Drawing is essential to becoming a skilled artist. Careful observation, practicing dividing light and dark, hand-eye-pencil coordination, and learning basic shapes and forms will all vastly improve the more information you soak in. How many times have we heard someone say "I couldn't draw a stick figure." Well, it's just not true that those of us who were not born with innate talent can never make works of art of the highest quality. It just takes time and work. The more information we acquire, the brighter the light bulb will go off in our heads.

I've created a 20 minute lesson option so that our first meeting we can chat about your existing supplies and work area. For lessons after our initial meeting, and after you have acquired the necessary materials, then we'll need a full hour for demos, exercises, and art history.

About Rick

Hello friends! Well,... it's a surprise that I'm writing this introduction at all to be honest. I had been traveling since last July and working on my yt channel called 'An Easel Abroad', when this crazy pandemic swept the world and forced me back home to New York City. The good news is that

Self expression through art is an amazing experience. It's personal on all levels.

The most fabulous thing about being an artist is that boundaries regarding creativity are non-existent. The artist is always in a state of learning. Art is a progressive practice that takes time to develop.

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is doing well during this time of isolation and social distancing.

My name is Tyler Lockett, and I'm a professional illustrator with over 15 years of experience in design, illustration, and concept art for video games. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in illustration from Parsons School of Design in New York City.

I have done conceptual art for high profile game titles such as "Neverwinter Nights", "American Mcgee's Grimm!", and I was a senior concept artist on "Alice; Madness Returns." for Xbox360. I'm currently hard at work on my first Illustrated novel, which will have over 200 illustrations, and will be available at the end of the year.

My lessons are completely flexible, and adaptable to your personal goals. However, here are my recommendations.

For BEGINNERS I recommend building up your foundation skills; shapes, silhouettes, values, composition, lighting, color, line work, texture, etc. We could pick subject matter that you ...

I am both self-taught and studied again at various art schools, including the Art Students League of NY, Rhode Island School of Design, and the School of Visual Arts in NYC. I will be receiving my BFA from SVA in mid-2020.

I can help you understand Drawing and Painting inside and out. I can help you understand the key fundamental elements of art that will allow you to make the best works at the very best of your ability. Those fundamental elements of art include color theory, anatomy, perspective, and composition. I even wrote an article about color theory for a street art magazine (Look up "Color Theory" at Up Mag).

I can help you learn how to choose colors for the right situations and contexts. Color is a very complex endeavor, but if you learn it with me you will get to know and see color through experience of using the right colors, and the experience will feed into your perception of choosing the right colors, which will then enhance your experience of using colors, and so on.

About Chunbum

Hello! I am very enthusiastic about learning and teaching art. I came to USA from South Korea when I was a kid and wanted to study math and science! But, finding out that I was terrible in those two subjects, I felt unhappy and lost. Art was my way to stand out from the crowd, and it rescued me fro
