I am currently coaching singers who have call back auditions for parts in local Broadway Musical productions.

I have directed the following shows: Oklahoma, Godspell, Three Pennny Opera, Annie Get Your Gun, The Sound of Music and Two by Two.

About Thomas
From the time I began musical training at the age of 5, I knew that music making would always be an important part of my life. It became my muse and I followed it all around the world. I have performed in Japan, England, Scotland, Wales, Italy, France, Austria, and the United States. I know what makes a good musician and a good performer and I'm pleased to be able to share that with my students! MY STUDENTS WIN AUDITIONS! I taught in several of the States and in London. I am also a certified teacher in Missouri, Kansas and other States including England, Scotland and Wales. I hold a Bachelor’s degree and Doctorate from Ball State University, and a Master’s Degree from the University of Bridgeport. I have studied on fellowship at the Aspen Music Festival and University of London. While teaching in London I performed at many famous venues s
uch as Queen Elizabeth Hall, St. John’s Smith Square and Somerset House. I sing at Lyric Opera of Kansas City where I have appeared in over 90 productions. Upcoming: Mozart: Magic Flute, November 9-17, 2013 and Puccini: La Bohème, March 15-23, 2014   I also sing professionally at Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Kansas City. Whether you are seeking coaching on technique, Broadway, Opera or the American Songbook, I would be happy to work with you to realize your full potential. I get excited about helping students become good performers! Let me help you become the best musician you can be, IN PERSON or ONLINE!

*** Lesson Details ***
I am a laid back teacher with a great sense of humor. You will also learn a lot of music theory and music history from me! My lessons begin with some training in reading music (Music Theory) and I suggest that you purchase Alfred's Music Theory Volume One or Two depending on your level of understanding.

After refreshing your music reading and rhythm skills, we will listen to you sing and begin to vocalize. I will develop exercises just for you, to help you develop your voice, making it stronger and more flexible.

When you have warmed up your voice with vocal exercises, we will work together on the music you wish to learn. It could be a song, an aria, a Broadway or Opera aria, or a religious piece.

Large 30 foot living room with two pianos, music stands, keyboard, couches, seating area.
Mac computer, multiple cameras and great sound system.

*** Specialties ***

He may be good if you want to sing opera. I just didn't connect with him and his 'Style' of teaching. I was looking for more current music and that was where a very large disconnect was.

Right off the bat I could tell that my daughter will flourish with Dr. G. He is very encouraging while simultaneously effective at improving a weak nuance of her current skill set without making it feel like a negative critique. She is very excited to see what he can help her accomplish.

I love all things Broadway! Some of my favorite songs are from Les Miserables, Oklahoma, Fiddler on the Roof, My Fair Lady, Phantom of the Opera, etc . What are some of you favorite songs?

About Celeste
Hello! I am an active operatic performer and teacher, currently residing in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. My mission as a teacher is to help students from the beginner to professional, learn to sing in a fun and enriching environment. I hold a bachelors degree from Millikin University, and have recently earned my Master's degree from Bowling Green State University. I was very involved in the opera theater programs at both universities and have performed such roles as Cherubino from the Marriage of Figaro, Mother from Little Red Riding Hood, Most Fiordiligi from Mozart's "Cosi fan Tutte." Most recently, I was in Austria taking part in an intensive operatic training program for the emerging professional singer, while under the guidance of world renowned Russian baritone Vladimir Chernov.

As a teacher, I believe singing is an exciting journey o
f learning, musicianship and artistry. I have most recently taught in Jerry City, Ohio for Elmwood Jr./Sr. High School, and have also been active for the past six years as a master class instructor for St. Peter's Lutheran Church, located in Ft. Wayne, IN. I am very happy to be working with you!

*** Lesson Details ***
You will find my teaching methods rewarding, enriching and exciting as you grow and learn. Students will be encouraged to take their own individual journey in singing. You can expect to work on diction, theory, breathing, and developing a general healthy technique.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano and CD player. There is also seating for parents who wish to sit in on lessons.

*** Specialties ***
I am a classically trained singer and most of my training is in art song and opera. However, I do have a vast knowledge of musical theater literature and I would feel very comfortable in that genre. I am also well versed in choral literature and gospel.

Proud Member of Actors Equity Association, SAG-AFTRA, and the National Association of Teachers of Singers.

*** Lesson Details ***
Not only am I a trained singer, I am also an actor. I understand what it is to communicate and show emotion while singing. Before you can do this, you must also learn healthy singing technique. I will help blend the two.

The first half of each lesson will be dedicated to vocal exercises with the second half to songs I recommend or from your own repertoire. My recommendations may be from a different style of music than you are accustomed to, but I will be working towards helping you sing the style you want to sing.

