Kyle K. Cleveland, OH

About Kyle

I love music! To me, it's a way of life. From listening to playing to writing and of course teaching. I grew up with music at school and home. My dad was a piano player and teacher so music has been a part of my life since day one and I want to share what I have learned. Everyone has a unique musical talent and I enjoy helping them find it. I believe that anyone can be an excellent musician. Playing an instrument should be a fun and creative adventure. Whether it's strumming at home, playing out in the clubs, or writing the next big hit, I will do my best to get you there! My musical life began when I was in 5th grade and my dad bought me a saxophone, which I played for over 10 years. I quickly learned how fast I could improve if I simply kept playing. When I hit my teen ...

Kyle is a fantastic guitar teacher! He takes the time to show you how to play guitar with good fundamentals, and teaches you a little bit of music theory along the way without making it complicated. I tried learning on my own using online TABs and Youtube videos and a game called Rocksmith. This was a good start, but eventually I hit a wall and wasn’t really progressing. Kyle has really helped me develop my skills. We went over all the basics like how to hold a pick, how to hold the guitar, how to play single notes vs. chords, palm muting and alternate picking. I was missing all of this technique before and I was actually making playing the guitar more difficult than it needed to be! Kyle explained it all in a very easy to understand way and gives you as much detail as you need. I like lots of detail, so we went over everything! He knows a lot of little tips and tricks from playing as long as he has and this is the kind of priceless information you can't get elsewhere. He's very easy to talk to and has a breadth of knowledge on all kinds of music. We normally geek out about anything from Jimi Hendrix to 90’s music to more modern music and everything in between. I can’t say enough about how knowledgeable he is – highly recommended!

I couldn't be happier with Keith. He explains complicated concepts in techniques in a way that's easy to follow and implement with that day's lesson plan. He clearly lays out the origin of how certain notes and chords were developed in order to give you the full picture of what it is you're practicing.
He's very laid back and patient and a joy to work with.

Enthusiastic presentation of music theory, concepts, and practice. Empathetic and patient, Keith has taken the time necessary to learn my taste in music, goals, in music, and purpose for pursuing music. A comfortable studio in his home has proven to be a positive learning environment. He also has introduced multiple styles of play to inspire me to explore expanding myself with the guitar.
It was required that a college syllabus was to be followed to meet credit award. Keith was able to instruct guitar in a manner which allowed this student to retain an interest, expand desire, and maintain discipline necessary to continue playing. By integrating music theory and notation into practice, Keith was able to clarify expected requirements to meet the demands of a college syllabus. Utilizing computer technology, lessons have been enhanced as well. This has also nurtured the continued learning desire. I would recommend Keith as an instructor to accelerate anyone's ability to play the guitar.

I really enjoy taking singing and guitar lessons from George. He always makes me feel comfortable and the lessons are always interesting and informative.

I am a 61 year old guy that just wants to have fun playing and singing with other people and during our lesson George makes me feel like I am singing and playing with a friend. I started out with a 45 minute lesson but increased it to an hour so that I could record a video of a summary of my lesson on my cell phone.

It is very easy to schedule a lesson with George. I have an appointment every 2 weeks at the same time and day of the week. I leave each lesson with a lesson plan so that I can practice the technique before my next lesson.
I highly recommend George.

I've been a guitar player for many years, but was never confident enough to sing to myself, let alone in front of friends and never in public.

I found George here at "Take Lessons" and had the objective of becoming competent enough to be able to sing in front of friends and family, this was not a quest for stardom.

After 4 or 5 sessions with George he has certainly assured me that I can carry a tune, and we are working on expanding the range as I develop confidence that I really can do this. Even now, he tells me, I could hold my own at an open mike night, Even though that is not what I am looking for, he is a great confidence builder and is willing to tailor the lessons to the areas of interest to me.

He provides an environment where it is safe to expose your weaknesses. He provides the safety net to not be embarrassed, and the instruction and encouragement needed to polish the rough spots into something that is really quite comfortable.

