Storm is an amazing teacher, and I've learned so much from our lessons. He's patient, knowledgeable, and always willing to answer your questions (even outside of the lesson). He creates a plan for each student and makes sure you are progressing. I've learned more about guitar in 6 months with Storm than the previous 20 years of me trying to learn on my own. Highly recommended!

I am a professional recording artist/singer-songwriter. I have received honors such as 2016 GRAMMY Amplifier Finalist and 2014 International Songwriting Competition Semifinalist.

In our first lesson, we will begin with where you are in your songwriting and what instruction you are looking for, so that I know how to best help and equip you. Throughout, we will do exercises to work on song structure, harmony, melody, rhythm and lyric writing, all to hone, shape and sharpen in on your individual voice.

As we progress, we can also get into music production and recording demos of your songs!

I really enjoyed lessons with Emilie! She is well organized and has a clear lesson plan for each session, with follow up homework and exercises. I learned so much about technique and the "how to" of drawing. Everything she put together was appropriate for my level and included exercises that challenged me to improve. I could tell Emilie is well trained and skilled at drawing. She is also very nice and I felt relaxed and comfortable with her. Her studio is warm and inviting. Overall it was a great experience and I am looking forward to taking some additional lessons with Emilie!

So happy to have found Emilie! I work for a family with a four year old child who is extremely engaged in art and we wanted to find private lessons for her. Emilie has been extremely accommodating and very intentional in making sure we were ready for our first lesson. Will be scheduling more lessons and look forward to her being apart of my charges explorative learning!

Songwriting for me is the best part. I’ve written 50 good and 50 bad songs at least. Practice makes perfect but inspiration is hard to force. Lets understand the complexities of theory and simplicities of powerful lyrics.

About Scott

Music fuels the soul!! Let's get learning and having fun. I play upright bass, electric bass, guitar, piano, drums, and sing. I also compose original songs and Jazz music. I am currently completing my Master's at Manhattan School of Music. In NYC I have played at Smoke Jazz club and have done many

Great instructor, very patient and knowledgable, Perfect for beginning players. Very chill, enjoyable experience.

I had no clue how to play a bass guitar. I was fortunate thru the college he was teaching at to be honored to have Scott teach me at my beginner level, the basics of bass guitar. His patience with me was much appreciated as again, this was new to me and at the time being 69 years old, I wasn’t a quick learner. After several sessions, I was able to play basic cords, study the notes on the frets thru his lesson plan. I was sad that Scott left the college for NYC, but was very happy for him as he wanted to pursue his masters degree. Thanks to his patience and excellent teaching skills, I was able to continue lessons with another instructor and not embarrass myself as I had minute skills that helped me become a little more than a beginner. I am still going at it and loving every second but it was Scott’s patience and teaching skills that kept the fire lit to continue pursuing my love of the bass guitar. I can’t thank Scott enough and I wish him well with his goal of a master’s degree.

Scott is a great teacher and an even better friend. His background in music makes him unlike any other instructor. I’d highly recommend him to anyone, at any skill level.

Gabriel has been teaching my son Riser (age 7 now) for over 2 years now. We feel so blessed! My son progressed so quickly. Gabriel is patient, engaging and has a gift for helping kids grow their piano skills week by week. I love that he's also created "recitals" for his students to play for people! We recently switched from in home lessons to doing them through FaceTime, and it's almost like having Gabe in our home with us.

I’ve worked with Judith for a few years now and she does a great job working with my goals for learning German. She is very patient and flexible with our learning and lessons!
ELSA
Judith is wonderful! All the issues I've had with my voice and singing for years, she addressed with pinpoint accuracy and expert instruction to help me correct them; even the things I didn't know how to explain! She has a great ear and a wealth of practical knowledge to share. After my first month of lessons, my singing is so much better! She is so kind and non-judgmental, and fun to work with, too. With Judith's help and encouragement, I'm hitting notes and singing songs I didn't think I had the range for and turning my good voice into a great voice. Thank you so much, Judith!

2 Questions Every Songwriter Should Be Able to Answer

Not sure where to start when it comes to writing songs? Check out these songwriting tips from Austin, TX teacher Gfire M...   I started writing songs fairly early on at age 11, but I never thought about songwriting technique until later, when I studied with teachers from Berklee College, and in Los Angeles and Nashville.
