Kayla uses her collegiate level music theory and performance background to educate on a plethora of subjects. However, she clearly communicates beneficial concepts to both children and adults alike.
I highly recommend Kayla both as a peer, and a student. I’ve benefited from her wisdom, and insight throughout the years, and I know you will too.

Specialized in solo cello works, chamber music, orchestra, opera, etc. I will have my own lesson curriculum and repertoires adjusted to my students depending on their levels, and interest in music. I like to give at least two repertoires for each student: one for technique and one music work. Not only my students will improve their performance skills, but also in sight reading, ear training, music theory, and the ability to analyze and interpret pieces that they are given.
Let's get started!

Ukulele lessons are incorporated into my instruction practice as ukulele is traditionally easier than guitar for inexperienced players. It’s a smaller body, neck, and fretboard, and has nylon strings instead of steel strings. It will help the student develop confidence in their playing to songs that inspire them. So I signed up for lessons with Steve. I took piano lessons from Steve for about 18 months. I moved about an hour away, so it was not practical to continue with him.
The lessons from Steve were exactly what I was looking for. He figured out my skill level and set up a plan for me. He stressed the fundamentals while teaching a song at the same time. Being able to play a song, even a simple one, was a great reward. Then we progressed to develop more skills and more interesting songs.
Steve is patient, attentive and a good coach. He genuinely loves teaching and finds that “spark” in to build on. I saw this many times as I would listen to him teaching the student before me.
Steve is a great teacher and I strongly recommend him.

I have a simple, no-nonsense approach to vocal training, helping students build the vocal strength and coordination necessary to sing efficiently, using principles and exercises learned through over a decade of intensive vocal study in NYC.
Please be advised that I expect students to learn their music on their own (although I'll certainly give you some learning strategies, help with tricky passages, etc.). If you are looking for someone to "teach you the notes," I'm probably not who you're looking for. But, if you want to learn how to sing well and are willing to put in the work, I'd love to help you achieve your goals!
About Ted
My name is Ted D. and I have been teaching private lessons in both guitar and voice for over a decade. I began playing guitar at age eleven and continued into college, where I majored in guitar performance. While in college I began studying voice seriously, adding a vocal performance major to my de
