Sheer technique is necessary but insufficient to play an instrument well. Aural skills, that include the study of functional tonality and voice-leading are important factors that impart musicality. This is of great import if the prospective musician wants the audience to truly enjoy his or her performance !
Whether it be the 3 Rs or preparation in the performing arts, a remarkable instructor must go well beyond the subject matter at hand and help imbue the student with a spirit of wonder that, in due time, will foster enthusiasm necessary for excellence.

I am a sophomore in high school, and currently taking calculus. I have tutored and taught lower level math for several years now. I prefer to teach elementary and middle school level math but can also teach beginning high school students. Appreciate seeing example material ahead of a session in order to prepare a lesson and possibly work out several of the problems in advance.
As a student myself I personally understand the difficulties of school, as well as the pressure that is put upon students by their teachers and parents. I realize all people learn at different paces and with different styles and really hope to be able to help.
I have taught in special needs classrooms in the past and have experience working with mentally challenged students. I am happy to make lessons specific to certain students and help complete study guides or go over a quiz/test, to help correct missed problems to avoid missing in the future.

I am also a cadet in the US Army JROTC program, where I have become third in command for the county. I have learned to work with others even when having different opinions or views, and I have become more comfortable talking and interacting with other people.
In my future, I am attending medical school on a full ride scholarship to become a surgeon for that Army. I will spend four years in the Army, and then transfer into the civilian world as a trauma or orthopedic surgeon.

I have been teaching for 10 years and have experience in both elementary and middle school.
My teaching is unique in the sense that I not only share knowledge with my students, but I also elicit knowledge from them. For example, while I am teaching, I didn’t simply teach formulas and methods of solving problems, I also explained to my students the value of understanding numbers and the great things we can use math for, such as the ability to think logically. I am sure to individualize instruction for all students to meet their needs.
