Cameron C.

Nashville, TN

About Cameron

Cameron is a musician, teacher, and worship leader. He recently moved from Anaheim, CA 9 years ago to achieve a Bachelors Degree in Commercial Music at Belmont University and now resides in Nashville, TN.

Since 2004 I have gigged, recorded, and wrote/ co-wrote music in Nashville, TN. When I graduated in 2008 I went on the road for a couple years with an artist named Dave Hunt when I returned from the road I wasn't quite sure what to do next. I decided that I might enjoy teaching so for the last 4 years I have started small and built up my student base to around 30-35 students a week. I als
o teach high school music history and music theory at a home school tutorial and enrichment school in town. I simply use the college curriculum that I received and fine tune it for students from all levels of playing (basically like getting a college music lesson for much cheaper!)

"I have a passion and love for finding the best way to teach a new musical idea/technique/song, I am bold and will use the best way to teach you, based on your learning style."

*** Lesson Details ***
I teach multiple styles (jazz, pop, rock, latin, country, bluegrass, and classical) on the instruments listed on my page and love to teach songs, technique, and music theory in my lessons. I also throw in, if asked for, note reading, and ear training by transcription of staff notation and the Nashville number system.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Dedicated lesson space.
- Amplifiers for electric guitar and bass.
- Electric guitar, 2 Acoustic guitars, Classical Guitar, Ukulele, and Mandolin
- Audio Technica AT4040, Pre-Sonus TubePre, M-Audio Mobile USB DAC, Apple Mac mini, Logic DAW, and M1 Active Alesis Studio Monitors for Audio Recording.
-M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 for Piano playing.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can bring all curriculum. I expect each student to own the respective instrument that they are wanting to learn.

*** Specialties ***
I like to blend a basis of music theory in with my song instruction, and I teach blues, jazz, country, rock, bluegrass, and latin styles of music. Since I have experience as a working musician, having been playing rock music in live settings for about 8 years and also jazz music for 6 years with 4 years of jazz study at Belmont University, I would say I have gathered a wide range of musical styles and specialize in all of them.

I recently picked up guitar and have just concluded my 7th lesson with Cameron. He's done a great job at making the guitar fun and easy to understand. It is very clear that he is passionate about the instrument, and making sure that his students understand not only how to play certain songs but the theory behind them. It's been great having him as a teacher.

For years, I've wanted to play guitar and had picked up a very basic understanding of how to play along the way. Cameron quickly identified the things I knew and adapted each lesson to where my skill level was at. He was great at incorporating the things I wanted to know with the things I needed to know, and built my lessons from the meager understanding I already had. A great experience, all around. Highly recommended!

Great Success

As a middle-aged adult just getting started learning an instrument, I was concerned about how well I would do. Cameron makes the learning curve easy and with practical homework assignments along the way, immediate feedback is assured. Highly recommended

Evan C.

Nashville, TN

I work with all students from beginner to advanced.
The goal is to have fun and play music.

About Evan

Born and raised in New Jersey, Evan Michael C. was surrounded by music from a young age. His father, Salvatore C., a talented guitarist dreamed that each of his children would learn a different instrument. After Evan’s eldest brother claimed the guitar, Evan reluctantly picked up the bass at the age of 13. At first, Evan was not happy: It was heavy, and it hurt his fingers. But Evan quickly learned to love the power the bass had over the bandstand and after a few lessons, it was clear that the instrument fit him like a glove.

He soon began to perform with high school rock bands, sneaking i
nto local bars and clubs for weekend gigs. A new-found appreciation for upright bass led Evan to start his own trio, sparking a love of R&B and Jazz music that thrives in him to this day. Late in his high school career, he began to set his eye on top music schools, hoping to pursue his craft professionally. He wanted to play with the best, learn from the best and become the best.

