Ashley has been amazing with my son. She has taught him for almost two years now and he continues to enjoy learning piano. She is very patient, remains calm and engaging, is able to adjust the lesson as needed, and provides a positive and fun atmosphere for learning. I never hesitate to recommend her to any parents searching for a piano instructor.

I'm a big fan of the series "Alfred's Essentials of Music Theory," which takes the student from the rudiments of music theory through basic harmony.

If students prefer a more in-depth study of theory, we might try the books put out by ABRSM.

My son Burke has taken piano lessons from Stephen McCool for a few years and we think he is AWESOME! He shows a genuine interest in his students, stays serious about what he is teaching but also brings humor in to keep students from feeling stressed. It is clear that it brings him joy to share his love of music with his students. Mr. McCool is an excellent teacher and I would highly recommend him for students of any age.
Andrew N.
The first lesson was superb. Andrew really enjoyed his first piano class and really liked learning it from Mr. McCool. After class, Andrew was immediately motivated to do his practice. Mr. McCool is very encouraging, he makes the lesson easy going while making his student learned quickly (without pressure). We look forward to the next lessons with him. Leaving the students with their own desire to learn and to love music is indeed very important. He delivers that traits well.

Music is a universal language with many complex parts. Knowing how to read music is an important skill as well as knowing chords and how music is put together properly. If you want to learn to read basic music, write music or you are already a pro, it is important to have ear training and musical knowledge to really get your message across.

I graduated from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, GA with a BA in Music Education, voice principal. Having the opportunity to grow with Dr. C is truly a gift! Her personal skill and expertise is awe inspiring, and she knows how to pass it on in clear and creative ways. She's always has amazing ways to explain everything, even simple scales and fundamentals, and keep anyone intrigued and learning. Dr. C puts so much care and effort into teaching her students during and after lessons. Personally her kindness and proactive nature has inspired me to grow and practice as a musician even during this time of quarantine.

I am so grateful to have had Dr. Laura Clapper as my teacher in private lessons, studio class, flute choir, and piccolo class during her doctoral studies at Florida State University. Dr. Clapper is an incredibly gifted musician and teacher. She is one of the most well-rounded musicians I have ever met with performance experience and research in many different fields of music. Coupled with that knowledge is a deep sense of compassion and dedication for her students. Dr. Clapper individualizes instruction to meet the student’s individual needs and goals. She is always willing to go the extra mile to help her students succeed. Dr. Clapper helped me grow as a musician beyond what I thought I was capable of and I am so thankful to have worked with a teacher as kind and knowledgeable as her!

I really enjoyed lessons with Emilie! She is well organized and has a clear lesson plan for each session, with follow up homework and exercises. I learned so much about technique and the "how to" of drawing. Everything she put together was appropriate for my level and included exercises that challenged me to improve. I could tell Emilie is well trained and skilled at drawing. She is also very nice and I felt relaxed and comfortable with her. Her studio is warm and inviting. Overall it was a great experience and I am looking forward to taking some additional lessons with Emilie!

So happy to have found Emilie! I work for a family with a four year old child who is extremely engaged in art and we wanted to find private lessons for her. Emilie has been extremely accommodating and very intentional in making sure we were ready for our first lesson. Will be scheduling more lessons and look forward to her being apart of my charges explorative learning!

Mariel has completely changed my singing for the better. I had previously had a singing teacher who was uninterested, uninspiring, and unmotivational. With Mariel - I always look forward to our lessons! She has developed my tone, allowed me to take control of my breathing, completely boost my confidence, and has made me fall in love with singing again! She has also encouraged me with my songwriting, helping me to find a sound that is natural to me. I have also developed a greater understanding of music theory which has helped me with reading sheet music as well as writing music.

"Without Jeremy, I never would've gotten my Master's Degree. As I was preparing for my comprehensive exams in music performance, I had five pieces ranging from Medieval all the way through 20th century that had to be studied and analyzed for the music theory section of my exam. Jeremy was able to help me (and my entire study group) by teaching us in a knowledgeable, yet approachable way. He has a great deal of patience and a very kind demeanor. I wish I had encountered a teacher like him while in my undergrad music studies. He simplified so many of the concepts and ideas of music theory which really helped me to understand the analysis process and gave me full confidence when taking my comprehensive exams. He never made me feel stupid when asking questions and even when he had to explain the same concept over and over (which that happened often) he never lost his patience. He is so incredibly knowledgeable as a musician and such a delightfully kind person."
