Ricardo P. Broomfield, CO

About Ricardo

I have been a professional musician and teacher all my adult life. Music is my passion and has always been how I make a living. I teach piano/keyboards, guitar, voice, bass and ukulele. I studied classical piano at SUNY at Buffalo and I initially learned to play guitar and singing on my own. Years later I studied voice and guitar with great professional instructors. I am familiar with different ways of learning music: from very structured and traditional methods (that we use in classical music) to more improvisational and "by ear" approaches as we often do in popular music. This helps me tailor my music teaching specifically to each student based on his/her musical preferences, abilities and learning style. I can teach all styles of music including: Pop, Rock, Blues, Country, Bluegrass, ...

I am so grateful to Andrea....

I have always loved to sing, and sang in several choirs when I was younger. But I had "lost" my voice, and wanted to see if I could recover it. Andrea was wonderful in working with me: I was barely able to release any sound when we started our lessons. Within weeks, Andrea helped me discover how to form the vowels and release the sound. [I have moved out of state, so Andrea only had a limited time to work with me.]

She is passionate about music, and yet very patient with her students. She did not patronize me with false praise when I wasn't getting it, but she still encouraged me. And when I did get it, she was quick to affirm my progress. I strongly recommend Andrea as a voice teacher.

Andrea is a great voice teacher

I started taking opera lessons with Andrea this summer and I absolutely adore her teaching style. She not only has the education level and teaching experience to help you reach your potential, but she is very easy going and extremely comfortable to be around! With me, she zoned into my weaknesses and was able to make me aware of what I need to work on and from there I was able to make improvements. I would definitely recommend Andrea because she is an awesome voice teacher!!

I started taking voice lessons from Jamie kind of on a whim- I had always wanted to learn to sing but I was nervous and kind of shy about it. Right away Jamie made me feel comfortable. He is very encouraging and gives criticism in a positive way. It is obvious that he really loves music and is knowledgeable about many different genres. I love that he focuses on theory and technique- as a beginner these are the lessons that I was looking for. After five lessons I already hear a big difference in my range and my vocal strength as well as my confidence, and I am sure that as I progress he will continue to challenge me. I highly recommend him.

Jamie is an excellent voice teacher. I have learned a lot in the few months I've been taking lessons with him, and feel a lot more confident in my singing. My range and my knowledge of music have definitely improved. At each lesson you do a vocal warm up, go over music theory concepts, and then work on a song. I would definitely recommend Jamie; you will improve and have fun doing it!
Scott B. Denver, CO

About Scott

Hi! I'm Scott, and I'm a native of this great State of Colorado! I fell in love with the drums in 6th grade, and have never looked back! I too, began by taking private lessons, having been fortunate to be able to study under one of the best performers and private teachers in the Rocky Mountain West at the time. Beginning private instruction in Elementary School, I continued for 7 years even while embarking on a performance career in high school. Since then I've both performed and recorded a wide variety of styles including most forms of rock, country, jazz, pop, Gospel, symphonic/orchestral styles, and concert and marching band styles. I've also been fortunate to be able to teach many other students over these last 29 years of my career, and watch them achieve their own goals in drumming.

Scott is an incredibly patient teacher. Our 6 year old has been working with him for quite a few months. Its really difficult to keep the attention of a 6 year old, but Scott has different techniques to keep him interested. He has taught our son to read music in a very short time. He has taught the importance of practice as well as warming up. He has no problem coming to our house to teach, which gives our son the comfort of home. Scott is very patient and extremely flexible and we are enjoying working with him.

Its amazing seeing our little boy reading the music and playing the drums.

We highly recommend Scott in every way!

Scott is one of the best teachers I've come in contact with.

He is great with people! He really goes into the need for knowing basics if you're going to do well at any of the playing styles. It makes it so much easier to play just about anything, instead of having to start from scratch to learn every individual style of music there is, which is really important when you're doing recording like I am. He's also great in encouraging individual creativity in playing, and not just staying "inside the box." That really makes a person stand out from everyone else, which is what needs to happen if you're going to be noticed and be successful.
Scott M. Denver, CO

About Scott

We learn by teaching. That is why I love to teach, because I love to learn. I have made many great connections while teaching music to people and one of the ways to do that is to work together on a common goal. I started teaching music because during my own studies I have discovered many quick learning strategies that make playing music fun. I teach from my home studio as well as via Skype. Many of my strategies I've discovered on my own. Now I want to share these ideas with you. Scott is a multi-instrumentalist loop master whose music spans a wide range of sounds and genres. With an education in music performance and a reputation for having a good time this laid back musician is no amateur to the music scene. Scott has performed hundreds of shows and numerous festival ...

Scott is an excellent guitar teacher. He makes it fun to learn while gearing the lessons toward the student’s needs. In return, this allows the student to excel in learning the guitar at their own pace. I definitely would recommend Scott as guitar instructor.

wish I had more time for MORE lessons

Scott has been a great teacher, his patience and ability to teach at my pace have been wonderful! I also love that he finds ways to teach music I like.

My only regret is that I don't have more time and money to schedule lessons every week! I hope that changes soon.

I love my Uke, and I love lessons with Scott!
