Experienced piano teacher of 12 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! My lessons are a custom fit for each individual. There is no ONE way that everyone learns, and that is why I take the time to create lesson plans that are tailored to each student. Obviously, there are basics that every students needs to know, but beyond that, your personal musical goals will be at the forefront of your lessons with me!

*** Instructional Materials ***
I provide most instructional materials (worksheets, individualized lesson notes, etc.). I rarely use method books, but if a method book is desired, it will need to be provided by the student.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and continuing an emphasis on early childhood development. I started with piano 20 years ago (it’s shocking to see how time flies). Along with my students, I am still learning. It’s a non-stop learning however it is such a remarkable experience. I make sure the student gets the learning they deserve as well as meet their music goals. I do provide the necessary materials to get the student started and keep track of their musical progression. We play games and activities to help each student develop their piano potential. Currently we're playing water balloon games with rhythms, notes on the piano and staff. The students love how piano lessons can be incorporated outside. Providing opportunities to play in the community, that produces more experience and confidence as a pianist.

*Learn fundamentals of how to play, yet allowing students to learn other styles of piano music they are interested in.
*Students complete tasks and musical concepts to help them succeed as a musician.
*Spend time creating and composing new songs through games and activities, including Crazy Critter Composing.
*We make up songs about events that happen each day.

Here are the core things that I focus on in Piano lessons.

Alignment is the basis a great technique. Each person is different, and knowing how to help them release unwanted tension is critical.
Building hand coordination is essential to playing piano. A variety of agility and strengthening exercises will help you gain greater control and comfort in playing.

Articulation and phrasing is how pianists convey emotion. By Understanding the different colors available, a performer can create a dynamic and moving experience.

Selecting songs for your skill level and interest is important. Playing music you love will make your experience more enjoyable