In 2007 he was invited to attend Berklee College of Music, an opportunity he would not take for granted. Boston was a whole new world for Evan and he quickly began joining up-and-coming artists for live and studio sessions. His initial efforts paid off in 2009 as he was selected to perform in the American Songbook Concert featuring Burt Bacharach and Grammy award-winning singer Paula Cole.

Evan graduated from Berklee in 2011 and has split the last several years between studio gigs and touring with renown international acts. Currently, Evan works as the live and studio bassist for Jazz/Pop vocalist Nikki Yanofsky, the touring bassist for Country singer Nicole Frechette, and as the bassist for Boston-based R&B group Biscuits & Gravy.

In the last year alone, Evan has worked with executive producers Quincy Jones and Rod Temperton and recorded a live session documentary at Capitol Records featuring Herbie Hancock. Evan will spend the Summer of 2013 on an international tour with Nikki Yanofsky before returning to Boston, Massachusetts where he currently resides.

Zander W.

Nashville, TN

” Everybody should have and play a uke, it’s so simple to carry with you and it is one instrument you can’t play and not laugh” -George Harrison

About Zander

I am a Nashville session musician, sideman and music teacher. I received a Bachelor of Music degree in Commercial Music with a Composition and Arranging Emphasis from Belmont University and I am currently pursuing a Masters in Music at MTSU. Coming from a family of Classical and Jazz musicians, I have been exposed to music my whole life. Over the years I have had the opportunity to play and record with many great bands and artists ranging from Country/Bluegrass to Rock to Jazz. I teach all genres of guitar, bass, banjo ukulele and mandolin.

*** Lesson Details ***
I believe the ability to
play an instrument is only part of musicianship. I also strive to teach my students the theory behind the music they learn. I work hard to make sure that my students are doing everything in the easiest way possible. I want to ensure that they are able to progress quickly enough so that they can see the difference. The most rewarding moment as a teacher is when a student points out how hard something once was and how easy it has become.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Music store environment. No pets.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I travel with all teaching equipment needed but a music stand is recommended for the lessons and for practicing.

*** Specialties ***
I am a very versatile teacher and player but I am often recommended based on my knowledge of Gypsy Jazz, Swing, bluegrass, country and rock teaching acoustic guitar, electric guitar, banjo, mandolin and ukulele

Caleb starting teaching my seven year old son the banjo just a few weeks ago. We are extremely pleased with Mr.Caleb! He is a talented and versatile musician, a nice person, and a wonderful and patient teacher. My son is learning so much technique wise, but what I love most is how fast he warmed up to Caleb and how much he wants to do well because he truly likes his teacher. Caleb is not only going to teach you or your child to play well, but even better in my opinion, is that he will support you, encourage you, approach lessons with you individually in mind, and inspire you in a genuine way.

Caleb is a great teacher. I had already taken mandolin from another teacher and he was very careful to make sure that the basics were in the right place before moving on but it's very clear that he knows what he's doing.

Maximillian L.

Nashville, TN

I like to cater the lessons to the student, so it all depends on what you want to get out of it! I will happily spend the time teaching you how to play your favorite songs, give you different techniques for different styles of playing, or dive into the endless depths of music theory which can lead to all new levels of learning possibilities!

About Maximillian

I've been playing music since I was 7 years old. The first record I remember playing on repeat and learning all the lyrics to was The Beatles' Rubber Soul. My musical tastes span many genres including rock, funk, R&B, jazz, folk, and many more. I love helping people discover new music, for hearing a great record for the first time can be life changing. After studying music at Ramapo College of New Jersey, I moved to Nashville to further pursue my passion. Although I first learned to play by ear, I took a strong interest in music theory in school, so I am able to teach in either style. I've bee
n teaching lessons for 6 years now and have watched my students grow into great players. I play with several acts around the Nashville and North New Jersey scenes. I also studied with legendary studio owner and audio engineer Lou Gonzalez, founder of QUAD Studios. Most of my days are spent in my home studio, playing with and recording local acts and my own compositions.
