I have been a choir teacher for 3 years and I have a huge passion for singing! As a band kid that went to college playing a wind instrument (who also had very little interest in becoming a better singer), I was shocked to find just how much joy teaching others to sing brought me. Additionally, and I cannot stress this enough, I believe that EVERYONE can sing. Popular shows like "American Idol" or "America's Got Talent" would have you believe that singing is a talent that only a lucky few are born with. However, I am here to tell you that, just like any other instrument or worthwhile skill in life, singing takes practice! The more you dedicate yourself to practicing, the more you will grow. Simple as that! With that said, I am searching for eager students who wish to strengthen their vocal abilities! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of technical ability and excellent musicianship. Hopefully I'll be singing with ...

I am a former standard certified high school biology teacher as well as a medical student. As a result, I have up-to-date experiences as both a teacher and a student. It is important to be able to stand in a student's shoes as a tutor and I am able to do just that. I have high success rates and I tutor my students on how to manage their time effectively, because it is the not the quantity, but rather the quality of studying that affects a student's grades.
I am a former high school biology teacher, a research scholar, and a second-year medical student. I have a BA in Biological Sciences and I am pursuing a MD. The GRE is a complex, demanding test. For over 10 years, I've helped many undergraduate students prepare for all five sections: GRE Analytical Writing, GRE Verbal, and GRE math. Concept review and strategic problem solving are part of my approach for Quantitative Reasoning, especially quantitative comparison questions. For reading comprehension, text completion, and sentence equivalence questions, I coach students through them using effective techniques and intensive vocabulary practice. The GRE writing section requires strong critical thinking skills and logical reasoning to achieve a scaled score of 5 or higher. As a professional writer and editor who has tutored test prep for many different timed essays, I clarify the GRE writing standards for students so they can expand their brainstorming and outline process, draft strong responses in minimal time, and strengthen their writing with constructive editing. It is challenging to score high on the GRE, but with organized test prep and ...
For over 10 years, my goal as a tutor has been steadfast: I want to help you help yourself. I know from my own experience how hard it is to learn any subject and how much harder it is to find the right teacher. Now I explain the same concepts I've mastered to countless children and adults who need m

Barry Harris, the great Jazz pianist, and educator says, “I have such a ball in my classes, and I learn so much from my students. They probably don’t realize that I come to school here, too. I’m just the oldest member of the class. I wish everyone could experience the blessing of learning new things all the time.”
The above statement describes how I feel when I am teaching. I have been playing and performing for over 20 years in many capacities, and still, music continues to teach me new things every time. Not only do I want to share that experience with you, but I also want to guide you into having that experience for yourself.
I started on the violin when I was about 8 years old. I began with classical music, studying in the Suzuki method. I loved my time in the Suzuki method; I wasn’t always the best student; however, in hindsight, I am incredibly grateful for the experience with my teacher, the method, and the strong

He's got a cornucopia of musical knowledge that's evident from how speaks to how he teaches. If you like any film score, chances are he knows how to play it.
Speaking as a beginner, I can say he's been very patient and knows a bunch of exercises and books to learn everything thing from theory to practical pieces to finger exercises.
He provides constructive guidance on what you're doing wrong, and I'm happy to see myself improve under his tutorage. (oh and if you're a sci-fi fan, you'll have a lot in common with him)
