Nicholas is a professional cellist that has studied since the age of 9. He has now been teaching the cello, viola, and violin for the past seven years for students of all ages, beginner to pre-college level.
Throughout Nicholas’s career, he has been an active member of Honors Orchestras, Youth Symphonies, Chamber ensembles, Opera Symphonies, and his university’s symphony. His music consists of mostly a classical nature with some contemporary and popular music ensembles.
Nicholas trained for three years in college under the renowned cellist Martha Gerschefski, whose accomplishments are too many to list. He also trained under Christopher Rex, the principal cellist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Nicholas now holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance at Georgia State University.
We love Mr. Heaton. My son is 13 and on the autism spectrum and so focus can be hard for him, he was really struggling in school based orchestra because they couldn't give him one on one attention. He also struggles with fine motor delays (which is why we chose a string instrument). We've been doing lessons with Nicholas for almost a year now. Nicholas always takes his time with my child and is extremely patient. My son has gained SO much confidence since we began taking these private lessons. They work on not just learning to play cello but learning how to really understand/read the music and making sure that the techniques he's learning (hand positions, ways of sitting and moving) are all exactly what he needs to progress successfully in his orchestra and going forward. My son enjoys his lessons and I feel like we always get our money's worth. I can't wait to see where he will be another year from now working so closely with such an amazing musician and teacher.

Nicholas has been a great guide to my revisiting the cello. It had been almost 30 years since my last lesson, and he has reminded and coached many skills I had forgotten, and has taught me new ways thinking and playing.
I'm a retired teacher who has played guitar for over 45 years. I'm a fingerstyle guitarist and perform at weddings and special events. I've taught most styles to all ages. I'm probably not the one to teach your teenager to play heavy metal, however. I do teach fingerpicking, fingerstyle, country, beginning to intermediate classical, pop, classic and even Hawaiian slack key. I specialize in beginning children and adults.
I also teach mountain dulcimer, ukulele, beginning bass guitar , and beginning piano.
With children, I use a method book to teach music fundamentals and balance that by encouraging the child to learn to play songs that interest him/her. With adults, I want to teach what you're interested in learning. I believe we learn best when we are excited by the material and challenged to reach the next level.
taught special needs music students - Down's Syndrome, mild autism, adults with arthritis or who have suffered a stroke. My training as a teacher - I have a doctorate in education - makes me uniquely qualified to work with a wide range of student abilities. I spent 26 years in the classroom, the last 15 teaching gifted education.
I would be delighted to meet you and help you begin your musical journey!
I really enjoyed my lessons. She is wonderful and has a great personality. Jody is very knowledgeable and very patient. I am looking forward to my lessons with her on Fridays. If you are a beginner or a seasoned musician she would definitely be a great fit for you.

Dan is a great vocal instructor. Very methodical...no tricks or quick fixes. Pays attention to detail. Takes notes. Does not use a cookie cutter approach, but custom for each student. Very professional. I would highly recommend Dan as a vocal instructor.
Born in the city of Rock n Roll (Cleveland) David (Dave) a.k.a. "Blaq Pavarotti" was destined for music success. Son of a Gospel singer, nephew of a nationally celebrated radio announcer and gold selling BMI award winning writer, and Grandson of a man who once sang for President Roosevelt what else was he to do. His future was preset like a wedding between two royal families. Starting at age 4 he began singing in the church and eventually directed the children's choir. By the age of 15 Dave was summoned to become a
part-time radio announcer under his Uncle Lynn. This brought instant success to a teenager in his junior year of high school. For 16 years he would successfully lock down the #1 spots of any time slot he held. During his radio tenure Dave also spent a stint in the Virgin Islands as co-host of the Big Fat Morning Show. During those radio days he would go on to interview some of music's biggest stars from Martin Lawrence to L.L. Cool J, break major records, and work every shift in 5 different formats. The world of the music for Dave started with a bang as the late great Gerald Levert handpicked Dave and Jason Champion for Men At Large whom later would contribute to music history and topping charts and selling millions of albums. As well as singing Dave has appeared in over 26 stage plays, 9 movies as well as a host of judging, and hosting appearances across the country. He often takes time to mentor young artists who are trying to fInd their way in the biz with helpful advice or intuitive vocal and staging techniques. To date he has released 2 acclaimed solo albums. "Blaq Pavarotti " 2009 and "SomethinLikeTheGreatest" 2015 which yielded the top 4 single "Home". Home was also placed on TV shows "Single Ladies and "Scream Queens". Being a trendsetter for the plus sized and his love for looking and smelling nice Dave is starting a unisex vest line called "Invested". Vests in his eyes can be worn for all levels of events and can also be used as bulge hiders, which is the main reason for his passion for wearing vests.
Through it all Dave is a survivor and refuses to change his style for the watered down stylings of today'
I am a saxophonist, composer, and music guide. I studied music and jazz at Clayton State University, as well as Georgia State University. I have been performing and teaching saxophone for several years. I enjoy watching my students develop as musicians. Students will find that I'm just as excited to see them progress as they are! I encourage and motivate them to achieve the goals they have set, as well as give them the tools necessary to evaluate and exceed those goals. Students can expect to gain an appreciation for their personal growth and will enjoy the process as much as they will enjoy the end product. My job is to be both a resource and guide throughout the student's process in learning saxophone. I will implement students with skills that will not only develop them as musicians but will develop them as individuals. Students wi
ll also discover that enjoying the process of learning music, including its successes and failures, is a trait that will help them succeed at any task!

