The Uke is such a unique and fun instrument to play. Plus, it is probably the most accessible instrument I have ever taught. It’s great for those who can’t quite get the hang of guitar. It helps build strength and rhythm that carries over directly to the guitar and other stringed instruments.
One of my favorite things to do is play duets with students, and the ukulele makes for some interesting pairings of instruments.

My name is David and I'm a professional musician in the greater Cincinnati area. I attended the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. I teach guitar, piano, bass guitar and even upright bass. If it's a tutor you are looking for I can also teach music theory and appreciation. I

I searched for an excellent upright bass teacher for a good while. Then I found David Lloyd. David is patient, humorous, friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. He carefully taught me all the necessary groundwork to enable me to continue on my own for a while. In a few months I will, without question, continue my studies with David. I would, without hesitation, recommend David to anyone interested in seriously studying the Upright Bass.

David is awesome with kids, very calm and works well with those who need a little more encouragement. We’ve been with him for 3 months and are happy with the progress.

I find ukulele to often work better than guitar for many young students (typically years 10 and younger). When appropriate, the student can transition to guitar having increased hand strength and learned many of the concepts needed to excel. Of course, ukulele makes for a fun (and ultra-portable) instrument in its own right!

About Wes

I studied classical guitar and composition at Asbury College and later more in depth guitar studies rock, jazz, and classical at the Atlanta Institute of Music. I have been teaching steadily for the past ten years as well as spending my time with various other musical projects such as leading worshi

The ukulele is a fun instrument to play, and one of the easiest stringed instruments for beginners to learn. Yet it offers endless possibilities for more advanced players, and it's becoming as popular on stage as it is on the back porch or a camping trip.

We all have a vast wellspring of creative energy within us, and my goal as a music teacher is to help you discover your gifts and make beautiful and deeply satisfying music. For this reason, my approach to teaching music is customized to the needs, tastes, and strengths of each student. You'll be able to choose material from popular and familiar music in whatever style attracts you.

You'll learn some basic exercises to develop core skills, gradually increasing technical challenges as your skills grow. Most importantly, you'll use scientifically-based learning techniques to train your brain and build "muscle memory." Soon you'll find yourself moving smoothly between chords without missing a beat, playing by ear, or writing your ...

I've just done my first session w/Sean. I'm signing on for a while as he seems very approachable, knowledgeable, and flexible. He also has a varied background w/singing/songwriting/guitar playing which will work for my new approach. He also works in several complimentary areas of music & likes Rumi & J. I especially enjoy introducing beginners of all ages to the ukulele, which was my first musical passion as a young child! These days, my passion is working with my students in ways that prepare them to pursue their musical interests armed with correct posture and hand position, foundational technique, music-reading capabilities, and what I call the "building blocks" of music: knowledge of functional music theory and how to use it.

"Functional music theory" can sound daunting, but in fact it is fascinating, at least the way I teach it, using analogies appropriate to the age of the student, from chords like different types of sandwiches (yum!) to chord progressions like the materials and equipment used to build a house.

I also encourage my students from the start to EXPRESS themselves musically, emotionally, playfully, in ways that keep their imaginations engaged in their musical studies, rather than private lessons becoming stressful or tedious.

Note that young beginners ...

I was looking for an instructor who could help me with a refresher on my piano skills from when I was much younger and Teresa was the perfect find. She walked me through an accelerated piano book and has been more than flexible with my hectic and unpredictable work schedule. Would recommend Teresa to any new or returning piano/keyboard players

A few spectacular things about Terese and music:

1. She's good on Zoom, not all teachers are. Very personable!
2. She's fun and practical. I am teaching music to children and teenagers. She knows all the tricks with these age groups, passes them on and makes it easy.
3. She's deeply rooted in music, and respects and appreciates all kinds of music.
4. Teresa is a pragmatist and realist. She helps the student exactly where his/her need is greatest. She uses our time together well.
5. She shares delightful music sheets by email. For an upcoming Halloween-themed class I'm teaching, she sent me some "scary" ghosts songs that fit the bill perfectly.
