About Jason

I have been teaching and performing as a full time career since 1994. Over the years, I have developed an approach to teaching that is customized to the needs and interests of each of my students. I will help you set up musical goals, and then use your preferred learning style to help you achieve those goals.

Musicians think, learn, and create in many different ways. Some are visual learners, preferring to learn by studying diagrams and reading notes. Others learn intuitively, simply by listening, imitating, and then creating. My objective is to find the lear
ning style which works best for each of my students. I can help you set up musical goals, and then use your preferred learning style to help you achieve those goals.

*** Specialties ***
I'm comfortable teaching any style, from bluegrass to jazz, blues, rock and metal.

Richard C.

Glen Burnie, MD

About Richard

I am a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory with a Bachelor's Degree Major in Piano and a Teaching Certificate. Through my world-class teachers I can trace my musical education lineage directly to Mozart, Liszt, Haydn, Chopin, Mendelssohn and Beethoven. Over several decades I have taught more than 3,000 beginning and advanced students, a number of whom have gone on to earn piano performance scholarships from prestigious conservatories, music schools and universities. I have composed my own course method based on the piano teaching method of Carl Czerny, a student of Beethoven and the teacher o
f Franz Liszt. I often compose compositions for students that are based their four or five note ideas. Beginners quickly gain confidence to perform in public and learn to perform increasingly difficult and lengthy compositions such as the Beethoven sonatas, Chopin scherzos, works of J.S.Bach and many others all from memory. One of my students just completed, from memory, a Beethoven sonata of 28 pages. Every year my students perform, with a least three pieces from memory, at a public recital where each of them gets the opportunity to play before an audience.

*** Lesson Details ***
Students must have a piano or keyboard at home and are expected to practice every day. I have written and published the music and the course of study for all first year beginners; They learn proper fingering, how to memorize music by learning finger patterns, and how to count in rhythm. The time they spend in practice will determine how quickly they advance, and upon completion this initial course, they begin to study works by Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Chopin. Children can begin lessons from the age of 4, but until a child is 7 years old, parents must agree to be fully engaged in the process, willing to participate in the lessons and to practice regularly, with the child at home.

*** Studio Equipment ***
In my studio are two Mason Hamlin grand pianos. A professional concert adjustable stool and a collection of nearly all classical piano music.

*** Travel Equipment ***
When students come to my studio, I provide a grand piano; When I teach in my students' homes, they must have a piano.

*** Specialties ***
Vengerova Method based on the French School; Close Fingering Techinque

I am a senior in my 70s. Teacher very cordial. Liked his way of explaining the way to learn the piano. I never played so was a bit nervous. He inspired me. Practice lessons were enjoyable. Looking forward to my additional lessons. First time in my life with belief that I will be able to play the piano.

Belinda L.

Baltimore, MD

About Belinda

*** Lesson Details ***
NOTE: I prefer to teach students ages 11 & up.  I will accommodate younger students, but as vocal development is a direct reflection of physical development (the instrument is the body), we will be unable to delve deeply into technique.  Instead, the curriculum for younger students will include musicianship and piano skills; they will be more of music lessons that incorporate singing rather than "vocal" lessons.  My current studio consists of all sorts of singers including classical, musical theater, R&B, and pop.  In classical voice lessons, we will be learning songs n
ot only in English, but also Italian, German, and French. Classical voice lessons may not be for everyone, however, and we will learn repertoire that suits the interests of each student.

I emphasize a basic knowledge of music theory, because it's important for a singer to not only know how to sing, but to also understand the music he or she is singing. I will incorporate music theory into the lessons, starting with basics such as learning how to read notes.

I believe in making sure the singer is comfortable and confident.  The environment you will be learning in is open and non-threatening because a singer needs a place to explore his or her voice.  I encourage my students to make mistakes and to keep the lines of communication as open as possible.  Singers are perfectionists, and we're constantly telling ourselves what we do wrong- we don't need someone else enforcing that negativity.

I concentrate on a classical vocal technique, with proper posture, efficient breathing, lack of facial and body tension, and healthy vocal production. I believe that it is important to have a strong foundation of healthy technique no matter what style of singing. My teaching style and lesson focus will be different for each individual person, and I'm very flexible in adapting to each singer's needs and personality.

I am a very understanding teacher, and very patient, but I will push you to work to your potential! What you put into these lessons and your practicing is what you will get out of it. I am not strict, but I do expect dedication, passion, and respect. I am a very enthusiastic and energetic teacher, and lessons with me will be fun, productive, and encouraging.

If I sound like the right teacher for you, please arrange a trial lesson to see how well we work together!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Living room, piano, full-length mirror, comfortable seating for parents

*** Specialties ***
*Teachers classified as a Student Favorite have taught a minimum of 25 lessons and have received the highest feedback rating from students. I specialize in classical singing- applicable to any style of singing!

I have been working with Belinda for a little over 2 years. Every lesson, she challenges me to be better than before. What I love most about her style, is she customizes her style of teaching for the student. I am a very imagery oriented person, and she always helps me to visualize things in ways that makes sense to me. My singing has dramatically improved during my time with Belinda, and I would recommend her to anyone in a heart beat. Every lesson is different, every lesson is challenging in a new way, and every time I walk away feeling like that was the best lesson I've ever had. Thank you Belinda!!

I am a beginner guitar player inspiring to become the next Eddie Hazel (Of Funkadelic fame for you unenlightened ones). I was referred to Jeremy by a former music teacher at Anne Arundel Community College. I was able to set up a weekly time with him at his house. He has a very clean and professional setting. I have been taking lessons under Jeremy's tutelage for a few months now. I have to say I am surprised at my own progress. My technical skills are blossoming but it's the music theory that is the real gift that Jeremy has given me. I always shrugged theory off thinking if I can hear it, I can play it. But now I am beginning to see the doors that music theory can open. Music is a vast universe and I have to give him credit for opening my ears, eyes, and mind to the possibilities of soooouuunds.

Jeremy has been teaching my daughter, for the past nine months. He is a great instructor and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking to take guitar lessons! He is very patient with my daughter and has a great knowledge of what he is teaching. Jeremy comes to our home to give lessons which is very convenient since I work full time. I am hoping he will be able to start giving my son lessons as well as he has expressed a great interest in playing since his daughter has started.

Jordan is an excellent teacher, he can play just about anything on the guitar and he teaches you how to teach yourself. Ive been with Jordan for 3 years and I've gone from complete beginner to being in a band myself. I used to feel so overwhelmed and didn't know which direction to go,now i know how to learn a song on my own and how to build up my technique,i can improve on my own. Jordan is a great teacher and he pushed me and i'm super lucky to have found him. p.s.... Jordan is super beast of a guitar player too, i have my own band now but i still haven't seen anyone that's better than him
