I tutor high school and college students, and help them get ahead of the program and stand out from their peers in subjects such as chemistry (first year and organic), mathematics (algebra, calculus, vector calculus, and differential equations), physics (classical Newtonian, modern, and electromagnetism), and English essay writing skills.
About Julia
My instruction extends nationwide, with students from all corners of the US, utilizing online tutoring services such as Skype.
My main field of study is in MATH (trig, algebra, geometry, precalculus), CHEMISTRY (high school and college), and PHYSICS (high school and college).
I completed my Bachelors in Physics and Mathematics Education at Hunter University and have gained experience with both in-person and online group instruction and curriculum development.
Some examples of the students I have tutored are: Elementary school students preparing for State competitions and exams; High school and College students in preparance for entrance exams, and in subjects such as algebra, geom
I do Regents and SAT/ACT prep for these subjects as well as the GRE (These are NYS based High School Preparatory Exams - do not hesitate to ask should you need assistance with the ones offered in your state/country).
In addition, I am thorough and meticulous, by paying special attention to how the student grasps information and retains it, I prepare individualized handwritten reviews, with supplemental material found online and in texts.
I assign homework to keep my students ahead of what is going on in class, and a visual and intuitive understanding of the concepts I present is important to me, so I use visual aids (diagrams and interactive models) to help my students integrate what they learn with me in real life situations.
My instruction includes:
1. Tutoring based on the school curriculum
2. Instruction on the home-schooling curriculum
3. Assisting those with a gap in going back to school/university.
I start with an assessment based on what the student has trouble with or last remembers covering in school, and prepare material going from there.
As a result, my students all have improved grades without any need for cramming before tests, and I encourage a stress-free and easygoing learning environment.
My lessons are fun and enthusiastic - these subjects are beautiful and will help open your mind to new ways of thinking - whatever your field of study!

I see marked improvements in their grades for this past year, and my eldest is actually skipping fourth grade as a result of lessons. I am astounded as to my girls' progress, and greatly appreciative of our tutor's expertise.
Her patient, methodical approach to teaching is why I see us remaining with her for all of our educational instruction. She has already taught arithmetic to my youngest (3rd grade), and algebra to my eldest (starting 5th this sept!), and is proceeding with more advanced math with no issue whatsoever. I cannot recommend her enough.

I have dealt with precalculus for years and can help you master it as well! Calculus is very much a language and learning to speak it is not so daunting with the right teacher. I am that person.
I have dealt with calculus from high school to the present. I took AP calculus BC and scored a 5 on the AP test. I've also taken calculus III and Differential Equations and TAed the latter in college. I have worked with multiple students in precalculus and worked with the material continuously as a physics major. I can help you exceptionally well in your preparation for calculus (or in completing this class if it's your final math class!)
Concerning Pre Calculus, I am more than prepared to work with you in meeting your goals. Shoot me a message to tell me your goals and I'll help you meet them!
About Alex
I have been playing piano for over 12 years. I retrained from scratch in the Taubman Technique a few years ago and play with ease and effortless musicality! I have taught tons of students how to play the instrument, incorporating these concepts into their playing as well.
I also tutor in STEM topics, including all math, physics, chemistry, and others. I have tutored over 2 dozen students and helped many achieve great results. I have a Master's degree in applied physics, graduated Magna cum Laude, and am fully prepared to help you master your math/science class
Schedule a lesson with me! See yourself improve from someone who knows how people think and understands the topics enough to impart the same onto you!

With a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, I have taught basic engineering at UC-Berkeley as a graduate student. Materials Science requires strong math and algebra background. I also taught basic engineering in the Gifted Youth Program at Stanford University. I have been teaching Data Visualization online at the University of New Mexico. In this class, I pioneered the methods of using art as a visualization tool to teach students math, which I believe it can be easily applied to students at all ages.
My Tutoring Style:
I come up with a lesson plan catering for each student's need. In the first few lessons, I will introduce you the basic concepts required to the subject. In the next few lessons, you will be able to gasp the subjects by practicing example questions under my guidance. Each example question is designed to cover a certain concept introduced in the first few lessons. The ultimate goal for you is to learn the concept ...

I have helped more than 100 students to overcome the fear of math.
With a Ph.D. in materials engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, math and algebra have always been my favorite subjects at school. I scored perfectly in GRE Quantitative and a 3.9 GPA in college math classes (calculus 1, 2, 3. Linear Algebra, Calculus AB, BC, Statistics).
With more than 10 years experiences (Online and face-to-face combined) in classroom teaching engineering, science, and art, I have been tutoring various math topics (from Middle School to College Calculus) online since 2015.
I am well organized and enjoy breaking down complex math problem into simple terms. I love working with students one-on-one. I find that when I have a chance to accommodate students' individua
I have a passion for math. For me, tutoring math, is not only helping students to excel in standardized tests, or gain good grade in a class, but also teaching students who want to learn math, the rule that governs our world, at an extremely thorough, in-depth level.

