Music has been my passion since starting lessons age 7 and training for years in performance, composition and theory, culminating in a masters degree from The Royal Academy of Music in London, England. Learning to read music well with enjoyment, musicality and strong technique is my main focus. I cover music from different periods in history, including music being composed today. I work with children age 5 to adults with all levels of experience. I have taught children in schools and privately in my home studio where I have an upright acoustic Schulze Pollmann (German/Italian) piano and a Yamaha keyboard with weighted keys. Positive reinforcement is my teaching philosophy and each lesson is tailored to the students needs and goals. Check out my availability and let’s get started!

My students receive individualized lessons based on their interest and ability. They learn to read music notation, play core piano literature, learn theory, music history, and composition.
All students participate in a yearly recital and have the option of entering the NJMTA Piano Festival to be adjudicated each year.
I have a two-fold goal with each student: that she or he become an excellent musician, and that we have fun together as that happens.

I've been teaching piano for 7 years and love seeing my students discover their own musicality through piano! I specialize in teaching school-age kids, teens, adult beginners, and secondary instrument learners.
As a beginner, you’ll learn your way around the keyboard, increase your finger dexterity, and develop healthy playing techniques and body alignment. We will explore ear training and creativity from the beginning of your journey, while making connections to symbolic notation on the page. With continued practice, you’ll learn to read music fluently on the grand staff, allowing you to play songs you know and love AND notate and share your own compositions.
I'll make your lessons meaningful to you, by blending different resources to match your level and interests. I typically start younger students in Faber Piano Adventures or Alfred Basics books, but I choose each student’s materials to match their personality and musical background. We will also explore your favorite modern ...
