Robert H. Pikesville, MD

About Robert

Creativity, skill and love of music are the key elements that I work to encourage in every student. Over the years my teaching has evolved and I find it gratifying to take people far beyond their own expectations while helping them achieve their goals. I believe everyone is musical and just needs the right key to tap into their own creativity. For beginners it's important to study with an excellent teacher. Setting a solid and creative foundation makes all the difference! For advanced players studying with a great artist takes you greater artistry. Weekly private lessons focus on technical skills in either piano, voice (or a combination of both) and a strong musical foundation. Theory and Ear Training are fundamentals that are embedded in this approach to developing a complete ...

My degree and experience with elementary aged children have prepared me to be able to tailor lessons to my students' individual needs, explain concepts in creative ways, and adjust the pace of lessons as needed. Playing piano is something that I really enjoy, so I love having the opportunity to give students the skills they need to enjoy it, too! *** Lesson Details *** I try to create a learning environment that's fun and laid back while still maintaining reasonable expectations for my students. I never had luck in school with music but I must say she is helping it all to come together easily for me.
Lindsey A. Hanover, PA

About Lindsey

I teach lessons out of my home on Fridays. I have an acoustic upright piano in my home, seating inside and outside, and there is plenty of on street parking. Students need either an acoustic piano at their home or a weighted keyboard. Students are responsible for purchasing their own sheet music, whether through me or from a store or online. We can talk about what kind of music you like to play or want to learn to play and go from there. Usually for either a beginner adult or child, I recommend the Alfred piano series, along with a technique book to strengthen and limber up the fingers, and a fun piece ... something you specifically want to learn or challenge yourself with. My strongest abilities are in classical music, because that is what I have the most experience in, ...