Students will learn the concepts and apply them through a lot of practice problems. Through the practice, students will have a full knowledge of the concept(s).
About Andrew
Working with others and helping them succeed has been something I've loved to do for a while now. While I was in high school, I was a coach for one of the local swim teams and had a blast getting to teach people how to swim and such, and the best part was getting to connect with those kids and seeing them succeed during the swim meets.
Once I graduated, I had the privilege to serve as a full time volunteer in Brazil for a couple years, where my
Now in college, I've strived to continue this pattern with the little free time that I get during the week and on the weekends due to my classes. Throughout all of this, I've discovered how easy it is for me to connect with people and how much fun it can be.
What I bring to the lessons:
I always ensure to provide the highest quality lessons and ensure that the student easily understands the materials. I'll provide materials that I know will assist the student to master the concepts.
My expectations:
Learning requires the student to put in effort. Any assignments I give, I will expect them to be completed. I understand that sometimes one of "those weeks" comes around where life hits us in the face, but it's not every week.
Your expectations:
You've come to me obviously to learn something new, and I intend to go above and beyond those expectations. I want the lessons to be more than just sit down, do the work, and then leave. That's not a great way to learn stuff, in my opinion. Expect to be brought out of your comfort zone a bit and experience things you never experienced before. Above all, expect to see these lessons as an enjoyable experience.

I've been tutoring students in Math of all levels from Pre-Algebra all the way up to Calculus for over 5 years. My philosophy is teaching you how to approach each problem rather than simply giving you a straight answer. My goal is to help you see the patterns between different questions and help you develop a solid strategy for each type of question you approach.
About Nicholas
I graduated with honors from the University of California, Berkeley in 20
I have over 1000 hours of tutoring and teaching experience, and am comfortable with Math, Physics, Chemistry, Writing, English, French, ACT, and SAT. My only policy is that you do not simply ask me for the answer, but rather help me help you through questions. A big part of your college career is that you find yourself not being able to ask the right questions to guide you to the answer, and I want to be here to help you learn that skill. I will help walk you through all the steps of the problem and clarify the theory along the way so that you can gain mastery of the material. However, if you are simply asking for someone who will give you a quick answer without a thorough explanation, please seek another tutor.
I can tutor ACT Math, ACT English, ACT Reading, ACT Writing, ACT Science, SAT Math, SAT Writing, Algebra 2, Algebra 1, Biostatistics, Statistics, AP Statistics, AP Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus BC/AB, Introduction to College Calculus, Probability, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, Introduction to College Physics, and Introduction to College Chemistry. I also have extensive experience with college admissions guidance and organization & study skills.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you master the topics you are studying!

I have been teaching and/or tutoring Precalculus since 2003 at the middle school, high school, and university level, in person and online. Precalculus demands patience, attention to detail, and reasoning skills which I help the student achieve while at the same time converting frustration into determination and growth.
About Nathan
I love tutoring and my approach is three-fold. First, I help each person learn how to become more successful and independent lifelong learners. Second, each tutee should complete their assignments as much as possible before each session so we can identify and focus on specific trouble spots. Third, I work within the framework and scope of their primary mathematics teacher to supplement and augment what is happening in the classroom.
I have experience as a nationally certified tutor, tutoring in high school and college, as well as volunteer tutoring of the GED math tests. I have also taught middle and high school mathematics and instructed college mathematics. I enjoy working with teenagers and adults of all ages. My tutoring and teaching experience includes element
I also teach university math remediation classes (AKA developmental education) as well as classes to bypass remediation by preparing for the Accuplacer/Compass admission tests.
I am familiar and comfortable with current technology (graphing calculators, computer algebra systems, computers, mathematics programming) as well distance learning (online homework and testing and MyMathLab, WebAssign, Khan Academy, Skype, etc.).
In addition to tutoring online I enjoy working in person with each student. Meeting at local public libraries is ideal as some branches have reservable private and safe study rooms with white boards.
For each appointment the tutee needs to bring all their materials, text book, class notes, completed homework (as much as possible), specific questions for me, and any completed instructions from our previous session. If online homework is used in class then please bring a laptop. If you don't have one, there are often Chromebooks available for checkout at the library. One hour appoints are preferred because they allow more time for specific learning and growth.
Additionally, I can supplement or substitute regular homework with specific and tailored lesson plans.
Shortly after each session, I will report our progress and my obervations, including instructions for follow up.
I strongly recommend use of the WyzAnt app for easier communication and calendaring purposes.
I enjoy helping each tutee recognize that they are, in fact, capable of learning and succeeding in mathematics. I look forward to the opportunity to serve.
