"Rick is an exceptional instructor!!!
i could not have asked for a better instructor. i am a "no nothing" about music person. Rick is encouraging, kindhea
rted, and sincere. Even when i dont make much progress he still cheers me on. He gives me the will to learn this guitar, for it is very hard for me. if you dont know a thing about music, or you just want a great guy teaching you good music, Rick is the one for you.
Keep up the GREAT WORK."

"Tracey is so good at making you feel comfortable. Obviously singing in front of someone, especially while they are critiquing you, is something that scare
s a lot of people and might make them shy away from taking lessons, but Tracey is the coolest person ever and in the handful of lessons I've had so far she makes me feel more comfortable and confident each time. I highly recommend her!!"

Ryan is amazing with our 5 year old daughter and 7 year old son. His level of patience in teaching such a young age group really shows. The
lessons are fun and age appropriate. He manages to keep their attention and teach them at the same time. My daughter loves when he lets her compose her own silly sings, not knowing that while having fun she is actually learning the piano. And my son who struggles with attention is able to complete the lesson and retain what he has learned because of Ryan's methods. Ryan is also very professional, timely and flexible with our schedule."

Having Jonathan as my tutor has been very satisfying. He is a talented musician and an excellent teacher. He is skilled at patiently comm
unicating difficult concepts to those new to music. He made me feel more confident about my strong points while gradually moving me out of my comfort zone. In this way, I learned a great deal more than expected. I left the sessions with a richer understanding and appreciation of chord progressions, tonality, interpretation. I would highly recommend Jonathan to anyone."

"Great piano lessons!
I've had piano lessons with Jingjing for about five months and learned a lot from him. He is very musical and passionate teacher, a
good influence to me. He has most amazing sight-reading skill and taught me how to read music quickly. I really appreciate that. Also, he improves my technique a lot by using some interesting finger excercises and etudes. I strongly recommend him!"

"Over the past year, my two children have taken singing lessons with Patricia. My kids are polar opposites of each other - in age, temperament, behavior,
patience - you name it. My 14 year old daughter is in the gifted program at high school and my son in on the spectrum and spends part of each day in the special day class at his elementary school. Somehow, Patricia is able to provide individually tailored lessons for each child. They absolutely love going to see her! As a mother, nothing is more important than seeing your children thrive. This has been a richly rewarding experience for all of us."
Hello, my name is Ryan B. I appreciate the responsibility, dedication and hard work that comes along with being a music teacher. To me nothing is more rewarding than the students improvement and their personal feelings of success.
Since I have learned how to play a variety of instruments over the course of several years, I have learned how to gather and utilize skills and techniques that I have learned from many great musicians. That means I can take these diverse skills and pass them on to my students! And I am very good at finding just what the student needs to expand their musical horizo
-I have been playing a variety of musical instruments (examples are guitar, piano, trombone, saxophone, trumpet, flute, and many more) for seven years -I am very familiar with the different styles of American music and its history. I have taken music theory courses 1-4. -I have received two years of private piano lessons
Accomplishments and awards:
-I have performed with six different jazz combinations at St. Louis Community College over the course of two years. -I have been giving private music lessons for three years. -I have preformed with international touring artists. -I received an award for outstanding achievement in jazz improvisation in the Spring of 2012 from St. Louis Community College
Recent achievements- My tenor saxophone student Jay Palamad just got 2nd place out of 40 other students in his all suburban audition!
My alto student Logan Page was just awarded 1st chair at his high school band audition
-Graduate of Parkway South High School, year 2006 -I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance.
*** Lesson Details *** I am a very personable and relaxed teacher, I also have very high confidence in the potential of my students. I give individually tailored music lessons because everyone learns differently. I use beginner to intermediate Hal Leonard and Real Easy books for saxophone, flute, piano trumpet and trombone (occasionally I use hannon exercises for piano).
I have developed some of my own unique musical exercises as well. I believe that after a couple of weeks my students will find that they are having more success and fun with practicing, playing, and performing. I am great with kids and I also cater to special needs students.
I am always interested in my student's musical background and personal interests. The first lesson would consist of assessing the student's present skills/talents, their short term and long term goals as well as introducing technique exercises and determining a song, or songs, to master (apply things learned during lessons). I encourage and set goals for every lesson, so practicing on your own is very important!
*** Studio Equipment *** I have an IPad with an I real book application. With this I can have an entire rhythm section to back myself and my students while we are practicing sight reading and Jazz improvisation. I also can provide a metronome, electric piano, music stands, instrument stands, and some sheet music.
*** Travel Equipment *** I expect the student to have his or her own instrument. I can provide a metronome, music stand, instrument stands, and some sheet music.
*** Specialties *** I have experience teaching jazz, blues, rock, reggae, Afro beat and funk.

