Ms. Fleming is an excellent teacher, patient, encouraging, and working from a
broad range of experience. As a teacher myself (English), I really appreciate those qualities. Her experience across multiple instruments and music genres is especially appealing to me, as I play several instruments and am interested in many types of music. She gives me hope that I can develop some facility on
upright bass, a dream I have had since I was a boy. (Note: Her insights into how to practice are really helpful.)
Alysia R. Gilbert, AZ

About Alysia

Music has been my passion for the past 18 years. I started piano when I was 5 yrs old and the violin when I was 7 yrs old. I continued with lessons until I entered the Detroit High School for Performing Arts. During my sophomore year, I took additional classes at Wayne Sate University for music theory and in my senior year I took on my first piano students. I have been teaching piano, violin and music theory ever since. I have also choreographed and taught dance for many years as dancing has been with me since my first lessons at 4 yrs old. My focus is in ballet, tap and jazz. I am a graduate from Eastern Michigan University where I was actively a part of the music and dance program. *** Lesson Details *** I remember my piano teacher and I try to keep her balance of fun and ...

Solid, happy Teacher, quality instruction!

Aysia has been a fantastic teacher for my 13 year old daughter for violin. She has clear expectations and lessons. She is very competent with her skills and good at communicating her knowledge in an encouraging and constructive manner. She has been flexible with the schedule when necessary, due to life happening. I highly recommend her as a choice teacher.

Awesome!!!!

Alysia is a great teacher I was a little nervous to use her because most of the reviews were written by parents whos kids are learning and I am an adult who just really wanted to learn the violin but after meeting Alysia she is not only patient but informative I think learning as an adult we or at least I tender to want to run before I can crawl like let's just learn this so I can get to the "good stuff." The way she explains stuff really lets you see there is method to the madness of trying to learn something so complicated? She is also easy to work with both in song selections (within abilities) and how she teaches. Learning the violin poster among a thousand other things is important and she has a way of correcting that doesn't make me feel stupid I know my husband has the nicest things to say. After a few lessons I am still on simple songs at only a few lessons and I still mess up but I have improved enough he doesn't run away or put in ear plugs anymore. Thank you Alysia!!!! I cant wait till I get a few more lessons in.... I am very excited!

Sheila M. Phoenix, AZ

About Sheila

I love teaching music! I have been teaching violin and fiddle for 20years now. I have been a professional violinist for 38years and love to share my experiences and knowledge of music with others. I teach beginners with a Suzuki style and concentrate on ear training. For intermediate and advanced students all focus is on ear training and learning by ear. I am extremely patient and my students always have a great time learning. Looking forward to hearing from you! :)

Brian M. Tempe, AZ

Students in this area will receive extensive instruction on musicality, the fundamentals of reading/interpreting musical notation/symbols, comfortable and physically healthy approaches to holding the instrument and practicing effective posture, as well as performance techniques. Most beginners will start from the Suzuki series. Lessons are custom tailored and planned according to the individual student and his/her individual needs. What do you want to learn, and what do you hope to gain from our time together? These questions are among my top priorities when starting with a new client. All levels (including advanced) are included in this category (see lessons for Audition Preparation as well).

About Brian

After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance (Violin) from the artistically vibrant and widely recognized music program at Central Washington University, I traveled to the nationally recognized Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University where I am currently in my 2nd year of my Master's Degree in Music. I have been teaching both in-home and in a professional capacity since 2005. Having personally prepared many auditions, I have both experiential and technical advice to offer intermediate to advanced players. Music theory and its applications is another one of my passions and I am always excited to share this knowledge in all instrumental lessons, which include both violin and viola. Lessons through this website will be held at

Brian is a wonderful teacher! This was my first string instrument and he has done a great job teaching me all the fundamentals. Everything I need to know down to how to hold the violin. He is very articulate while teaching and extremely encouraging when I do something wrong. I am still only beginning but I can already see his expertise. I am excited to advance further and learn everything he has to offer.

Brian was fantastic! My daughter struggled with difficult fingerings and he helped her nail it! He supported her confidence and she is now 1st chair in her orchestra!
Brianna L. Tempe, AZ

I have been playing the violin for 14 years and teaching for 7 years. My curriculum includes a heavy emphasis on sound quality and correct, relaxed technique, followed by musicality and a well rounded music education. My goal is for students to be well versed not only in how to play violin, but also be knowledgeable in music history and theory. I believe that students should enjoy their music lessons while utilizing their individual learning style. I am strict, but also fun!

About Brianna

I am a recent graduate from the University of Idaho. I earned my degree in Instrumental Music Education and have been teaching privately for 7 years. My main instrument is violin, but I took to other instruments very fast and am very qualified to teach viola, cello, clarinet and saxophone. Before moving to Arizona, I taught many violin students through my own private studio and through the University of Idaho Preparatory Division. My students ranged from ages 3 to 50. I currently teach private instrumental lessons to grades 2-8 at a private school and work at an after school program at a charter school. The majority of my experience is with students age 3 through 8th grade.
