Since I came to New York in 2012, I have worked with lots of different choirs around the city with a vast array of styles from Renaissance to Contemporary choral music. I have worked in choirs since 1994, and I believe choral singing is an important tool for improving music skills.

For more than 20 years as an actor and teacher, I've enjoyed Improv Acting, a free thinking art form. Students learn to use their imagination, become many different characters, and truly 'think outside the box.' Improv is loads of fun! "The actor's playground!"

Master of Composition in Composition for Screen from Royal College of Music
The magic of the movies lies in the teams that make them possible. All kinds of influences converge to create a piece of music, and in film one of the most important is the relationship between the director and the composer. This relationship is what inspired Justin Hurwitz to create 1900 piano demos for La La Land. It's what sparked the idea behind John Williams' Iconic theme for Star Wars. We will delve deeper into character and story, and learn ways to compose music that truly enhances the picture. We will study how to create music with an arc, and that tells its own story. We will also hone technical skills in orchestration and in the latest software. We will learn about thematic development and constructing leitmotifs by studying scores such as The Godfather and The Lord of the Rings.
I am a dedicated teacher, pianist, composer and conductor. I love working with students and am happy to find the right method for each person. I graduated from the Royal College of Music in London and the Jacobs School of Music. My experience covers a wide range of musical styles and genres. I woul
