Guitar (Acoustic/Electric) lessons for beginners focus on finger placement, strumming, sight-reading, understanding groove and chord placement. Students will learn to care for their instrument as well as tuning the guitar. learning to play their favorite style of songs and ultimately be taught the skills to pick out a song and play it on their own!

I offer lessons in Guitar for all levels, having 5+ years of teaching experience and 12 in music education. I've taught children from 7 years old to adults 60+ from many different backgrounds, and my lessons are always structured the same way: To serve your needs, your goals and allow you to enjoy the process of learning.

I began playing when I was 11, and I find that for any beginner, it's important to start with material that gets instant "musical" sound from the guitar. This consists on learning the chords to your favorite songs, some easy riffs or melodies, and dicovering the path you want to take on the instrument. Once you get more advanced, technical aspects like music theory and how to use it creatively take a more important role in the lessons. Each lesson is tailored to fit each individual student. We will cover genres of music that's of interest to you, using music you enjoy most so learning the instrument will be fun. Even if you have experience playing acoustic guitar, I will be able to show you alternative strum patterns, useful techniques, tricks and short-cuts to make playing easier. I have a blast teaching and my students have fun learning!

Students will learn the anatomy of the guitar, strumming and picking patterns, chords, scales, theory, and how to read notation, tab, and lead sheets.

Learning how to play guitar is easy, with my step-by-step method (additional book purchase required). I give students the opportunity to learn simple technique that sets them up for future learning and beyond!
You'll learn how to hold your instrument, the parts of your instrument, how to tune it, placing fingers on the strings to get the best sound, strumming and picking. I'll throw in reading various types of written music covering chords and theory. You'll receive instruction, demonstration, and exercises for the very basics of operating it so you can master them in literally no time, and quickly move on to expanding technique and playing songs. You'll also learn how to sing and play at the same time so you can entertain your friends with the latest cover songs!
