I have been teaching private lessons for over a decade, and have my B.M. in Music Education from William Paterson University. I was a voice major and flute/piano double minor, and I just completed my Masters of Music in Performance with the Opera Institute at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.

Although I do work with students of all ages, I specialize in working with younger children and retired adults!

I primarily teach voice, flute, piano, music theory and history and have over 10 years of experience teaching in both individual and group settings. I also work on audition and performance preparation, do speech/accent work and more. Classically trained, I also work with the styles of musical theatre, pop, rock, and jazz. I can teach you the proper techniques, posture, and breathing necessary to perform to the best of your ability and teach you how to utilize your full lung capacity to extend phrasing length and dynamic range. I will also help you learn to read and write music. Together, we will keep a log to track your progress lesson to lesson. This will also help you keep a record of the steps you are taking to obtain and achieve your goals and dreams.

I had three 90 minute sessions-Diana was wonderful-she is kind, compassionate and very knowledgeable. She has a soothing demeanor-her studio is very conducive to meditating. She asks relevant questions and was extremely therapeutic in her approach. She is very intuitive and I feel much better about the things transpiring in my life. I highly recommend Diana-from beginner to expert, my experience was great.

Diana has a calm vibe throughout the lesson. She is very intuitive to what my mind and body is communicating. She has a gift of healing and her soft voice puts you at ease. She describes postures eloquently, and is able to gauge your abilities and go at the appropriate pace with each lesson. Diana provides yoga hand-outs and will give encouraging information for your health and diet. Diana was great at helping me understand things about yoga that I wasn't familiar with, I thought her presentation when I first walked into her class was remarkable. I am very thankful that I have the chance to take her classes. I highly recommend her to new and current students of Kundalini yoga and meditation.

I'm a performer, choreographer, journalist, and certified yoga instructor. I hold a BFA in Dance and a Minor in Journalism from California State University, Long Beach where I graduated Cum Laude. In addition, I am a 200-RYT with Yoga Alliance after receiving my training through Long Beach School of Yoga under the direction of Ram Bhakt.

With dance, I have received training from professional artists Bernadette Alverio, Rebecca Lemme, Gracie Whyte, Laurel Jenkins, Keith Johnson, Lorin Johnson, Sophie Monat, John Pennington, Lisa Johnson, Alicia Head, and Rebecca Bryant.

For yoga, I teach a wide-range of yoga styles, with an emphasis on healing, somatic techniques, and Integral yoga principles. I have been practicing yoga for several years and teaching since 2017. Most of my classes consist of Gentle Flow practices to focus on finding space and stillness, providing the body an opportunity to unwind, heal, and restore. However, I am trained to teach Vinyasa Flow, Integral Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Iyengar Yoga. Currently I teach for Free Yoga on the Beach in Long Beach, CA.

My mission is to inspire students to find the stillness and breath in life, starting on the mat. Through a balance of flow and somatic technique, my classes will take you deeper in your practice. As a dancer and athlete, I understand the demands the body goes through daily, and firmly believe that yoga should reflect the opposite of your lifestyle. Implementing tactile adjustments and healing intentions, my classes will help you unwind, restore, and open up. I believe that through the steady practice of yoga, we can restore ourselves and bring zen to our lives in an already hectic world.

I have experience writing for the performance arts—specifically dance—entertainment stories, and media design. During my education, I was published in CSULB's Daily 49er university newspaper several times for the CSULB Department of Dance concerts. I actively write for the dance blog Spot LA run by Monica Reid where I report on the thriving LA dance scene.

I am a yoga instructor and an ex-circus performer. I trained strength, flexibility and aerial arts and performed with a professional circus from the age of 8. As I got older, I started teaching circus arts to both children and adults. My body hurt, though, from years of rough use and the performance lifestyle.

I took up Yoga in 2010 and fell in love immediately! I found that it relieved the pain of old injuries and forced me to even out my body after a life time of asymmetric use in performances. Despite my strength and flexibility from years of circus arts, Yoga managed to find small, stabilizing muscles that I had been neglecting. I have never felt stronger or healthier in my body than I do now!

The emotional side of Yoga was what I didn’t expect. At first, it brought up a lot of unresolved emotions as I was forced to sit quietly wit
h myself and confront the tension held in my body. Over time I have begun to work through those physical and emotional barriers, and have even been able to find words for them. As a result, I find myself to be happier in general and to suffer from less anxiety.
