Graduated from Georgia Southern in 2001, with a bachelor degree in music education and Boston University in 2015, with a masters in music education.

Have worked for Atlanta public schools as a band director since Fall 2002.

Private lessons are taught on piano, guitar, and all the band instruments.

I also have a deep passion for Disc jockeying with a bias towards reggae and dance music.

Students can except a stress free learning process. After learning the basic symbols of music notation, breathing, and simple rhythms the students will continue learning the techniques and fingerings on their chosen instrument. After mastering these basic concepts in music the children will then be given a chance to perform their songs to an instrumental accompaniment. This is good for the student who does not play
in an ensemble to have the opportunity to play and listen to other moving parts.

*** Specialties ***
music, bass guitar, bassoon, children's music, guitar, classical guitar, electric guitar, home recording, African drum, music theory, acoustic guitar, flute, oboe, trumpet, saxophone, tuba, songwriting, french horn, trombone, clarinet, recording school, piano
My method utilizes maracas and rhythm guitar, played Simultaneously to produce a full ensemble effect.

About Bonnie
Bonnie started piano at age 4, clarinet by third grade, and oboe in the 8th grade. In High School, she played oboe, bagpipes, and saxophone in the jazz band winning the Best Jazz Soloist Award. With 10 years of teaching experience, I specialize in working with students of all ages and abilities. Lessons incorporate music theory, technique, and lyrical expression. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

I hold a Master's Degree in Oboe Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach. During my studies I studied with Carolyn Hove and Humbert Lucarelli.

About Grace
Grace has extensive experience teaching private and group lessons, including lessons in Piano, English Horn and reed making. Her students have gone on to win scholarships and place in honor orchestras. Currently, her students hold the top spots in nTyme's (North Torrance Youth Musicians Ensemble) Chamber Orchestra, as well as Honor Bands and Youth Orchestra across the country.

Locally, Grace has performed with the Dana Point Symphony, Symphony Irvine, as well as other groups around Southern California. Previously, she was a long time member of the Cheshire Symphony.

Whether you choose to take lessons online or in your home, I strive to make each lesson engaging, informative, and fun! Students are expected to practice in-between lessons and come to lessons prepared with their instrument and music. I also encourage students to bring
any music that they're interested in learning to their lessons.

**Every Other Week Lessons**
Due to current lesson demand, I'm not able to accept new students interested in every other week lessons. The only exception will be if you are able to fill the off week of a current every other week student. Please contact me before booking lessons for a current list of available spots. Spots are available on a first come, first come basis, and are subject to change at any time. This applies to requests for both online and in-person lessons.

**Group Lessons**
I don't offer traditional group lessons, as I've found they slow down the progress of both students and therefore aren't cost effective. Arrangements can be made for back to back lessons instead. Please contact me before booking lessons.

Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have, and I can't wait to meet you!

At first, I was anxious to have my son take lessons online but Grace gives great explanations during lessons and is very interactive even though she is not present in person. For reference to those in similar situations, my son is a high school student with 3 years of prior oboe experience.

Throughout my career, I have been featured as a vocalist and oboist on Billboard-charting and award-winning albums that vary in genre and style, and have learned that you can conquer any style you wish with the right foundation. I have been playing and singing since I was 8 years old, and recently graduated from the University of Southern California with my Masters in Oboe Performance, having graduated from Chapman University with my Bachelors in Music Performance with a double emphasis in Vocal and Oboe Performance in 2016.

I also have performed with the Columbia Orchestra, Classical Revolution Baltimore, and many other estee
med local organizations. I have also been featured as a woodwind clinician in Baltimore County and Howard County public schools classrooms and have been the oboe adjudicator for the middle and high school division of the Howard County Solo & Ensembles for the past three years.

I graduated from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University with a Masters in Oboe Performance in 2016. I additionally hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance as well as a Teaching Certificate from the Peabody Conservatory. During my time at Peabody, I studied under Jane Marvine, English Horn of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

While studying at Peabody, my passion for music education was ignited and I really enjoyed exploring the development of my skills and resources both as a classroom and studio teacher. It is my personal mission to enrich students through music education while still having fun and learning to apply skills learned in music to other areas of life.

I am currently the Operations Manager with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Previously, I have held administrative positions with cultural organizations such as the Baltimore Choral Arts Society and the New York Philharmonic. I have been on both sides of the music industry and classroom, so I know what it takes to become a professional musician, and take a nuanced pedagogical approach to help each student achieve their goals in a way that suits them individually - no two students are the same! I believe each student should have a strong fundamental layer in technique and understanding of music theory, but should also focus on having fun while playing music, otherwise, what is the point?

Outside of oboe I enjoy hiking with my dog, painting, yoga, and Cuban food.
