I have been teaching professionally for 22 years. I have a specific style of teaching computer programming--it's whatever method works best for your learning style!! Besides learning computer programming, I will teach you the tools you need to make sure you have all the tools you need to be the programmer you would like to be! Today's computer programmers are expected to know the importance of usability for your audience, search engine optimization and how to create graphics and more. You will learn why things and what are your best reference tools to turn to if you ever need them! I make it fun and accessible to learn--as it should be. Humor is a great enabler to unlock your greatest computer programming. Anyone can teach and anyone can learn, but when you connect with your teacher who shares your goals and objectives it is a whole new level of what you can do.

About Zack
I have been teaching computer programming (HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, Frameworks and more) and Photography for over 20 years. I teach software programs such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and more. If you want to learn how to design or manage social media website, I'll help you too. I believe that the best teachers adapt to the ways the best work for their students. The environment for Take Lessons makes it very easy to adapt to what works best for you. If it's online or in-person, I'm your teacher and I really look forward to meeting you and helping you unlock your interests and greatest potential. - Zack

Zack has really taught me a lot as far as basic html, how to create easy email templates and basic coding skills for microsites. His skillset knows no bounds. Has vast experience to draw from, has the patience of a saint, has been teaching for a really long time. But private lessons are where its at. That way you can learn exactly what you want, and not syphon through the stuff you really don't need to help your career, along.

Learn how to code using easy to understand programming language such as Python

About Tunde
I'm a Computer Engineer, working for big semi-conductor company in Austin, TX. I've been in the IT field now for more than 10 years and I truly enjoy what I do. If you are like me, who hate to do repetitive mundane tasks everyday, then, we should definitely get alone because I would rather automate these tasks than manually do them everyday.

I write scripts for myself and my colleagues at work to automate their work and spike productivity. I like working with scripting language such as Powershell and JavaScript and functional language such as C# and Python. I'm also quite proficient at other server technologies such as Microsoft Server, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Azure, Office 365, and many more.

If you need help with applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, I'm your guy.

If you like what you see thus
far...give me a buzz and you will love the experience

Although I am a statistics major, programming is a big part of my curriculum as my concentration within statistics is computer science/machine learning. I've taken more than my fair share of Computer science courses at Carnegie Mellon University and even my statistics assignments often require heavy programming. My current job is as the sole web developer for a growing company and this includes front and back end development as well as database management.

About James
I am a student at Carnegie Mellon University and have been teaching or tutoring for close to a decade now. This includes paid and volunteer private tutoring, classroom teaching, teaching assistant, and even a summer camp for elementary and middle-school students to learn computer science and programming skills. I also competed in math club during high school and was particularly successful in my senior year competing in statistics (6th place in the individual Nationals statistics event).

Whether you want to catch up with your current math course, get ahead and learn more advanced math, or aiming to ace your SAT/ACT I'd be happy to help. What I enjoy most is to have a friendly, peer relationship with students rather than being seen as just a tutor so you can expect to have fun while learning. However, what is most important to me is not l
earning how to solve problems or getting high grades but rather knowing that my students UNDERSTAND the problems and solutions without simply memorizing. And you can take that as my personal guarantee.

Some might call me a "math nerd" (to which I take absolutely no offense) but I have other interests as well. Most recently I've taken up golf but I love playing any sport with friends. I also watch nature documentaries and comedies. And of course I also love videogames (Overwatch, COD, FIFA) as well as boardgames. To some parents these might seem like useless facts but as an experienced teacher I can tell you that connecting with students on unrelated topics has an invaluable effect on the student-teacher relationship and will make for a smoother, unfiltered learning atmosphere. Not to mention it's much more exciting to refer to a sports analogy for a word problem rather than the unrelatable problems people are unfortunately used to ("person A buys x ft of fence...").

Are you wanting to learn a programming language? Or perhaps you want to learn how to build your own high-quality websites from scratch. Or maybe you just bluffed your way into a new job that requires SQL skills, and now you need a crash course so you don't get fired on your first week. Or maybe you're a student taking Computer Science classes and you need a little extra help understanding some of the more challenging concepts.

Whatever the case may be, I can probably help you out. I have extensive experience working with large-scale corporate software. I have a Master's degree in Applied Computer Science. The languages I am proficient in include HTML, CSS, JavaScipt, Java, C#, PHP, Python, Ruby, and SQL.

I am a patient teacher who is very good at distilling complex concepts into easily understandable lessons.

About Matthew
For total beginners who are unsure of which languages to learn first, I have a few suggestions depending on your goals.

If you are interested in web design: HTML and CSS (these will be taught as one)

If you are interested in databases: SQL

If you are interesting in easily learning basic programming concepts and techniques: Python

If you want to really understand programming concepts: Java

If you already know enough about HTML but are wanting to learn about server-side processing and websites that use databases: PHP or Ruby.

If you are a computer science student: Then they are probably making you take Java anyway.
