I am an accomplished painter, illustrator, and graphic designer, specializing in figurative art. I have been teaching art classes since 1984 , at elementary, college and adult levels, beginner, intermediate and advanced. I am also an instructor at Art e Vino studio, a paint 'n sip, which is where I engage customers in the fun of art-making!
I feel that my combined artistic skills and ability to have fun will make for a unique learning experience, with solid results as a goal.

I have a wide range of artistic interests and skills in both traditional and non-traditional media.
I keep my skills sharp by working indoors from life, outdoors from nature, copying old master and Impressionist paintings at the Brooklyn Museum of Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I have been a professional painter artist and musician for 10 years. I received my BFA from SMU in Fine Art and Painting and have exhibited my work in galleries, shows, exhibitions and sold it at auction. My teachers have included Steve Wilder, Barnaby Fitzgerald, Bill Komodore, Massimo Lippi, Jay Sullivan, and others.

Plein Air, Still Life, and Figurative works are my specialties, but I have also studied the development of the abstract language.

I'm also acquainted with old master mediums and techniques such as egg tempera, grinding pigments, etc.

About Perry

Hello! My name is Perry and I am a professional classical, flamenco and electric guitarist performing and recording in the Dallas area. I studied with Robert Guthrie at SMU for many years, as well as Brad McLemore of "Soul Food Cafe" and professional jazz musician Chuck Pangburn at Booker T. Wa

Perry takes the time to explain flamenco and related styles deeply and thoroughly. He also provides detailed micro-scale feedback on hand/arm placement, orientation, range and which muscle groups to engage. But more than the technical, he has an awesome vibe and makes learning guitar quite an enjoyable experience.

"My teenage daughter is interested in drawing realistically and she wasn’t really learning that at her art class in school. She’s been doing a series of lessons with Eileen and the drawings she’s been making are wonderful! Of course I’m biased but my daughter has really been enjoying the experience."

"I've known Emily for years and while I'm not an artist, I have observed her teaching children how to draw, particularly during summer classes at the College of Saint Rose in Albany. She always tries to make each activity fun and engaging and does her best to help everyone understand how to draw, paint, sketch, and even how to design good characters. She genuinely does care about art, and that passion shines into her lessons for sure.

I don't draw, but if I chose to, I'd definitely pick Emily as my teacher over anyone else."

So my son is having a great time with Jason who has a great way of giving feedback and steering Cody using a balance of instructions and positive feedback. Cody is definitely enjoying his lessons and I am seeing real progress. I feel like I did the right thing investing in these lessons and giving Cody a great summer with a wonderful instructor. "Brendan is a great instructor! I've taken both painting and drawing lessons with Brendan and I've learned more from taking a few lessons with him then I thought I could learn in a year! His lessons are both fun and insightful with his teaching methods combining expressionist style and technical skills.
