Shannon is beyond talented as a vocal coach. She has helped me increase and strengthen my range beyond what I knew I was capable of. I have seen so much improvement in my vocal control since taking lessons with her. She is also a lovely person, supportive coach, and passionate about her craft. She teaches using her own methods as well as SLS and I have felt that my vocal chords are safe in her hands! 10/10

I’m a talent manager in LA and have been sending clients to Shannon for several months now. I’ve seen incredible improvements in their skill just after a few lessons with her!! Each time I talk to my clients after their lessons, they have such great things to say about her and how much they enjoyed their lessons! I’d recommend her to anyone just as I do my clients!

Having been on off-Broadway twice and been invited to perform as soloist at 2017 & 2018 OSCAR CHINA NIGHT, I'm here to teach you to sing in both English and Mandarin (your choice)! I started to play the piano since 5 and was trained classically in voice in China. After I came to the US in 2013 and went to New York Film Academy, I dived into contemporary styles like Broadway, Pop Rock, Disney, Jazz. I'm experienced in switching between classical and modern styles, plus my background in Film/TV as well as on stage taught me to use acting to your full advantage and add on to your singing technique. I found my passion in coaching in March, 2019 when I was thrilled to work as the casting director and vocal coach for Mandarin production of MAN OF LA MANCHA premiered at Symphony Space, NY. I believe that every person is special and is meant to shine in his/her own way, and it is important to be patient, loving and kind toward oneself during the journey of self-growth :)

I met Genevieve in the Mandarin Version Musical Play “The Man of La Mancha” and feel so thankful to experience her proficiency in her vocal coaching. Naturally I was nervous whenever I sang on the stage and was not confident because of my lack of professional background. Noticing my problems, she would always conduct a consultation before we started the vocal training, encouraging me to resonate with my character and my songs. Even just for one sentence of the song, we tried to outline various scenes, use different emotions, body gestures and facial expression time and time again to seek for the best way to demonstrate. She was never judgmental to any of the ideas that I raised and would give me the instructions and advices that are most suitable for me. Through her strong perceptiveness, she helped me find my inner strength and spirit, and magically transferred them to my voice. She is truly a worthy coach!
Kitty
The experience in La Mancha with Genevieve is absolutely amazing, she could correct your vocal, accent and music problem, and also gave you acting guite and practice suggestions, which makes us get the chance to reach the whole character, plz try it if you have a chance!

Kevin
I have been taking lessons with Sammy for a month now. I am very green when it comes to singing and I am extremely self-conscious about my voice and had never really sung in front of anyone before. Sammy provided me with exactly what I was looking for, direct feedback. At the first lesson, he had me perform a vocal warm-up so that he could evaluate my instrument. We then discussed genres I like, and what goals I was trying to achieve. He then asked me to chose a song to sing and sing it. He identified things off the bat that I had not thought about and gave me exercises to help work on what we discussed. Week to week we built off of what we identified the previous week and I am seeing progress. He is good about explaining things if I don't understand the concept and he provides examples of what he is talking about. It's been a great experience and I highly recommend Sammy as an instructor.

Very happy to have Sammy instructing my 10yo daughter in singing. Sammy has a good rapport with children but still keeps the singing class moving at a challenging pace
He is very organized and punctual as well!

I can help you develop your confidence in 'putting a song across' to an audience (even if it's just an audience of 1!) by getting into the MEANING of the song, its place in the narrative of the show, play or Musical, and how to convey that meaning through a variety of techniques and types of musical inflection. I also help you find your pitch and your own unique voice.

I have known Tamari professionally for fifteen years.
She is an excellent music teacher for piano and voice. Her expertise is noticeable as she patiently meets her student at his/her level and guides that student to the next step.
The process is perfect for any student, even if developmentally challenged and for any age. I highly recommend Tamari.

I've been consistent weekly taking yoga lessons from Tamari at the Y in Canaan CT. I try not to miss it. She's a compassionate and caring yoga teacher and will trailer her classes to fit your needs. Her classes are good for newbies and seniors and those who want a simple class. No athletics. Hatha Yoga are basic yoga stretches that will make you feel good after participating . My aches and pains are gone after each session. To be continued....

"I needed last minute coaching for an upcoming audition and was feeling unprepared and frazzled. Chelsea easily knew what I needed. She made recommendations, was wonderfully engaging, and her insight and ear highlighted some important tweaks that I would have overlooked in my haste to prepare. After just one session I felt clearer, calmer, and considerably more confident. Bonus: Chelsea is incredibly kind, fun to work with and makes you feel you already know one another. Chelsea has my highest recommendation"

This is my first voice lesson and I am 54 years old and I was very nervous and unsure, but Chris made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I am looking forward to the next lesson and I am already practicing. My goal is to improve my singing and perhaps one day be on a local stage playing a small part, something that has been in my system for many years! I believe Chris will provide me with the training that may one day assist me in achieving my goal."

"Professionalism is the first word to come to mind regarding Michelle. I have had over a decade of music and voice lessons with various teachers. By far, Michelle is the most professional educator. Michelle understands that our voices are like any other instrument, and has a holistic approach to the health of the body and voice. With her guidance I am confident I will sing healthy and strong well into my senior years. Personality would be met second word for Michelle. She is very engaging and as excited about my progress as I am. She inspires the confidence that we can reach our goals and beyond. This has been time and money well spent."

"I've worked with a number of voice teachers and have always really struggled. The fact is: just because someone can sing and has been trained to sing, doesn't mean they can teach. Monica is a teacher almost as much as she is a performer. She THINKS about pedagogy ALL the time, like real teachers do. When she is learning, she is thinking of ways to pass on that knowledge to her students. She puzzles about EACH of her students, crafting lessons for THAT particular student, starting where that student is, and moving them forward in the way that particular student needs to be moved forward. There is no cookie cutter progression of lessons from Monica. This natural spirit of a teacher also shows in the balance she has between real passion to see her students improve (and so the desire to push her students) and TOTAL supportive patience as they move at their own pace. That is a rare skill. Finally, for me, as an actor, I see singing primarily through the lens of the stage and my theater career. Other teachers have TRIED to take that into account by occasionally mentioning it, but Monica ONLY thinks as a stage performer and so EVERYTHING she does is with auditions and performances in mind. This means we don't waste time on songs I can't use or on vocal styles I can't use, and we're always dealing with the practical application to the work I want to do. Monica cares, loves what she does on stage and while she's teaching, SEES her students for who they are and has never yet lost her curiosity for understanding what stands in my way as a singer and how she can best help me overcome it. I'm so grateful that I met her and for the progress as a singer she's helped me attain."
