Richard gave my son, who never played drums before lessons. He thought him how to practice correctly for better results. Richard is a great teacher because my son now plays in Jazz band at school. Hire Richard for great results.

Richard taught my son drum lessons while Jake was in college a few years ago in Atlanta, Ga. He gave him a great foundation to build from, teaching him rudiments on the snare and applied it to the drum kit. My son really enjoyed learning from him, he says its because Richard challenged him but always made it fun! Jake continues to play today with a band he formed!
Richard is a true professional, has pro chops and is very personable. He's a great drummer and just a great guy! Highly recommended!!

Great drum teacher. I studied with Richard about a year. I had played before, but Richard helped me build a better drumming foundation and guided me to me play better.
I now am able to play in a cover band and use some of the concepts and techniques that I learned from my lessons with him.
I highly recommend Richard for drum lessons.

"Jimmy is the best instructor ever!! I went into playing drums not really having any knowledge of music what so ever. I have been playing for 7 months now and I have learned so much. He is so encouraging and is always giving you positive feedback on how your doing and it makes you feel good about yourself and how you play. I am always learning new things about my instrument and how important my roll as a musician is no matter who I am playing with or for. With Jimmy the lessons might be once a week but he is always there no matter what day or time to help you out with any questions you may have. He is the best there is no one else like him!!! Every lesson is fun and I look forward to going every week!!"

He keeps it fun, easy and motivational, but also has challenged our little drummer. He is very encouraging and positive with our son's progress. John is always on time and is a great communicator. "Ray R. is what I would call a "Performance Teacher" to me. I am a guitarist and play with him to improve everything from rhythm to live performance skills. Not only is Ray an absolute beast of a musician, he is a wonderful teacher. As many people may know, just because one is a good musician it doesn't necessarily mean you also know how to be an effective teacher. Ray is the best of both worlds! I have improved leagues since I started playing with him some months ago. I COULD NOT recommend his as a teacher enough."

How to Read Drum Sheet Music | How to Play Drums

Think drummers don't need to read music? Think again! Drum sheet music is a great way to learn your favorite beats and write things out so you will remember them later. Drum sheet music is written on the same five line staff as traditional music. At the beginning of the piece, you'll see the time signature. Written like a fraction (4/4 or 7/8, for example), the time signature lets you know how many beats to play in each measure and what the rhythm should be. You should also see the number of …