Originally from Israel with Artist Diploma from Cleveland Institute of Music and Bachelor degree in Voice Performance from The Buchmann-Mehtah School of Music in Tel Aviv. I've been enjoying teaching for the past few years, giving private voice lessons and helping my students reaching their goals. I've worked and learned from some of the best singers and teachers out there including Mark Oswald, Ana María Martínez, Barbara Bonney, Mary Schiller and Sandra Lopez. My favorite music to perform is contemporary music and so I've collaborated and premiered pieces by numerous living composers. I also love sin
ging bel-canto and baroque music. New and cool projects are what I love the most! and I hope to inspire for a creative use of your voice.
Our first lesson will be all about getting to know you and your needs. We will start with some breathing and vocal exercises that you can also do on your own in between lessons. It is especially important for me to know what are your expectations and goals for the short and long term. I will tailor our lessons according to your goals and interest.
I believe that with good technique you can be in charge of your own instrument which is crucial for any style of singing. That’s why my prime goal is to help my students build a good base of technique that will allow them to approach any musical genre they'll ever wish to.
In our lessons we will work on the strength and flexibility of the muscular system we need to engage while we are singing. I will give you unique exercises to strengthen the different registers of your voice. We will work on coordination and make sure you have as many tools on hand as possible. I will concentrate in our lessons on the musical genre/s of your choice. We will learn the specific style, the different trends that are out there right now and I will help you develop your unique signature. Looking forward to working with you!
"Ariel is a great teacher. He is patient and he encouraged in a great way. I am very happy and your school should be very proud to count with such a great
teacher. I am a true beginner and he gave me vocal and breathing exercises that will hopefully lead me to tune and sing. I am a teacher of English and my goal is not to perform . However I realized that singing is a very relaxing and therapeutic hobby. thanks a lot!!"
"Francesca knows her stuff. I was trained classically in the bel canto classical style when young, and now am doing "commercial" hard rock - but never ha
d that type of training, and want to maintain my singing health with whatever I'm singing. In just a few fun lessons, I've already gotten so much value from working with Francesca. Her ear is tremendous. She goes over the "what" of singing as well as the "how", and makes it easy to learn for anyone who has the "why" (ie, the passion to sing, no matter what style). I've never met a voice teacher that can so effortlessly and willingly transition with me in styles and technique, from opera to Iron Maiden! I'm stoked to be working with Francesca and you will be too!"
"She not only teaches you how to play piano, but also how to be a better musician in general. I"
"My son has been taking lessons from Kristilyn for about 6 months now and she has been amazing. My 16 year old is always over scheduled and Kristilyn has b
een more than willing to work around his schedule when the need has arisen. She has also helped him choose appropriate music for several auditions and practice for the auditions. She has stretched his limits on the bassoon with out frustrating him. We highly recommend Kristilyn as an instructor."
"Great instructor. Focuses on the basics and provides a lot of encouragement which helps. Also, allows student to decide what they'd like to learn and allo
ws you to select the type of music you are most interested in.
"Ms. Karen has been very patient with our first time piano player. My son practica without being asked and looks forward to his lessons with Ms. Karen."
"Michael is an excellent teacher with an easygoing personality - highly recommend!"
"Shows great patience with a novice and extremely knowledgeable about music theory."
"This was my daughter's first lesson with Michelle and she is so excited to continue with her as her singing teacher. Michelle has given my daughter valuab
le advice to improve her singing voice for auditions. I'm so glad we discovered takelessons!"
Learning the guitar is a great goal in itself - but you'll need to get more specific if you want to truly make some progress! Read on as Hillsboro, OR guitar teacher Geoff A. walks you through the goal-setting process...
The first goal is getting the fingers of the fretting hand to cooperate in forming chords. I begin with E, A, G, C, B7, and D chords. Practice ten to fifteen minutes twice a day and understand: your fingers will hurt a few weeks until calluses form, depen …
