I love teaching violin and have been doing it for over 10 years. I believe private lessons are an essential component to successful musical development and growth. It is my hope that my students develop the tools they need to become independent musicians. I strive to create an atmosphere that fosters not only growth in technique, but in character, personal discipline, and a long-term appreciation for music. Every lesson is tailored to fit my student's needs and interests.

Shadwa is awesome! She’s very patient and understanding of student needs. She’s also very encouraging and helpful, whether you’ve had violin experience or not, and makes learning to play so much fun!
Christine
I have learned a lot from my lessons with Shadwa. She has a knack for explaining technique, for making the connections between the physical movement and the sound produced. (Yes, it really does help to stand up straight!) She takes a personal interest in her students, which makes for a great lesson atmosphere. We established longer term goals that we could work towards; I appreciated her patience and creativity. Even scales became more than just boring drills! I definitely recommend her as a viola teacher for adults!

I use a hybrid approach of Suzuki and string method books with my violin and viola students. Rhythm/note reading is taught as well as how to create a beautiful tone. Familiar songs are played starting on the first day! I also conduct a string orchestra and students are encouraged to join after achieving a certain level of proficiency to enjoy the benefits of performing with others.

About Shannon

Music is my passion, my hobby, my career and my gift. I have been performing since age 7 and teaching for the last 25 years. I have a bachelor's and master's degree in music and love to share my knowledge and experience with all ages and aptitudes - even special needs. My approach to teaching is

She is amazing violinist and teacher. Best in Atlanta. She was trained by incredible violinists in Europe and I love her sense of humor. Don't settle for unqualified teachers, just listen to her recordings and read her qualifications. Four degrees... a doctorate etc.

I've been teaching violin privately and in groups for 7 years. My most recent teaching experience was volunteering in Haiti last summer, where I taught at three different summer camps. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to hold the instrument and as time goes on you'll be able to play simple to more advanced melodies. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

About Katie

Hello potential student! My name is Katie and I can't wait to meet you. I have been teaching violin lessons since 2008 and have loved helping my students develop a passion for music and a stronger connection to the world around them. I graduated from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 2015

Katie was exceptionally patient and encouraging with my five year old daughter. She was a major asset in teaching my daughter the basics of violin - including proper stance and note formation. I could not recommend her enough.
Michele
Katie was a wonderful violin teacher for my son (four years old at the time). Katie knew how to make learning music and the violin fun through games and various activities. She was attentive and patient, kind and encouraging. She worked with us to allow him to participate in the annual recital--she played a simple, beautiful song while he plucked an open string. She is reliable, accessible, and caring. Couldn't ask for a better, more qualified, and dynamic teacher than Katie to facilitate a positive musical experience a young child.
Michelle
I greatly enjoyed my violin lessons with Katie. She improved my violin technique, encouraged me to tackle challenging solo pieces, and helped me prepare for youth orchestra auditions. She also guided me in producing video recordings for my college applications. On top of that, she is extremely patient and cheerful. Katie is the best!

Hello! I've been teaching violin and piano for 10+ years to students of all ages. I love helping beginners learn about the fun world of music, and helping intermediate/advanced students hone their skills.
I have a minor in music from Brigham Young University and have played in many different orchestras. I love to have students try music from different styles, and also teach basic music theory and ear training skills.
I offer in person or video lessons, whichever you prefer.

I also teach piano for beginners/intermediate level. The way I teach, a student can be playing songs very quickly, even while working on basic skills and learning how to read music. I love opening up the world of the keyboard and how to match it to what you see on the music!
