Yoga and meditation have been in my life for ten years. After training and being certified with a Yoga Alliance school, I started teaching six years ago. I love teaching beginners and using therapeutic modifications to safely engage with injuries.

Yoga is a practice that can offer many gifts. The movements and other practices, like mindful breathing and guided meditation, bring stress-relieving benefits, no matter what practice level or time commitment.

I have been taking Liam's Tai Chi/ Qi Gong class for nearly two years now. He is a dynamic teacher that is sensitive to different types of learning paces and styles (both eastern and western) and employs both in his classes. His explanations are simple and he always relates the movement back to its origin as a martial arts defense/offensive move which helps one establish the intention behind the movement. I have learned yang short form and chen style short form from him. I would highly recommend that you take his class if you are interested in beginning or continuing a tai chi practice. Through my practice I have found a healthy way to manage stress and anxiety.

In 2006 I began my personal journey with yoga. At first it was a way to lose a little weight and get free of some of the stresses of my daily work life. But, I quickly fell in love and soon devoted myself to daily practice. In 2011 I completed my first 200 hour yoga teacher certification course in hot yoga. In 2014 I decided to grow my knowledge and completed a second 200 hour certification in Vinyasa yoga. My teaching style can be personalized to best serve the student. My purpose as a yoga teacher is to provide students with a way to move forward in their own personal journeys. Yoga is an art and a science that can touch mind, body and soul. Morissa is a great teacher. Her classes are always so well thought out and structured. She is very creative with her flow and offers lots of guidance through out class, most especially during the peak pose. I love taking her class because I always feel calm and centered afterwards. I focus on alignment making sure you are moving in and out of postures correctly as well as while you are in the posture. This prevents injury and will allow you to get the most benefit from the practice.

I also teach pranayama (breath work), philosphy (Niyamas, Yamas, etc.), meditation and inward focus.

Iryna's has a deep understanding of what my body needs and builds the class sequence accordingly.   She has taught me anatomical details that have made a huge impact in my practice, allowing me to go deeper into poses and even proposing me to try advanced poses that I have never tried before. During class, we will focus on breath. Breath-centered yoga can have a number of benefits for your body, such as relaxation, warming up the core, and getting your body ready to support you in various poses.
Yoga can always be customized to meet the needs of each individual (That's my favorite thing about it!). So, depending on what you hope to get out of our time together, I can teach a more gentle flow or something a bit more intense. Either way, my goals are for you to spend time getting to know yourself and your body better, have fun, release some stress, and feel better at the end of the lesson.

I have taken several classes with Erin, in both large-group and private settings but, while I have attended other yoga classes before at a couple of yoga centers in Brooklyn, I have enjoyed Erin's classes the most. Her approach to yoga is centered around what an individual is able and comfortable to do during the class. In other yoga classes, I have sometimes felt like everyone is miles ahead of me and I'm just trying to keep up with what is going on. In Erin's classes, I think she does a great job of keeping momentum going for the whole class while tailoring the flow for each person depending on their abilities. Erin manages to be very knowledgeable and encouraging while never seeming pretentious or pushy, and I really appreciate that. I have consistently felt that I walk away from Erin's classes more open, relaxed, balanced, and fit. I'm happy to give her a great recommendation.

I am specifically a PRANA specialist. I teach pranayam (aka breath work) combined with Hatha style meditation.

This is specifically effective for those with health or breathing issues, or singers/actors who want to tone their voice. I combine breath with meditation and toning.

This is James located in Belmont Shore, California. I have had the pleasure of teaching privately since 1984 and I have also taught at CSUF, Orange Coast College/Coastline Community College, Orange County High School of the Arts and Huntington Beach Academy of the Performing Arts. I'm also currently on faculty at University of West London: London College of Music as a US representative coach for their music grade programs and advanced diploma/degrees.