We have a ways to go, however, George has already provided a great boost for my confidence, and I'm satisfied that he is going to lead me to a much broader range of material that I can confidently perform in front of even strangers.
Alex B. Lakewood, OH

About Alex

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from internationally recognized Baldwin-Wallace College. I have been playing and touring professionally for 9 years now with a band called Ward 9, and 4 years with a band called Dan Miraldi & The Albino Winos. I currently produce and run my own recording studio, and offer lessons as well. I am certified to teach all ages, any instrument, but focus mainly on bass, guitar, piano and vocals. *** Lesson Details *** When taking lessons with me, students can expect to move just a little faster than their perceived pace. I say this because students feel like they can accomplish A, but I know they are capable of more! They can expect to be held accountable to correct technique and gain a fundamental base of music theory as well. If they put ...

What a great experience!!! I'm a mid-thirties male with zero performance background of any kind. I can't say enough about my experience. Alex is full of information and he's able to explain the fundamentals in an easy to understand way. I was nervous going into the session, I've never sang in front of anyone, by the time the session ended I was ready for my next one. I would highly recommend Alex to anyone looking for music lessons. I couldn't imagine a better first experience.

What a fantastic find! Alex has been instructing my 2 sons (middle school and high school age) for the past year in our home once a week. We divided the hour lesson to cover bass guitar for one and guitar for the other. I can't say enough about Alex. He is professional, knowledgeable, friendly and has really pushed the boys to a new skill level. His academic and performance background enhance what he brings to each lesson, not to mention the fact that he's a genuinely nice guy and very flexible in working around our family's hectic schedule. The boys look forward to each lesson and I'm impressed with the advancement in their guitar playing. I highly recommend Alex!

Alex is an amazing person and an awesome singing coach. I came to him with absolutely no experience at all had a wonderful time learning the basics and experimenting in the studio for the first time. He is very easy going and made me feel comfortable. Without Alex's help I wouldn't have been able to come out of my shell enough to continue my lessons.

I definitely recommend Alex if you are in the Cleveland are and are looking for a great singing coach!

He's really excited about what he's teaching and he knows alot about music theory and the fretboard. He may need to slow down for me and stop referring to the notes until I actually catch up which may be longer. I really was excited to learn the things he taught but my fingers aren't catching up. That is also slowing down what I learned at first. He went out and got a requested James Taylor book for me that had TAB that I had never seen before and now I can relate it to what he's teaching. I also have a scales book that goes two octaves. Brian suggested learning one octave so that I can really know the notes.

Brian is an excellent teacher and works well with our son. He has helped him develop new key skills on the double bass, as well as gain confidence on the more challenging pieces his orchestra is taking on this season. On a personal level, Brian is very friendly and does a great job communicating both with our son and ourselves. He makes us feel at home, and our son enjoys working with him. We are looking forward to our son really growing through these lessons. I would highly recommend Brian to other students.

I took lessons with Anthony for more than a year as a complete beginner. His teaching style was responsive to my level of experience (zero at the time), and area(s) of interest. I thoroughly enjoyed taking lessons and would highly recommend him as a teacher. He helped to expand my creativity and boldness. I even started transposing music that I had heard so that they can be used in lessons. We started getting into music theory - which was so much fun because he made it very accessible. He is an amazing drummer, good-natured, and very knowledgeable & passionate about percussion.

I began playing drums at age 32. My wife found Anthony by calling local music stores and he came highly recommended. I was a little taken back that I was getting lessons from a 18 year old kid, but wow, he did not disappoint. I took lessons for 4 years with him before he moved to New York, and when he moved back, I began back with him. He also began teaching my then 7 year old son. We both loved working with him. He took the time to make sure you understood what he was teaching and went above the protocol of professionalism. I highly recommend him to anyone that wants the detailed fundamentals of drumming, and the caring nature of your well being in percussion. I give him 10 stars...5 from me and 5 from my son Kyle! Rock on!

I first started taking lessons when I was 13. Anthony was my first and only legitimate teacher (I later tried another and was disappointed). He teaches every student at their own pace and based on how much effort they choose to put into learning their instrument. During times when I was getting lazy he even sat me down and spent part of the lesson just motivating me to get more out of lessons by investing more time practicing; I'll never forget it. Anthony truly taught me everything I knew.

Fast forward: I now drum for the electronic rock/EDM band Day Method which has been scouted by the manager for Guns and Roses, the tour manager for U2, and the manager for Trans Siberian Orchestra. I have performed for tens of thousands of people over the last 10 years, played well over 100 concerts, and am moving to LA in a few months to pursue a record deal. The take away? Whatever your dreams or aspirations, they aren't out of reach and Anthony can give you the tools you need to get you there...Keep rocking!
