From Contemporary Christian Music all the way to Heavy Metal and everything in between, I equip my students with not only the necessary skills to proficiently play most genres, but with the confidence to excel both on the stage and in the studio. With years of professional touring and recording as the guitarist of a Christian Worship band and employment as the worship leader at several different churches, I'm your guy when it comes to all things church-related. But hey, if that's not your thing, don't look away just yet as I also have 15 years of heavy metal/rock and roll experience as well as a deep love for the pop-punk and folk genres (with much experimental dabbling in the areas of blues, jazz and bluegrass). Whether you're a beginner who's still trying to get those tough barre chords down, an intermediate player who's looking to shred the neck even faster, or someone who's never even touched a guitar, I encourage you to take a step of boldness and let me help you become the best ...

About Eli

When I was a child I begged my parents to buy me a guitar, and as I grew up, year after year, I eagerly watched as each of my siblings (I have 7) received their very own "axe" on Christmases and birthdays. I waited and waited...but mine never came. Even my younger siblings got theirs before I did. S

I can help you to make real progress!

There are not shortcuts to become a great player but if you take lessons you can save a lot of time, don't waste your time doing things wrongly, I can help you reach your goals.

1) We will work on your technique and you will be able to play anything you want. These are some of the techniques that I can help you to master: Alternate Picking, Economic Picking, Hybrid Picking, Hammer-on/Pull-off, finger picking, tapping and more!

2) You will learn all the theory you need to understand the music you play. This is very important because when you understand what you play you can learn faster and memorize a lot of song and pieces.

3) You will learn all the concepts you need to improvise over any chord progression. As Bruce Lee said "Be water my friend" with this I want to mean you will be able to improvise within any situation.

4) We will work on you favorite music and songs. Yes! We will have fun too.

My main goal is to help you make progress, ...

Eloy is a very advanced player. He is super nice and SUPER patient. I understand everything he is doing right out of the box for me. I have been playing on and off for about 5 years. I love to play lead. He starts me out with scales. The back bone of lead. He knows exactly where to start. I have had a really positive time with him and actually booked many many more lessons with him. I HIGHLY recommend Eloy for lessons. Thank you Eloy!!

Guitar students start with five subjects.

1) Technique is concerned with the development of the physical mechanics involved in playing the instrument.

2) Scales are a part of basic music vocabulary and building blocks of the musical language.

3) Chords are also basic vocabulary of the musical language.

4) Note reading is not required for every student. It really depends on the students' goals. However, I strongly encourage everyone learn to read musical notation, (more than tablature). Literacy in reading music is analogous to literacy in reading in our English language. Can you imagine how much smaller our world would be if we couldn't read?

5) Songs utilize the skills and concepts of all the previously mentioned subjects and are the goal of studying music. The student chooses what songs they want to play, guided by my suggestions; Jazz, rock, blues, country, bluegrass, R &B - "How deep is the ocean, how high is the sky?"

A beginning student will practice all

Phil is a consummate musician and is extremely knowledgeable and patient. He helped me to arrange several songs and encouraged me to write my own arrangements, as that really helps one better understand the instrument. I loved our lessons on learning all the scales and modes, too.

I have been taking lessons with Billy since January 2015. I am a total beginner and I really think I have made the best choice ever to pick him as my teacher. Billy is an experienced guitar teacher and a professional player that knows great techniques for beginners. He has been teaching me basics of guitar in a smart way, and at each lesson I feel I learn something new and at the same time I can clearly see how much progress I have made since our first lesson. He has also been teaching me how to read music and tabs which proofed to be extremely useful every time I want to learn a new song by myself. Highly recommended!

Mike taught Leo in person before the pandemic started and has been doing online lessons with him for the past eight months. He is amazing with both. Leo has a very short attention span, but a deep love for music. Mike has been able to hold Leo’s attention every week for over a year — even during online lessons. Leo has become an awesome little pianist, and has developed a love for the piano. It has given him the ability to express all of his feelings and has helped his attention span for his schoolwork. Mike has so much patience, and always inquires about Leo’s favorite activities. He is great with kids and makes them feel so comfortable. Leo loves his “booming voice” and the free play blues music they get to play together every lesson.

I have had innumerable music instructors over the course of many years, including group and now individual guitar lessons with David. Without reservation, in all regards he is the best I have had. "I've tried to take guitar lessons a few times over the last few years and it's been difficult to find a good Instructor. In my experience the instructors I have found have either been flaky (canceling lessons, changing times last minute, hard to reach, etc...) or their teaching style is difficult to follow (unorganized or confusing). Paul is both very reliable and very organized. He's lessons are easy to follow and I feel like I am moving forward in a way that has purpose. I have not been working with him long but I already see big improvements because what he has me working on makes sense. Paul is also really personable and fun to work with. He is very patient and is the perfect combination of being focused but laid back at the same time. I am really enjoying my lessons with him."

5 Easy Songs for Kids to Play On Guitar

Are your kids looking for easy songs to play on guitar? Get them started with these great suggestions from guitar teacher Willy M.... That first guitar lesson is critical for establishing a love of playing in our students, but most of the time teachers approach the instrument as though we need to prepare the student for the worst. "It will be difficult... You have to put in a lot of practice... Your fingers will hurt, etc." These things only serve to discourage the student and the parent, who …

5 Easy Guitar Licks to Impress Your Friends

Learning a few simple licks is a great way to get started playing the guitar! Even better, some of the most famous riffs in rock and roll are incredibly easy to play.