Every voice is different. As a teacher I want to make sure that my students understand and are comfortable with what they are feeling and hearing. While I am an easy going person, I work very hard to help students find the right path to healthy vocal production.

*** Travel Equipment ***
n/a student must have piano in home for use by the teacher

***please note: I have 3 cats. They do not come into the studio, but if you have allergies, this is possibly a problem.

"Study music while experiencing lessons to an enjoyable and relaxed approach!" This has been my goal and approach for students from young children to professional musicians in college. Whether piano, voice, or organ let's see how you learn best and make this a positive experience for you!

About Joseph
PIANO / VOCAL / ORGAN INSTRUCTOR - I am a music educator and performer that loves working with individuals from the young child to professionals. I taught public school for 12 years and then at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY for the last 14. My degrees are from Western Michigan University (Bachelor of Music), Indiana University (Masters in Secondary Education) and Ball State University (Doctorate of Arts). During my teaching career, I also gave private lessons outside of the school and the college. When I left NY, I had 35 students of which 6 remain with me online. Having now relocated to Oahu, Hawaii I am looking to add private students. I love teaching and believe in creating an atmosphere where the students, regardless of age, feel successful in their endeavors.

WHAT DO I DO?
Currently, I am the Coordinator for Therapeuti
c Music & Volunteer Coordinator at Hospice Hawaii and the Director of Music at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Honolulu.

WHAT DO I TEACH?
I teach piano, organ, and voice.
*Piano: All levels from beginning to professional
*Organ: All levels from beginning to professional
*Voice: Beginning and those working with music theater

WHERE DO I TEACH?
*Piano: In Mililani, St Peter’s Episcopal, and online
*Organ: St. Peter’s Episcopal and possibly online
*Voice: St. Peter’s Episcopal (no online voice lessons)
NOTE: Parents are welcomed to attend the lessons!
In fact, I encourage that!!

WHAT IS MY STYLE OF TEACHING?
Every student is different and what works for one may not work with another. It's important for me to know my students so I can better shape the lesson. I love questions, reflection, and even humor. I'm also very patient and understanding. We are all very busy and accept that students may have weeks they can't practice a huge amount of time. As long as some progress is made at lessons, all is well!

Former Elphaba in Broadway's "Wicked", Carla knows her way around the singing voice. Whether you are working towards a career in performing or just want to sing for fun, Carla works with all levels of singers as young as 9. She'll help you find your mix, belt, falsetto, twang and everything in between!

About Carla
I am a professional Broadway actress, having performed the role of Elphaba in the hit musical "Wicked" on Broadway and throughout the United States. I have been fortunate to have traveled the United States, Canada and Asia with multiple touring productions as well. I perform as a guest entertainer singing my own show on board major Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Lines and Disney Cruise Lines most recently.

I began my studies in voice as a young girl in my Grandmother's voice studio in Chicago. I went on to focus on classical music at Interlochen Arts Academy and then Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. I finished my Bachelors Degree at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, choosing to switch my focus from classical music to musical theatre. I also hold a Masters Degree in Theatre Education from NYU's Steinhardt School of Education. I have a 4
0 hour voice teaching certification through New York Vocal Coaching.

I am extremely passionate about singing and have been teaching for almost 10 years. Having started in the world of classical music, my expertise is helping my students develop a solid foundation with which to sing any style of music from. I think it's important that students sing the music that brings them joy so we work on anything from pop/rock/country to jazz to musical theatre. Singing should be an enjoyable experience, therefore I encourage my students to be bold and fearless while we enter into the world of effortless singing! All sounds (cracking, quacking, laughing and crying) are welcome in my studio. Singing can be a huge emotional release at first and I am here to guide you through this journey. Beginners welcome.

I am an actress and martial artist but have been wanting to overcome performance anxiety, including singing in public that I have dreamed of adding to future performances. Carla is so wonderful to work with. She is very understanding, nurturing and is able to explain things in a way that help me understand how to create the right sound. I have been finding this has eased my anxiety in performing not only with singing but in acting and has helped improve my way of speaking. Carla has opened my eyes to how my head, voice, but more importantly breathing are all related. I'm finding myself becoming more self-aware and find it absolutely amazing! I am very grateful to have been referred to Carla and highly recommend working with her.

Carla is a phenomenal voice teacher. Her extensive knowledge and her technical prowess make her an ideal teacher for anyone struggling with their technique. She takes the time each lesson to get to know you and what your voice needs. And perhaps most importantly, Carla makes voice lessons fun! From silly (and helpful) vocal exercises to new rep suggestions, learning from Carla has helped me find joy in singing again. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned profession looking for a tune up, I highly recommend spending some time with Carla Stickler.
