Terrance J.

Frederick, MD

About Terrance

Hello! Here is a quick description of my studio information: I have been teaching private piano, voice and music theory lessons for over 18 years. While I consider myself foremost a performer and composer, I love sharing the joy and understanding of music with students young and old. With 25 years of performance experience, I have a wealth of knowledge and excitement for the art to share with my students from both the classical and musical-theatre repertoire. Voice – all ages (15 and older) focusing on bel canto techniques, predominantly utilizing the Marchesi Method (importance on intellectually understanding both the technical and the aesthetic nature of vocal music, from grand arias, show stopping Broadway solos to simple vocal exercises) Piano – all ages (5 and older).

Matt P.

Frederick, MD

My experience consists of singing and songwriting for over 6 years, avidly studying the methods of various world-class vocal coaches, and direct one-on-one training from one of the best vocal coaches in the world—Jaime Vendera.

My students learn about proper technique, how to take care of their voices, how to extend range, and much, much more!
My highest note used to be G4, but is now soprano A5. With the right techniques and amount of practice, you can achieve the same results with your voice!

About Matt

I am the go-to guy when it comes to: •Extending range •Building vocal power, strength, and stamina •Singing high with grit •Vocal/general health and wellness Your voice will soar if you train with me!

Joe R.

Glen Rock, PA

About Joe

Hello! I've been singing since before I can remember and playing instruments for almost as long. I have a passion for music. Whether it's being onstage at York Little Theatre, singing with the church choir in Red Lion, or paying with one of several local and regional bands, I love music and performing. There's no rush like sharing your passion with an audience, and I believe that with practice comes confidence and with confidence comes a great performer. I'll make my schedule/rates as flexible as possible to accommodate anyone who wants to learn! Let's get started!

Nicole R.

Glen Rock, PA

I have been teaching lessons since I graduated from High School in 2003. I plan each students lesson to help meet and exceed their personal goals and expectations. All students will work on diction, intonation, reading and understanding music/rhythms, breathing, and posture. I am very laid back and positive and try to make my students feel comfortable with their voices and singing in front of other people.

About Nicole

I have been singing my entire life and teaching since I was 18. I am very passionate about private instruction, as I have personally found the most success through this method of learning music. When I am not working, I can be found singing in my church choir, playing saxophone and/or bassoon in our Sunday School Orchestra, singing and playing bass in a 5 piece classic rock band, and spending time with my husband and our families and friends. I will do my best to provide as much of the music as possible, as I know that can be a huge added expense to private lessons, but there may be a couple of books or sheet music that you will need to purchase personally. I will tailor your lesson plan to help you meet your personal goals. I look forward to working with you/your child.

What Are the Best Songs to Sing to Show Off Your Vocal Range?
Many singing teachers agree that one of the most alarming things today is tuning in to television talent competitions and seeing nine-year-olds singing opera. Not only are the arias generally age-inappropriate, but they make vocal demands on the singer that often requires a training period longer than the child has been alive! Less publicly, but equally common, are singers who wrong-foot themselves with inappropriate repertoire at local singing competitions and music festivals. They might pick
