I'm a recent grad of University of Michigan, where I received both my bachelors and masters degrees in cello performance with Anthony Elliott and Richard Aaron, respectively. I've spent years honing my craft and I'm excited to share with you everything I've learned!
My teaching style is a blend of all the teaching philosophies that I've encountered over the years. I emphasize good technique and a holistic approach to cello playing, as I believe those two are the foundation to building musicality. However, I believe the ultimate goal is to simply instill a love for music into my students and to encourage them to have fun. I look forward to making music with you soon!

I am a professional cellist and private educator based in Los Angeles, California. I have seventeen years of cello experience, including a Bachelors in Music from the prestigious University of North Texas. I earned my Masters of Music in Cello Performance at Oklahoma State University, where my research included pedagogy and performance practice.

My former teachers include Shawn Sanders (2006-2010), Nikola Ružević (-2014) and Dr. Meredith Blecha-Wells (-2016). I have performed masterclasses for artists including Phyllis Young, Bion Tsang, Dobrila Berković-Magdalenič, Johnathan Ruck, and Kari Caldwell.

My primary education used Suzuki Method materials along with exercises by Popper and Dotzauer, and later more advanced studies such as Feuillard, Duport, and Piatti. My teaching uses these resources, in addition to personalized exercises, to help my students achieve their musical goals. Valentina is a cellist with 11 years of experience, currently, she is a professor at music academies; she has participated in national and international orchestras. She was part of the “El Sistema” in Venezuela, where she obtained her knowledge abilities to become the musician she is now. I like to see how my students grow and advance; I get involved in their musical growth, which helps them to develop each of their skills by giving them tools they enjoy to work on while they enjoy it.