It's not easy to find a harmonica teacher. Ryan has been very reliable. He is flexible with his teaching style and my son really looks forward to his lessons. We bought 5 classes. We finished the last one yesterday. We are taking a break for the end of the school year but will keep Ryan in mind for future lessons.

Composer and guitarist David began formal music training at the age of 5 on the drums. He taught himself guitar as a teenager and began playing in local rock bands. Initially entering college as a Journalism major, his passion for music led him to Meramec College where he studied Music Theory with Robert C. Howard and classical guitar with Larry Bolles. From 1990 through 1993, he attended Webster University, and became only the second composer in the school's history to receive the BM/MM Scholarship. While at Webster, he studied composition with Dr. Kendall Stallings, Robert Chamberlin, and K
im Portnoy, Jazz History with Paul Demarinis, and 18th Century Counterpoint with Dr. Eloise Jarvis. During his education, he performed with many student ensembles and sat in on master classes by the great sitarist and surbaharist, Imrat Khan and jazz guitarist Peter Leitch.
In 1993 he started St. Louis SoundWorks with Grammy nominated Adam Long and Mark McClanahan that specialized in mobile recording, and composing music for films and commercials.
As a musician, David has composed over 200 pieces for various instruments and combinations from small chamber ensembles to full orchestra. He was bandleader of two creative ensembles that focused on alternative notation compositions and improvised music, and later co-founded the avant-garde influenced rock band Diverted Course which released two CD's.
As a teacher, David has taught classical guitar and musicianship as an adjunct faculty member at Meramec College and Webster University. He has given seminars on the music of Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, and Anthony Braxton. He has been teaching privately for 23 years and many of his students have gone on to successful music careers and performed all over the world.
*** Lesson Details *** I teach students of all ages in a fun and positive manner. I am flexible and will tailor the lessons to satisfy your own individual goals. Whether you are a beginner that wants to gain a foundation in technique, sight reading, and basic theory or an intermediate or more advanced player that wants to increase their knowledge and polish their skills, I will devise a plan to meet your needs. I encourage regular practice and like my students to keep a journal to monitor their progress.
I teach a variety of styles including classical guitar, blues, rock, jazz, and avant-garde.
Ultimately, I believe everyone needs a creative outlet, a way to express themselves, and has something unique to say, and I aim to help those students find their own voice.
*** Studio Equipment *** Extra guitars and amps at both places. Mixing board at the studio. Only has a upright piano at his home address but has a keyboard at studio
*** Travel Equipment *** Expect my students to provide the guitar. Amplification is optional.
*** Specialties *** Classical, jazz, rock, blues, and avant-garde.

David is very knowledgable and thorough, introduced my son to first principles of guitar in his own studio in a relaxed way. Modes of education (reading guitar notes, music, etc) were introduced and explained. Extremely satisfied.

I've been learning songwriting and music theory from David and it couldn't be any better. He's very professional and personable, and he makes sure to work with you, not above you. He shows a genuine enthusiasm for his students' musical interests and formulates instruction around them. David encourages questions, which creates a comfortable and effective teacher-student interaction. Between my weekly lessons, I find myself impatiently counting down the days until my next scheduled lesson. While the genre of songwriting that I've been working on with David's guidance has been contemporary Christian, I'm sure that he would be an effective teacher in any genre, whether the student were writing songs or playing them.
I earned my bachelor's degree in music with emphasis in jazz performance in drums from Webster University in 2014.

I have known Vinnie for quite a few years now and have gotten to jam with him a couple times at the music shop he used to work at. Not only is he an incredible player, but an amazing teacher as well. If you are looking to learn theory, phrasing, or just fun riffs to jam to, this is the only teacher you will need.
