pushed the kids to perform at higher levels each year. It's still fun to see people's jaws drop when my hockey-playing son sits down at a piano and plays an amazingly difficult piece. Thank you, Lana!"

"When I came to Bill I had hopes and dreams of having the ability to read and play any kind of piano music. As a child I struggled with reading music during 3 years of lessons with a strict classical teacher, but held on to the dream. I have waited over 50 years to live the dream I am fulfilling now. Bill had me reading and playing any piano arrangement I wanted in 3 months. I play classical, gospel, movie themes and more and loving it all. His unique teaching method inspires you with an "I can do this" attitude. He analyzes who you are, your own style and abilities and raises the bar with every lesson. As I play, he shows me how to enhance my performance with every note. He couples insight with knowledge and his 30+ years of experience to create a true pianist. He tells me I am the composer when I play, own the music. He tells me "don't just play the music, become the music". After 2 years of lessons I am living my dream and preparing for concert level opportunities. Whether young or old (I am 73 years old), Bill can inspire and teach you to play. I often wonder where I would be in the music world if he would have been my childhood teacher. I highly recommend Bill to start your child's music foundation on the right track or for yourself - to live your dream too. Thank you Bill for all you do and who you are!"

"Dan is an excellent instructor. My half hr per week under his guidance helps me develop good practice routines; learn music history, & theory. I don't even have to tell him what I've struggled with during my practice sessions (at home) Dan identifies those obstacles and provides tools for improvement. Quite an impressive pro in my estimation. Just what I need to continue my musical journey. Pretty nice guy also."
