Ms. Strange was so helpful during my time working with her! She's patient, kind, has a wonderful sense of humor, but above all that: an outstanding cellist.

Mrs. Strange is the best teacher I have ever had. She is always well prepared going into every lesson. The lessons are clear, concise, and constructive. She does her best to adjust her teaching style to you for the best progress possible. Mrs. Strange gets to know you and cares for every student equally. She does not view you as another student because every student is important to her. You can go to her for any problems you are having with technique, tone quality, sound projection, or any other problem you may have as a student and she will work through the problems with you until you feel comfortable enough to move on to other troubles you are having. Every lesson with Mrs. Strange has a reason, you will never waste time or money with her as a teacher because she can help you achieve new heights as a musician and then surpass them. She taught me everything I needed to know in order to make it into a university for music performance and she still helps me to this day when I am struggling. I recommend her as a teacher to anyone who wants to become a better musician.

I place a heavy emphasis on not only playing music but understanding it. Understanding what you're playing is one of the most important differences between an amateur and a professional musician.

Music is all about relationships and patterns. I teach my students to recognize and identify these relationships and patterns to set them up on the course for musical mastery.

On guitar you can learn to read music and/or play by ear. You can learn various techniques such as fingerstyle, using a pick, or combining the two. You can learn how to utilize the entire guitar neck and play in all keys. You can learn how to play chords and melodies at the same time, and you can learn to improvise in various styles.

About Jacob

Hi, my name is Jacob. I have been teaching music lessons for a living for over 10 years. I graduated with my Ba. in music composition from the University of Oregon in 2008. I play and teach all styles of music including classical, jazz, rock, folk, and other pop styles. I place a big emphasis o

Want to play guitar in your own style? Dreaming of the big stage, or wanting to record your own music? With over 25 years of music experience, most of it in guitar, I can help.

I have been playing guitar since I was 10, and have played for crowds large and small. I’m also a guitar performance major at Berklee College of Music, learning from great guitarists from all over the world.

No matter what you want to play, I can help. I personally want to see people succeed at guitar, I think this challenging instrument is rewarding to those that give it time. A solid guitarist will be fluent in music theory and ear training and can apply that knowledge to any future musical endeavors.

About Chris

I have been playing guitar most of my life on stages big and small. Even when I had a responsible “day job”, music has always been the heart of my life and I am looking forward to sharing that gift with others. I am currently going to Berklee College of Music as a guitar performance major and I

Our lessons will be relaxed and fun. I take pride in tailoring my curriculum to the needs and goals of each individual student- This helps me make sure that you are learning at a pace that feels comfortable for you, yet challenging.

We will work together to develop both your musicianship and creativity. I am a firm believer in music being a healing and mind-opening practice. One of my primary goals while teaching is to give my students an outlet to express themselves in a healthy and meaningful way. Let's get started!

Topics we can focus on together:
- Theory
- Improvisation (rock solos!)
- Strumming/finger-picking patterns
- How to sing and play at the same time
