As a voice teacher, I specialize in classical style of singing, but I have also worked with more contemporary styles like R&B and Hip Hop. As an avid dancer and actor, I also teach about portraying a message through performance and bonding with your audience. In my voice lessons, we will work some on technique and also on presentation and the performance aspect of music.

I have been teaching guitar for the past 10 years. I really enjoy teaching guitar and seeing my students learning and enjoying it too! I use a book that I really like but of course I add other materials when I think it is suitable for my student. Each student learns differently so I adapt to his learning style and to his needs.

About Soraya

About me, I have been playing the guitar for more than 20 years. I studied at the Conservatory of Music in France. In San Francisco, I studied and played with many great jazz musicians and teachers. I have also studied theory/ composition, electronic music, and voice. I hold an MA in Education.

I've been working with Soraya for over two years. My experience with taking lessons from Soraya has been a wonderful journey of self discovery as well as learning an amazing instrument. My schedule is quite busy and I also have a 10mo old so I don't have a lot of time to practice. However somehow Soraya's teaching technique keeps me moving forward during every class. We meet once a week and I am always excited for my lesson. Sometimes it has been really challenging to learn new chords and yet she is always patient with me and curates the lessons if she sees I need more time on something. Now I am learning a new song that I picked out and it's been so much fun. I highly recommend Soraya and her knowledge about music theory is an added bonus.

This teacher never showed up to my appointment. Her phone number was disconnected.. so much for buying 10 lessons in advance.

Bel Canto singing technique for the modern singer is taught in private and group classes. No one sounds like old opera singers, even if the student wants to sing opera. Students are allowed to choose most of the material they learn in the lesson. There will be times when Rachel will suggest a song to a student but if the student doesn't enjoy the song, they will work as a team to find a new song that does work for the student. Gain a better tone quality, complete control of your voice, bigger range, more flexibility, and confidence. Learn healthy voice technique, how to fully take care of your own voice so you can sing for the rest of your life (even after lessons), and eventually become a self sufficient performer for life.

About Rachel

Rachel is fully background checked by three different companies and is also fingerprinted. Rachel's private studio is where you not only learn healthy technique, but how to become a self-sufficient artist. Professional training and customized programs in singing and acting technique. All learnin

My 9 yr. old daughter received singing lessons with Rachel. Rachel was SO wonderful, patient, and creative with every session with her. She was constantly coming up with different ways to keep her engaged and was always reassuring her to increase her confidence. She gave great constructive feedback on how my daughter was doing and what she can work on to improve. I give her 5 stars! Thanks so much, Rachel!

Overall, very impressed. She is direct and doesn't tell you something you want to hear. Her evaluation process is well rounded and planned. She puts together a great curriculum to know what to expect in the coming lessons. Very easy going person and makes you feel completely comfortable at the initial lessons.

As a professional concert artist, I have traveled the world performing and working with great musicians. My focus has not only been on the art and craft of performance, but on pedagogy and the process of learning - which is an art in and of itself! My lessons are compactly designed and and focus on the individual capacities of the student, not only on guitar playing, but also the skills necessary to be a complete musician: rhythm, harmony, theory, technique, interpretational prowess, a well-chosen, diverse repertoire, improvisation...

Having initially studied classical guitar, I have gone on to learn many different styles on many different instruments including multiple ethnic instruments and musical systems as well as historical instruments and performance practice (lute, vihuela, baroque guitar, etc).

I also compose and am delighted when students wish to learn theory and composition techniques.

About Polivios

As a professional concert artist and composer, I have been incredibly fortunate to travel the world, giving concerts in a wide variety of musical styles alongside some truly incredible artists. I am deeply passionate about teaching and the learning process. I truly feel that making art, and especi

"yesterday was my first vocal lesson with Darrell. he is definitely one cool dude. My first impression is that he is very thorough. I like that we are starting from the ground up learning fundamentals. it is noteworthy that I am blind. I only say this because from the get-go he was open minded to adapt the session where we needed. I look forward to my upcoming lessons."

"I had never had vocal training before so it was scary for me to even have anyone listen and judge my voice. However, with Eric it was easy to become comfortable with my surroundings and let loose. He helped me prepare for my audition at a performing arts school and took his time to help me. He is extremely supportive and overall a really cool guy!! Will be booking again. _ Cris"

She moves at the student’s pace, and keeps a good handle on the progression of the lesson, so that you get a good chunk of instruction/learning while not being overwhelmed. I’m a newbie at music instruction, and Sharon was wonderful in every aspect for someone starting like me. I’m sure she’d be just as fabulous for a more experienced piano player."
