Guitar Lesson Reviews from Students
Students are raving about their Guitar instructors on TakeLessons. Check out some of these recent reviews.
My son was 7 when he began the guitar and after just over a year, we decided that it would be best to switch to the piano. Practicing the guitar was always a struggle. Andrew took this change from guitar to piano in stride and has enough piano skills to help my son learn all of the things that are important in music: reading, learning rhythm, etc. I have seen him teach younger students and I appreciate that he can adapt his teaching approach to match the age, ability and interest of the learner.
My son seems intrinsically motivated to learn the piano and practice. But even as he plodded away strumming his electric guitar unenthusiastically, Andrew always found a way to engage him. One of the more memorable techniques Andrew uses is to write out the music for the songs my son wants to learn. At that moment, it was a Pokémon song. I thought it was rather genius. Even though my son barely practiced, he wanted to learn that song.
By means of the piano, Andrew is teaching my son music, not just how to play songs on the piano. I am amazed at the progress he has made from not being able to reproduce rhythms to now being able to do so.
It is clear that Andrew enjoys teaching. He is personable and polite. I have referred him to family and friends and would not hesitate to hire him for drums, guitar and beginning piano."
Working with Allen D. has been an incredible experience. I studied guitar as a child, but my experiences were not good, and although I
Josh's style is patient, supportive and also very funny. He's the reason I love playing guitar and didn't get scared off by bar chords.
He also can play absolutely anything, and tailors my lessons to help me play the kind of stuff I write the best possible way. I am really grateful to be taught by him and will continue to take lessons as long as he's teaching."
